I need to bond crack on the bathtub cover which is made of ABS. Which glue do you recommend 401 or 406? Thank you

Loctite 406 should work for that application. Less is more when applying this product.

I want to stick rubber tyre stickers to the tires... Should I use 401 or 406 ?

Loctite 480 would be a better choice for your application. The 480 is rubber toughened and can handle some flex and shock, which is expected when dealing with a Tyre.
If you want a clear version, you can also look at Loctite 435. The Loctite 406 can bond, but is brittle on flexing rubber. Thanks!

So does that mean 406 is a better choice for Nylon 66 / Polyamide ? Thank you in advance.

      Hi there,
Both Loctite 401 & 406 will provide very good results, but 406 is a little better choice for Nylon.
It cures faster and has a higher temperature resistance but is a very thin product.
      Hope this helps!

My bike chainguard rubber armor dropped, used regular double side tape but it also dropped off because of hot weather. Is this 401 works on that ? Rubber chainguard protection into carbon fiber bike frame.

      Hi there,
Could you please provide us with some more information on your application?
      - Do you know what type of rubber the chain guard is made off?
      - Who is the manufacturer?
      - Do you have any pictures you can share of the chain guard in place?
      - How was the chain guard originally secured?
You can email us through this information at loctite.enquiries@henkel.com and one of our Application Engineers will be happy to assist.
      Thank you,
      The Henkel Adhesives Team

@@henkeladhesivesanz Hi, thank you for response.
      - it's Zefal chainstay armor
      - Original one dropped after 3 years of useage, i think they used some kind of glue on it originally (Trek Supercaliber bike)
      - I have tried to use double sided VHB tape, it hold for some time but when weather get too hot, it also dropped (dropped on chainguard side, it's still sticked to frame)

@@uuryzc The original adhesive was a pressure sensitive type, unfortunately, they do not fully cure but remain tacky, which help for future easy removal but means they are sensitive to softening and moving / sliding with heat over time.
This is the trade-off. If you want a more permanent solution than a product that cures is required. This will be a lot more difficult to remove in the future. If that is ok, then have a look at our Loctite Extreme Glue No Drip Gel.

Do u have any chemical to remove loctite401

    • @henkeladhesivesanz
      @henkeladhesivesanz  Год назад

There are a few ways to chemically remove cured 401 and 406.
      1. Use Loctite Glue Remover.
      2. Use the Clean Up Solvent, Loctite SF 75326 that is found in the Imperial O ring kit, or
      3. Use a paint stripper like Loctite SF 790.
If you need the Technical Data Sheets for any of these products, please let us know your email address and we can send them your way.
