The subtitles suck👎
no one wants to see some chick who never even saw a haku match interview this legend.
What a legend. Comes across as a very nice and kind person. The fact that no one has a bad thing to say about him speaks volumes. Top class.
they wont talk shit about him cause they fear him
Why has there not been a full biography or documentary on this man’s career!?
I feel like it would with the right promotion be very popular
I THINK I SEEN HIS FULL BIOGRAPHY OR DOCUMENTARY ALREADY ALL YOU HAVE GOTTA DO IS WATCH MOST OF HIS THINGS
I was thinking the same thing
I mean, he was a jobber so...
Get the fuck outta here. Haku is a legend. Put some respect on his name
I once served Haku and his family the man is a class act. I asked about his son and he gave me proud dad vibes.
That is so awesome. All the stories you hear outside of the drunken bar fights he seems super nice. Also all of the bar fight stories people always say Haku is the nicest guy, UNTIL you get on his bad side, then he will stomp on your eyeball
Saw Haku, Nash and Bishoff in a Tahoe on the highway one afternoon! My buddies in the car with me thought I was lying until I pulled besides them while driving! We all went ham and threw up our 4Life signs! Nash was driving, Bishoff was in passenger side and King Haku stuck his head out of the back and threw up the signs with us! So cool of him and the guys and we'll never ever forget! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Haku/Meng was one of truly great and criminally underrated wrestlers of his generation. I caught the tail end of his WWF run and all of his WCW run when I was growing up. He was always one of my favorites. He could get a decent match out of just about anybody. He was extremely versatile, and could wrestle any style. He could mat wrestle and brawl, and even threw in some martial arts style offense for good measure. I'll never understand why he was never really given a long run with a belt in WWF or WCW, or even given a main event run for that matter. He was like the Dolph Ziggler of his generation. He was so good in the ring that he often ended up being used to make other guys look good, while being forgotten and overlooked himself. The fact that he is not in the Hall of Fame proves my point. He has a better resume than a lot of guys that are already in. He is one of the truly great characters of wrestling, both in and out of the ring. He hasn't competed regularly in a decade or more, and people are still talking about him. He is a legend. He should be in the Hall.
Love this man and his family. Im 44 years old now and I have known them since I was 18 years old. Nicest guy in the world but could destroy you in seconds. I enjoyed drinking with him at the local bar. I love the respect he shows me and my family as I do the same. His family is awesome.
It is all about mutual respect!!
Meng, as I knew him from his WCW days, seems like a true gentleman. It would be great to have him as a neighbor. Glad to see him looking so well.
Just don't play your music too loud
Even at his current age, I'd want none of that smoke.
Just a wisp of that smoke would make my nose fall off and my eye pop out.
Gota Try the kava from the islands
I do not want him to get those shovel hands on me. He also bites and chokes. No thank you lol
In the first 30 seconds you damn near piss your pants with him pointing that big finger at you. There's just something about the guy, even ignoring all of the stories, damn.
@nomad76 100% what a bunch of cowards ...
Haku, the toughest man who ever lived, great to hear his road stories.
What? Hes an actor like all wreetlers
@@dvr1337 You never heard the stories of him fighting? First he was trained in many fighting styles beyond wrestling as well as Sumo wrestling as a teen against older men. He was fighting older men when he was 13 training. He toss former LA Ram defensive end who weight 300 pounds across the room like it was nothing and yes the former LA Ram confirmed this story to be true and was in the paper. Yes wrestling has it's win/loss outcome prior to but this is outside of the ring. Ever hear about the Marines who called him the N word and he asked to stop and then he threw down 4 guys Marines that is for taunting him. All these were witnessed and discussed over years. He wasn't a jerk. He was humble and others came looking for a fight. Majority of all wrestlers in interviews have stated he's the toughest wrestler and one of the toughest men they were around. Do your research because I gave you enough information about Meng/Haku.
@@danieldiggs9574 is it true he bit a guys nose off for calling wrestling fake ?
@@yggdrasild755he bit a guys nose off in a bar fight but I don’t think it was because they said wrestling was fake. I think they just fucked with him, started a fight then got their ass kicked and a chunk of their nose bit off lol
Tougher than Mike Tyson??
You know Haku was freakishly strong when Animal from the Road warriors said Haku threw him around the ring like a rag doll.Animal said Haku was one of the strongest and most powerful wrestler he ever wrestled.
I believe it was Hawk who said "you can feel his power, just standing next to him"
Not even Mark Henry, dubbed the world's strongest man, can hold a candle to Haku.
