"Make the distinction between actors and action...sin and sinner. Toward sin, we must oppose...the sinner we must not lose our concern and compassion." We wish His Holiness the Dalai Lama a happy 80th birthday. Watch as he shares insights on forgiveness. #WithCompassion

this is really awesome, he teaches the things that are in the bible. But how could buddists not believe in god? was the earth put in the perfect place for life on its own? with stable season changes? just the right temperatures? with fruits and vegetables.. its amazing how someone cannot believe in god.. but i still respect buddists i just pray for them and hope they wake up.... soon....

JayThrilla you don't have to be Christian to be a kind good person. Christianity isn't for everyone. There's many great religions in this world, none of them are a one size fits all. Respect everyone whose religious beliefs are different than yours, and don't try to convert them.

Forgiveness is fine, but enlightenment is better. Forgiveness is about concern for the self - enlightenment is concern for the other person. Forgiveness heals us, anger can burn us up, hurt us - but if we ask for enlightenment for the other person, everyone benefits. For eg the boston bombers, the guy who kept 3 women caged up in cleveland, forgiveness will make us happy but making these evil people see the evil in what they did makes the whole world better
