The 1954 were my first pair of LVCs, I liked the fact that it had classic features like hidden rivets and leather patch, high wasit and it had a tapered leg. I wish it was a button fly thou.
I have the LVC 551Z from way back 1997. Great topics, again I will mention the rare LVC 501 1955 Customized with wide selvedge id made in Japan released 2021. It is my current favorite!
What are the characteristics of a dungarees before labeling it as 501 XX? If a dungaree has a button fly it can be called 501, what characteristic that a denim should have before it can be labeled as XX? Hidden rivets at the back pockets? Thank you Den! =)
@@denindenim Oh wow.. the more you know! I just bought a pair of 1954 cone mills/made in usa pair (brand new!) off of ebay in a 31x32, and I'm a true 29.5-30x30.. any ideas how I should wash them to get the desired fit?
Fantastic video
I reckon these will be the next pair for my collection. Keep up the good work Den.
Love this model, I have a couple including the time tunnel color and the 1960 rumble, very good quality. Thanks for the video!

I hear it. I wonder about the fit of the ‘53. The zipper is a nice one that doesn’t snag.
Favorite cut
Great content again - thank you!
Thanks.

Great videos man! Not a huge fan of zippered jeans either, but the history of Levi’s and workwear is fun nonetheless
Thanks! I love the history of it all too and it’s my favorite part of making the videos.
I have this 501 LVC 1954 Rigid (new) , and not wear yet until now 💞 🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌏🌎🌍🌞 .
I love Levis 501
My favorite is so futuristic … 501z are totally contemporary
Where you get the names ?
I saw “names” on the tags of my 501z and 1944 501

XX referred to the stronger 9 ounce denim made by Amoskeag mills in the 1870’s. They removed the XX in the 60’s.
12 oz today
I'm guessing you haven't shrunk yours yet, or do you plan on doing so, or not? Wouldn't they be to small on you if you did? love the vids!
Actually. They are New Rinse so they won’t shrink. It’s great for looking rigid but not staining clothes.

@@youtubeuser2894 tub soak or wear rigid with a belt until your sweat shrinks it. machine wash will shrink it too much.
Hi Den, do you know if Levis changed their jeans of the 501 evey year in the past?
Many years were the same as the previous.
whats rare and cooler the levis 1954 or 1966 ?
66 is much more rare. I like them more but if you don’t mind the zipper 54 is cool.
Where is homerun 54501z
Levi's quality has definitely gone down. 👎🏼