@@MRWINDYMETHANE Stop man. Haku was massive but Mark Henry, Great Kali, Big Show etc are bigger and stronger. Not as good fighters as Haku though.
@@IStevenSeagal That's what I meant.
@@MRWINDYMETHANE Because of OP's comment I thought you were also refering to strengths. My bad.
I met Haku once in Florida. Cool AF. Nicest most down too earth person you will ever meet. Huge fan.
Anyone that can scare Andre the Giant has my respect.
Andre was a Racist Boozer simple ....Bad News Brown Allan put the manners on the Stink Ass Giant .
@@CP-kb1du I read that it in Bret harts book too but that was one word n I don't judge andre on it, bad news didn't because he'd said shit in the past.
If you haven't in your past said something stupid then we are all liars.
the only thing Andre was scared of was running out of Alcohol or food
Its acting not righting
@@dvr1337 that man could eat your entire body, literally.
Hearing how down to earth Haku is makes me respect him more and even The Barbarian both island boys are family men and are respected 👊🏾👊🏾🤘🏾👍🏾💪🏾
The Boogie Man checks for Chuck Norris under his bed, Chuck Norris checks for Haku.
Chuck Norris is one of Haku's students.
Boogie Man checks for Chuck Norris, Chuck Norris checks for Steve Blackman and then Steve Blackman checks for Haku.
@@incitingariot9925 Whoosh.
I.m from montreal ! Saw haku many times at CENTRE PAUL SAUVE ! dino bravo / rougeau brothers / road warriors/ abdula butcher etc !! God bless you HAKU ! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I think of all the wrestlers I'd like to meet Haku, not because of how tough he is but how nice everyone says he is
Such a humble man but yet a bad ass at the same time. Much respect for Haku a true legend and hopefully in the HOF if he isn't all ready.
Shocked he isn't in The Hall of Fame. Yet, the Bellas get in. Try making sense out of that.
@@bestinthesmokersworld2422 The Bellas got in all because of their looks and they were nice looking twins. They couldn't wrestle to me and their promos were dull. Bri was the worst of the two. Imo.
Its a Pacific thing
Is the interview about Haku or Andre? I've heard enough about Andre...
One of the toughest men to walk the planet! A legend! Haku!
Am I the first tongan person watch this💪 love and respect to this tongan legend haku 'Ofa atu ❤
Be proud young man , you come from a bloodline of strong men and legends.
Proud bloodline. King Haku..salute
No you’re the last.🤷🏽♂️🤣
Guy has style, and still looks like a badass.
EVERYONE SHOULD START WRITING COMMENTS ON EVERY WRESTLING CHANNEL SAYING WE WANT HAKU INDUCTED INTO THE HALL OF FAME.. It's really shitty that Vince didn't make that call yet, this guy is a fucking legend. I remember being 9 years old watching him fight Hulk Hogan on Saturday night... somewhere in these comments there's a guy named Kevin Schenk who pointed out the fact that he wasn't inducted, just wanted to give him his credit for knowing that because I had no clue that Haku was left out.
Haku you are an absolute legend.
You know this man is a absolute artist after you're shocked he actually speaks English. 20 years and I can't remember him saying anything in English on TV.
You’d never known Yokozuna spoke English either, these guys back then were masters of mystery.
I said same thing as a kid I never remember him ever speaking never saw him in interviews or promos everyone says and he says he's from Florida he must not be born and raised there because he has the strong accent funny thing is I've never heard any Hawaiian or Samoan speak there native language just English with a strong pacific islander accent
Haku still looks amazing! Love him
X
I first saw Haku in the Islanders - He might have been King Tonga then? Soon after with Andre - and in the Heenan family.. Bobby always spoke very highly of Haku. I always thought Haku was very smooth in the ring, strong and graceful; excellent worker. I had no idea he was a seriously legit badass until years later!
He was a nice man just wanted to work and feed his family that’s what Bobby said
I think most of the samoans and the tongans are really good worker. Even bret once said he doesn't know wrestler from the island who's a bad worker. It's probably in their genes
Not only could he whoop butt and widely respected, he sported one of the best mullets right up there with the likes of Rude and Henning.
It is time for Haku to go into the HOF he was a gentle giant but a true bad ass in real life................
I’ve been a martial for over 20 years I have competed in martial arts events even done some boxing my rank in the martial arts is 7th Dan I can hold my own . But.. there would be noway I would mess with haku he would mess me up badly!!
