Nice vid mate. I’ve sold quite a lot of those types of plastic belt guards in the past because they are quite subject to split and breaks. Great info as usual 👍👍
It's amazing you find a mower and they think the drive goes out in it and find the belt came off and the drive works like it should I found quite a bit of mowers like that , and that one was a great find for a 2021 model as mick would say quids in 💷
I just fixed a Snapper big six with the same issue, there's no under guards on the drive! Snapper rely on a poxy little metal rod close to the drive pulley to clear the grass but it doesn't work! I made an aluminium cover and it fixed the drive straight away.
Hi Mick .Had a starting problem wiitm my balmoral 17 se watched your vidiio on how to clean the carb started first time runs great . thanks for your help.Roger. 6:09
@@themowerman well, guess what... I went outside, pulled it out of the bike shed, took my chunky-monkey big screwdriver, scraped away an inch of "grass crud", blasted the whole shebang with my compressed air gun, turned on my headlamp and there it was.... the "cotton-pickin" drive belt WAS off the small pulley ! I'm not going to disassemble it all now. THAT'S for "tomorrow"...😁. Thanks. I at least understand what the hell's going on down there !

My word,is this what we are turning into? People that are hopelessly unable to do basic tasks. Or maybe you just came across a rare individual Mick, lucky you. He also may have just wanted to change to electric anyway. ., ... the fecking warranty though, seriously 😢, PS my OCD is uneasy about that little bit of grass left on the deck 😢.
Having just got my first ever petrol mower, (Mountfield) in my late 50s and after only ever having electric mowers I don’t get the seller’s logic to go from petrol to electric. He must be mad.
Hey Mick, dont know if you can advise me. I've got a Hayter Harrier 48 (220) and my clutch cable snapped for the self propelled mechanism, so I got a new one. Got it all in and fitted but looks like my jockey pulley (dont know if thats the term) doesn't want to return when I let go of the lever. I can pull it up ok and it makes contact with the belt, but then it just doesn't go back. Is it safe to just spray some WD40 in there and move it about or is that a stupid idea because it might get onto the belt and then make it slip? I thought about trying to dismantle it a bit so it's easier to get to the mechanism but I can't see how I can take the underguard off, it's similar to the mower you have here ruclips.net/video/4XGyS5L0M6Y/видео.html Appreciate if you can offer any advice.

Hi mate.. yeah a little wd40 will not hurt.. if not take it apart and oil it up..
And the belt will be back off in another few months , exact same happened to me , roller and wheeled mountfields they are a bad design sadly
Needs a bigger belt cover..
