A friend called me from the UK saying her friend would do well with my audience. I rarely put artists up without seeing them in person first but I took her enthusiasm to heart and said "what the heck!". Ed Sheeran arrived in LA, we drove around, I showed him the sights and he MURDERED every stage we got him on!

Completely agree. I can’t see any of these new artists holding their own and impressing an unfamiliar/tough crowd like Ed was able to do at just 19 years old. I almost feel bad for him that he had to grind so hard for so long and now the come up is so much easier with the growth of social media. He paid his dues a million times more than any of these up and comers ever will, and it shows in how consistent of a performer he is.

I think the problem is, this video is hard to find. I've watched it a few times over the years and came to watch it again now and it took me 4 youtube word searches ro find it again. It should be labelled something like 'Ed Sheeren first live USA performance' or something like that and even if it's not, it should have those kinda keywords in the post, which the poster has to do in the background, which clearly hasn't happened and because it's got low views for the time it's been out RUclips doesn't push it in searches

How fucking amazing is this to watch today.. all the signs of a unique generational artist were already showing back then.. he just kept dreaming bigger, went for it and never looked back! Really inspiring!

I saw him live at the O2 after X came out. He was incredible, his use of the loop pedal is so brilliant for his style.

crazy to see how far ed has come in a few short years.. now he's playing in front of over 50,000 people but is still the same guy he was 3 years ago.. guess he never will be anything more than a singer song writer ;) gotta love him for that!

PROBABLY I have a little obssesion right now with Ed like Ed with Damien Rice in the past :)

Flypoet Spoken Word & Music Showcase - April 7, 2010.

Haha bit late to the party but just got ‘Ed Sheeran: A Visual Journey’ for Christmas, great book, love hearing about his story. Amazing for his first big gig in the US, best crowd ever, you couldn’t play in too many places and get people up on stage rapping and jamming with you, that’d be amazing😃. Also shows how much You Need Me, I Don’t Need You changed from the first times playing it to the recorded version.
