This is amazing! Thank you for sharing! I had no idea -1 meant that operator is silent. I've been using algo 2 with x focused on sub freq and y focused on high, then getting a mix between the two. You have a deep understanding of the digitone.
They should simply propose a VA engine , i have a syntakt , and was considering the digitone for polyphony , but man the level of gymnastic to make to have simple analog style is a shame ... Makes full sens for FM and complex sounds , but for simple sounds ....it defies the purpose of simplicity ...

Thanks! Is it showing up more? I think I was inspired a little by State Azure, dropping it in for some nice subtle reverb that doesn't need too much setup. I usually favor Valhalla Room and Supermassive for the big reverb! I also like the Baby Audio "Spaced Out" and "Crystalline", possibly underrated and worth a look at.
Would another way to combine the two waveforms (on T1 and T2) be to assign those tracks to the same MIDI channel? Then when you played notes or adjusted the cutoff for that channel on your MIDI controller, you'd be doing so in both tracks at once.
Yep, that would achieve the same result, but could limit you if you wanted to use other patterns during a performance as it's a device setting. With layers, you can play using the appropriate MIDI channel for T1, and freely tweak T2. In the video I was sending MIDI over the auto channel, so it followed the active track.
That's cool, there's lots of synths and grooveboxes out there! There's something for everyone in fact. The 707 does look pretty neat, and packs in a lot of classic synths. I don't have one, however, but I do have an S-1. Maybe I'll feature it some time?

We can only hope. Given Elektron released an update for both versions of the Analog Rytm recently, the outlook isn't entirely bleak.
Yes, they update their machines for a loooing time. Might be a few years between updates but they always deliver