Lol he wasn't really a "badass", he was a guy who was trying to hang out with his buddies in bars after a match..and for some reason, the white people in these small towns couldn't resist insulting him w/ racial slurs. Can you imagine that? You're hanging with your group of white buddies, and you're the only non-white one, yet instead of appreciating the dynamic that you're all friends, some outsider singles you out the group by calling you the N word, when you're really Polynesian. I'm pretty sure he wish he never had to deal w/ that.
Thanks. That match in the end was a treat. Haku putting over a young talent.
Love that he’s reppin Bullet Club. He’s gotta be proud of Tanga Loa and Tama Tonga.
🇵🇷 Salute to King Tonga. Puerto Rican fans were really into the storylines of wrestling and sold out events everywhere. Sad we fell off after the Brody event because the WWC was a hot territory.
True that. Watching those old WWC events on youtube is a treat. They really knew how to put on a spectacle.
We love you haku ❤🙏✨
Loved this guy back in the day and I had no idea he was such a legit badass. Islanders bay-bee
The fact that everyone has these scary tough guy stories to tell about Meng...but hearing him be such a nice guy in the interview makes this interview very enjoyable.
Usually the toughest guys are the nicest people if you're not looking to mess with them.
Nice interview, i am in Montreal, wish i would have been old enough to see Meng at that time.
In 54 and I be your fan from your runs in Puerto Rico... Thanks for all. The entertainment you got all of the fans
Respect, Indeed for King Tonga. A Man's Man is right, and a Gentleman. Another fine Production by Hannible. Good Show. 👍
Should be in the HOF
This is my list that's overdue:
- Haku
- Owen Hart
- Steiner brothers
- Sable
- Stacy Keibler
- X - Pac
- Ken Shamrock
- Mike Awesome
- Dynomite kid
Demolition, Miss Elizabeth, Slick, & Rick Martel also belong, and Cyndi Lauper & Tiny "Zeus" Lister are long overdue for the Celebrity Wing.
When Haku wants to go in the Hall of Fame he will go into the Hall of Fame
Bro, Jim Johnston deserves a spot in the HOF
@@bobt1346 Wow Rick Martel is not in? Haku and Martel should be in immediately..
Andre & Haku could’ve ‘shoot’ won the tag team belts whenever they desired & held onto them for however long they desired. Andre’s size & strength are obvious to anyone, however Haku toughness is something you hear EVERY wrestler acknowledge in shoot interviews.
You know all the people were on their BEST behavior around Meng that day.
I miss wrestlers like Haku.. Even the noises that he makes throughout the match.. It's so different than everybody else.. And at this age, in 2020 I don't know how old he was - But to be able to last this long in a match at that age is incredible.. To get the gist of how truly incredible that is, The Rock returned to RAW the other night and had a little scuffle with Jinder Mahal, he just did a Spinebuster and People's elbow and you could tell he was winded and blown up..
Awesome interview, totally awesome insight into A legend, much respect
Haku
The toughest guys I've ever met are always laid back, humble, soft spoken. They have no need to act like a badass in front of people, because they already know they are.
Haku is also a legend in my eyes.
If I could pick any man on the planet to have on my side in a fight it would be Haku, even now when he is retired and older.
I met King Haku when I much younger when my dad took me to a wrestling event, he was just so awesome and I find it very hard to choose between my top five favorite wrestlers Of which King Haku is one. I always liked him, Andre, Arn, Tully, and the Barbarian.
Man.. what a nice fella.. Humility.. it shines.
Awesome thank you, Loved Haku!!!!!!!!
He has a terrifying precence regardless, nice to see him rocking Bullet Club.
Haku is awesome and an absolute legend!
Loving this one thanks for sharing very information blessed love to all knowledge is power hopefully everyone pays attention keep up the good work 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
This man is a living legend I hope I can meet him 1 day
I was in Kansas City one night in 95 and seen Haku put down 8 people in the bar , and 2 bouncers . Ten men total , and these weren't little dudes it was like a movie scene , arms broke , noses broke , blood everywhere , this was a human wrecking machine !!
Fr? I'm from and still live in Kansas City, so that's awesome to know Haku kicked ass in my City.
People see movies where Arnold takes out five guys at a time, and think its possible.
Honestly, even if youre tough, two or three guys at once is not an easy thing to overcome lol. For a guy to be able to take out ten guys, and a bunch at the same time, is incredible. Dude is an animal.
This man literally knocked out several Marines who were accosting him at a bar, he also put his finger in some guys eye socket and told the person bugging him "Brother if you don't stop im going to eat this eyeball". He also lifted one drunk Native dude off the floor that was mouthing off vulgarities to one of his friends with the Tongan death grip and literally made him pass out and slammed him near the bathroom floor. This is the same man that it took 11 police officers to subdue.
