    Run Every Air Tool In Your Shop using the quietest compressor you've ever heard!
    How a scroll works.
    A scroll compressor has only one moving part -the rotating scroll.
    The rotating scroll is moved in an elliptical pattern by the electric motor output shaft inside of a corresponding stationary scroll. The elliptical movement pulls air in from the outer edges and efficiently compressor the air charge toward the center of the scroll. This constant displacement pump design reaches 100% volumetric efficiency and ultra-quiet operation with minimal components.
    A piston compressor utilizes many components to drive a position in reciprocating motion up and down in the cylinder. As the piston moves down in the cylinder a valve is displaced and allows air to enter, the piston then changes direction and compresses the air charge and expels the majority but not all the charge out the exhaust valve. In theory, the piston compressor can never reach 100 % volumetric efficiency as there will always be a small amount of air left in the cylinder as the piston can never touch the top of the cylinder to due mechanical interference.
    The constant change in piston direction, rotating crankshaft, metal on metal of the piston rings and cylinder wall and intake valve fluctuations all contribute to the annoying load compressor noise we are too familiar with.
    Why is a scroll better than a piston?
    A scroll compressor is truly 100% volumetrically efficient meaning all the air that is pulled into the intake side is compressed and moved through the exhaust side into the tank. The scroll has only one moving part eliminating the constant wear and blow by associated with piston compressors. The scroll rotates in one direction and is designed to run at 100% duty cycle very efficiently and the reason it only requires a 3.3HP motor to drive the scroll to 12 cfm and the best part…. The lack of noise!

    U should put the names of the guys on screen. In Europe, people get to know those persons by name, and as time goes by, the contact between customer and company feels more personal for the customer... Just an opinion. Not knowing the names of the guys feels somewhat generic, at least for europeans. Otherwise, great work !!!

      @@GGigabiteM You have many type of oil free compressors, and YES also 'piston type' mostly sell scroll type (AC) and at high power compressors the Z series from (AC) Atlas Copco., are usually powers of ~200Amp and +++.
      Because these are expensive machines, in EU (Europe) oil injected compressors are often used with spectial "food grade oil"

    I'd argue that using 'innovative' as a descriptor of technology over the course of a century, tapers in accuracy. In which case 'innovative' has completely expired at this point. Perhaps innovation should be focused on relative cost for performance.

      The tank on the Eastwood Scroll Compressor was designed with ½” fittings consistent with home shop use. As for the 100,000 hour scroll life, that is for the scroll compressor pump itself. The motor is warrantied for 2 years when wired to a circuit output of 220-240VAC. Hope this helps.

      We recommend changing the oil and filter every year. The oil can be purchased from Eastwood (which we recommend), but if you don't get your oil from Eastwood, you MUST be sure to use synthetic scroll / screw compressor oil.

    It drives all of your tools because it is designed for 100 duty cycle. How does its electric consumption compare to a 60 gallon traditional running for less time?

    • @eastwoodco
      @eastwoodco  7 лет назад +1

      Brian, let's assume the electric rate is $0.16/KW Hour. The Eastwood Scroll Compressor at 240v with the 3.3 HP motor equates to 2461 watts. Convert this to KW and multiply by $0.16 and you will have $0.39 to operate per hour. A typical 60 Gallon Piston Compressor at 240v with a 5hp motor equates to 3730 watts. Convert to KW and multiply and you have $0.59 cost to operate per hour. This means the Eastwood QST 30/60 Scroll Compressor not only saves you money when you buy it, it saves you money every time you use it! Plus it isn't much louder than a Central Air Unit. It barely makes any noise.

    now I feel kinda stupid for buying a 5hp compressor. Does this compressor have the ability to upgrade motors to something like 5hp? Can it scale up to handle something closer to 18-20cfm at 90psi?

    • @eastwoodco
      @eastwoodco  7 лет назад

      Joshua - The Eastwood QST 30/60 Scroll Cmopressor is a direct drive motor/pump assembly and the HP and motor rpm are tailored to produce the 12 cfm and 145 max psi in the most efficient and energy saving package. We do not recommend moving to a larger motor as no benefit in cfm or max pressure will be realized, just a higher energy cost. Larger units could possibly be available in the future.

    • @eastwoodco
      @eastwoodco  7 лет назад +1

      Kyle, that is a tough question because there are a few factors to consider like age of the compressor and ring wear. But let's assume you have a fairly new piston compressor. The Eastwood QST 30/60 Scroll Compressor has a very efficient oil/air separation circuit and filter to remove the majority of oil and moisture, however we still recommend an external oil/moisture filtration system, just as you would have on a standard compressor system. To answer the 2nd question, the 30/60 Scroll Compressor will feed up to a 12 cfm HVLP Paint Gun enough air to paint a vehicle at 45 psi to the gun. Hope this helps. Thanks for the interest .

    Keep the scroll from letting tank pressure leaking by.

  • @dickmick5517
    @dickmick5517 7 лет назад

    3HP unit given it pulls 15 amps at 220V. Of course the output is less than the 5hp piston compressor which are typically rated at 17 cfm.
    Comparing compressor holding tank size? Give me a break. Its hp to cfm. Tank size has nothing to do with it.
    Only real information is the DB rating and the fact the motor is 220V.
    Also listed the compressor RPM as 3000? No induction motor runs that speed, what give there?
    Quite, Ill give you that. Give me the price and where it's manufactured and Ill tell you if it will sell.
