I tried to stay away from YT during my holiday in Vietnam, but I couldn’t when I spotted the word small shadow palette. 🤷🏻♀️ This video reassures me how much I can trust your review. We have really similar taste of colour scheme and texture. I still regret not purchasing the VB Emerald single shadow which makes me keep searching for the proper greeny pearly shade. 🤦🏻♀️ Many thanks to you as always for the video.
These videos are my absolute favorite! This video in particular is right up my alley. I feel so much more drawn to these smaller style pallets. I find myself buying the larger ones less and less. These just store more easily, they have a much better curated color story, and I find myself using them far more often. I have my eye on several that you mentioned. Which of the Charlotte Tilbury would you say are the "must haves"?
Liv Learns I’m not Michele, and I don’t own a ton of the CT palettes. But I can offer my opinions on the two I have. I find Golden Goddess to be a great neutral everyday palette - I don’t think it’s as heavily pigmented as some others from people’s comparisons, but it still lays down colour. I especially love the top right shade, it’s a light brown with a silvery grey shift to it that I adore. I like that it’s more neutral, not super warm as really warm things do not attract me as much.
For Dolce Vita, it is definitely more pigmented and warm. I find I go in more gently, and this one could be more easily built into a proper intense eyeshadow look. But I also wear it as an everyday palette too. The glitter shades in the palettes are great I love them, they glitter in a very refined and elegant way it’s not chunky or fallout at all.
Disclaimer though: I am really lazy so I use 1, max 2 eyeshadow colours at a time. Can’t comment on how cohesively these build a multi coloured depth look.

The Tom Ford collection is great but as they don't vary in packaging it is probably difficult to find the one you want. I had that problem with my Avon collection and had to write key words with white flamaster on them for quicker access:)

I have the Smashbox Matte Exposure palette and it is so great! I use the deepest colors and liners when I’m using another palette like Pillowtalk or that Chantecaille. And I love the way they have very large sizes of the base colors that are great for setting the whole eyelid or just using under the browbone. They also just make it easy to do a simple, matte neutral eye look, smoky or not. Have you tried Minx II in those Viseart minis? It’s really gorgeous. That sweet Morgan Turner sent it to me. I feel your frustration about donating makeup. I’m in the Washington DC area and there is no place that wants those things. Which is frustrating because my products, like yours, were expensive and are almost like new. I’m going to try Glambot to consign some of those things and try to get some money back. They’ve had mixed reviews but there simply aren’t many options.
Poshmark is a good place to sell your gently used makeup. Get some of your money back.

The Dior quint in Montagne was my first small palette and I never reach for it, like ever. It's so dry compared to other formulas available. That VB Charred Emerald is to die for. I can never get enough of the greens.
Loved this non-declutter! Beautiful collection. I just organized all of my small shadows and bronzers into one drawer. They look so pretty in my drawer. I did lipsticks too which made me realize how many lipsticks I actually have LOL Thank you!

Agreed 100%. I feel like the only smaller eyeshadow palette I like is my Natasha denona camel. But I definitely prefer at least 8 eyeshadows.

My favorite category. You have a wonderful collection. You should definitely use the Fallen Angel quad. I use the shadows wet and always get a beautiful eye look. That green single from the Victoria Beckham collection I'm still kicking myself that I didn't purchase it. I love green shadows and that one looks superb.

I just did a eyeshadow palette “declutter” myself. (I had too many stacked, half hazardously, on a cabinet shelf and needed to organize them better... so I bought some “vanity racks” to do that.) I ended up only getting rid of 5 out of 40. (About half of my collection are duos, trios and quads. All my singles are depotted in zpalettes.)

I'm really happy my collection is much smaller- I wouldn't be able to choose one palette from oh so many for a make-up for a day. I'd be pissed I couldn't use three of four at once ahaha. :)
My only problem with high end eyeshadow quads is that most of them have a shimmer or satin finish, I don’t wear satin or shimmery on my lids and their colors also look so light. I mean satin shades are great but when ur almost 60, they’re only good for lid , under brows and inner corner .theyre so beautiful and packaging is great but again , just leave one or two satin, and the rest matte. Always enjoy watching your collections, tfs

I don’t know what it is, but I never purchase quads. Even the Smashbox Cover Shot palette are “too small” for me. I feel more inspired by a bigger palette. I think I’m weird?

I think you’re the rule. Most people nowadays buy palettes. I haven’t found a single palette that I like so I buy trios or duos or singles. It’s more expensive but you also get more product

Interesting video. My favorite eye shadow textures are Surratt and the formula in TF Cocoa Mirage, both are quite creamy. How does Il Maquiage compare texture wise? Based on your video last year on Il Maquiage, I trekked to the Soho shop. I just swatched the shadows and only ended up buying a pencil eyeliner. I agree with you about By Terry. I have an earlier large palette. The shades are gorgeous but they are very powdery and the dark shades cause a lot of fallout.

I actually own very few quads. That's the only reason that I haven't pulled the trigger yet on the Charlotte Tilbury, Tom Ford, or Chanel palettes. Because quads are my least favorite number of eyeshadows. I much prefer at least six to 12 or more. Maybe someday!
Love these so I can see colors for real rather than the overlit web swatches. You NEED the new Chanel Ambres quad with the peachy orangey shade & pearly light shades. They’re the new buttery formulation instead of the dusty glitter bomb shimmers of the old formula.

I wouldn't say the formulas are similar, but I am a big fan of Bareminerals eyeshadows. They perform very well for me and are more affordable. Their Gen Nude 6-pan palettes are lovely. There are a bunch of different shades. Here is a link to one at Ulta: bit.ly/2Tdq3Z8

I would like to make it exceptionally difficult for you!!!....not on purpose but because of all the things you have. I would love to have videos of favourite of all in the drawer...e.g. small eyeshadow palettes, large eyeshadow palettes, blushes etcetc etc...ranked in order from say best, most favourite to either 5 or 10....very very difficult I know but I appreciate your critiques so much it would be so very helpful, not to mention a joy to watch..
I am the type of person that only needs 3 colors for a look (due to eye shape) and there are a LOT of colors that don’t suit me either so, singles, and small palettes are perfect.
If we are alive for the apocalypse, I know you’ll be looking glam and fab since you’ll have so many eye shadows you will need to finally use 😂😂😂
