When a supposedly inanimate object acknowledges your presence it is best to not return the favor, pretend it to be a mild hallucination, and never think of it again.
If Jeepers Creepers 2 taught me anything, it's to stay away from scarecrows. And to never go near them at night. Obviously, the guy in the story never saw Jeepers Creepers or he'd have stayed far away from the scarecrow.
It's the middle of the night, and the Mommet moves... At that point, I'm wondering "Why tf did you stop?"..... "Why TF did you get out???"..... "WHY TF ARE YOU MESSING WITH THE MOMMET???"
I had the whole time that song that goes like "buuuurn baby burn, disco inferno" in my head. I always have that when i see or hear something with a scarcrow. Lovely, like every story you tell, props to lighthouse and the writer
hah 😉 I was thinking today and I think I'm gonna start putting out a poll before stories then people can find out if they made the right or wrong choice lol. Hint: It's almost always RUN!! Lol.
Ahhhh my night begins luxuriously as always. I'm relaxed and done for the day and clicked play on Lighthouse Horror. Almost all my nights seem to end on this perfect note now. And scarecrows. Oh sh-t.
Ok I withdraw my answer. I'd ask it if it saw any benefit to a scarecrow-human alliance. And ask so what are your powers again ? Beyond scaring crows ?
A scarecrow, seemingly without any shame, was convicted of drunk driving yesterday. He was apprehended after a low speed chase on the freeway, his tractor having a maximum speed of 35 mph. Police are still trying to determine what sort of meat was contained in the large trailer he was towing behind the tractor.

I decided to listen to this after your Pole yesterday. I still think that the Scarecrow doesn't have a brain. Don't pay attention to the man behind the curtain
Honestly I feel bad for the Mommet. He tips his hat to a dude driving past and the guy comes at him with an axe and intent to harm him. Pokes him hard in the chest, changes his mind and tries to leave. The Mommet's children didn't put up with that and attacked him so he stopped their attack, put the dude in time out, and was probably going to give the dude a stern talking to. Then by the time he comes back the dude is already trying to burn his home down.

Don't get me wrong, it _might_ have nefarious intentions, but if there were random children getting snatched in the dead of night or something then I missed that part of the story.
The mommet saved the protagonist from the crows and then brought him into some kind of ritual circle? What if the protagonist misunderstood? The protagonist said that the mommet was a mockery of Christ but what if it wasn't? If Christ is the savior of humankind, what if the mommet is the savior for crowkind? And the protagonist had been chosen to complete the circle of those chosen to be its disciples? And together they would bring crows into paradise? Or bring some kind of eldritch apocalypse unto Earth?
This is a great story. Actually, believe it or not, but if written properly, this story could be used as a precursor for a cute little movie called "Children of The Corn!" It could be worked as the origin story of a rambunctious little boy called "Isaac Chroner!" 😂 Of course, when it comes to 80's horror movies, the original is always better than the sequels 😊

Yeah, it seems like it wasn't doing anything evil before the protagonist came along. No missing people, no stalking, nothing beyond hanging off it's post and waving to the occasional person.