Haku is literally one man that almost the entire WWF roster respects...and fears. Also a down to earth nice guy, just don't push his buttons and you'll be fine. Haku is a LEGEND
Also this. Those WWF lockerrooms were filled with tough guys. A lot of bad asses, so for them to be scared of this guy, and stay on his good side, that shows you how tough Haku was.
The match at the end of the interview reminds me of the early days of wrestling when I was a kid watching mid Atlantic wrestling in the early eighties. That was awesome. Thank you Haku.
In all RESPECT, Haku is KING shit. The most lovable, but feared man on the planet. The stories about him are epic. I am 48, been a fan of wrestling sense I was 5. Saw him from the beginning ... a Japan episode maybe. Early 80's I saw him as King Tonga from Canada. I war raised in North Dakota, so Canadian Wrestling was common.
No matter the facts, Tonga 'Uli'uli Fifita, best wrestler/person ever.
King Shit means way different than I think u intended. You've just said he's f all, nothing, a nobody...
Legend. Remember him mostly from his wcw run. Always loved the faces of fear tag matches.
Haku-meng was a great wrestler
One of the toughest men ever in a ring right here or outside the ring. His toughness in the locker room is the stuff of legend. Nice man but DONT get on his bad side. Just like Andre
6:32 Haku saying "Va donc chier tabarnak" just completed my life 😂😂😂
Watched back to back “Faces of Fear” , well done!
A true legend Haka aka Meng aka King Tonga is and always will be the man
Haku the legend. One of the great sand brilliant athletes. Undertaker vs. Meng is one of the great wrestling matches of all-time.
Great interview
King Haku is a living legend...
One of my favorite of all time. Good dude, very respected
I'll I have to say to Haku is "YES SIR! YES SIR! YES SIR!" "Anything you say SIR!"
I always liked him when he was wrestling I said he could beat anyone of the other wrestler but he never got the promotion for some reason but he was tough as hell on tv I can only imagine how he is real life
I was at the hospital about to watch my baby be born but As soon as he said watch Hannibal tv I stopped everything I was doing and went home and put Hannibal tv on and it’s on repeat to this day
How is this guy not in the HOF?
This guy is a legit wrestling legend
One of my Favourite Wrestlers!
Haku/Meng
Oh as meng he was no joke .the bodyguard .As haku I never knew him to b as savage as when he was meng .I never knew him personally, but much respect .
True gentlemen class act and very respectful
Laura The Hannibal TV Reporter did a fantasticinterview well done..
She made him laugh and he felt comfortable with her
From all the stories I heard about Haku, I would not doubt that he could pull you through the screen and completely destroy you.
I'm remember when King tonga wrestling in WWC PUERTO RICO. KING TONGA IT Was a great wrestler I remeber one day he was fight in the STREET in PUERTO Rico then the Police need 6 People for controling to him he was stronger man and fight art marcial congratulacion
I'm so proud to have an uncle who helped WWF and the love and respect he gets from wrestling legends, only one who comes close would be the other King Harley Race another beast outside the ring, don't ever say wrestling is fake to their faces
Cool stuff i hope to read a book about him one day.
Haku’s voice sounds stronger than when he was younger.
Haku...... A sweetheart in person but if you flexed him the wrong manner 😱
60 degrees in Florida cold jacket weather.. Love Meng!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you!!!!!!

If Andre won’t mess this man, that should tell you something.
Haku the legend.. is one bad ass man.. you don't mess with.. but you respect him n give the great man the love.. Haku will love you back.

2) Haku pushes down the Earth when he does a pushup.
3) Haku will never get a terminal illness because cancer is terrified of him.
4) Haku can sleep through a hurricane and cook a meal through an earthquake.
5) Internet trolls and keyboard warriors look over their shoulder for Haku before hitting enter
6) Haku is stronger... then Chuck Norris?? Nah... 🤭
The shoot I always wanted.
This man was always so much fun to watch.
The man .. the myth .. THE LEGEND !!!
Putting Haku and the Giant in the octagon during their prime would have been so epic
Hey Bruddah! Much love to you and your family.
It is scientifically impossible not to love this man.
Man king Tonga is so awesome. I always wanted to meet him. He was one of my favorite wrestlers of all time when I was a kid.
There are some wrestlers that were badasses and then there is haku. Totally different level
Coming in hella late, just to say this is probably my fave vid on here
