    Bought my 6300 in 76, I think, and still works like a charm… still has the original cartridge, a micro acoustics, 2002 E. I may be upgrading that soon.

    Hi Turntable Guy. Thanks for all you do. I've seen all of your videos, some multiple times. I also do RUclips videos of vintage audio restorations. My turntable videos are some of my most watched . I've learned quite a bit from you. Especially which lubricants to use.

    Great video, thanks. I just was gifted a 6350Q. I would like to clean the switches and lube the bearing but I can't get the platter off. I don't want to damage it by forcing it. Is there a trick to this model? Should I maybe put a little lube on the spindle to loosen it?

    • @TurntableGuy
      @TurntableGuy  2 года назад

      Give the spindle a few whacks with the handle of a screw driver while lifting up

    I have this turn table and the up and down buttons currently do nothing when pressed. In your opinion will this particular fix help with it or could there be other issues preventing them from working? Thanks in advance!

    • @TurntableGuy
      @TurntableGuy  6 месяцев назад +1

      Probably dirty/bad microswitches.

    Hi, I have exactly the same turntable with the same issue for double tapping the down cue button. I don't think you showed this being fixed in the end, as it was sporadically failing. Do you or any others know of what the ultimate fix for this situation is? I've lived with this issue for years but would be curious to know if anyone solved it.

    Hi TG. Happy new year. Good vid. Have you ever worked on a Sony ps x7 ? It has a lot of internals. More than this Marantz. My x7 is acting up, including an intermittent strobe and non working repeat touch pad. I would love to see a video on it. Cheers from Toronto Canada

      Hi Michael. I'm just down the 401 in London. I think I've worked on that family of Sony before. The strobe is probably starting to die. If I get one in, I'll definitely video it.

    Thanks for this video. What lubricant are you using? You say 30. Would 3 in 1 be good? (20]. There are synthetic lubricants that are said to be good be turntables and clocks. Would they be a better choice?

    • @TurntableGuy
      @TurntableGuy  2 года назад

      I'm using an SAE30 non-detergent oil. 3-in-1 will work fine. You can use synthetic as well.

    Re stylus cleaning. There is no danger, in using alcohol, with any type of stylus. I, and many others, have been doing so, for over 20 years, with no issues.

    • @TurntableGuy
      @TurntableGuy  2 года назад

      I agree, but there are those that say that the alcohol could dissolve the glue on a bonded stylus. I've never seen that happen either.

    Great video - my 6300 has an issue where when I press the lift/lower switch for the tonearm, the tonearm will slam down or launch up. This happened progressively over a few years. Any suggestions on what to possibly look at? Thanks!

    Sir hello. İ have same 6300 and at-vm95ml. How can i determine the position of the cartridge on the shell forward or rearward position? İn the manital it says the stylus tip shall be in the center of plate. But evet i mount it back on the shell it is not in the center of plate.

    • @TurntableGuy
      @TurntableGuy  7 месяцев назад

      Just download a two-point protractor from vinylengine.com and set your cartridge up with it.

    I really do not get why these command the prices they do.. They're not even made by Marantz! 😅 The majority seem to know this too, which is the funny part. Oh well, must be a "Marantz Tax" thing! 🤷🏻‍♂️

      Because they're vintage, gorgeous, well made, and hard to find in near mint condition. They're nearly FIFTY years old and are collector's items. With the right cartridge and set-up they sound amazing.
