I love clawhammer style. Thats how how banjo was originally played before they pir resonators on it and used picks and stuff. Its amazing hearing the original banjo tune. I love banjo either way though. Im currently learning it myself. Wanted to pick up a new instrument and decided on banjo.
This is great. I was just sitting here playing a clawhammer version of Cripple Creek on a new Ozark Banjo Co. Banjo that I just bought yesterday in Mt View Arkansas, and this popped up in my feed. 😂 Is RUclips listening to me?!?! (This is from 4 months ago, and it just popped in my feed)
I don't know what Georgia style actually means but Josh has syncopated way of articulating skip notes that seems uniquely his. And it sounds awesome. Heck of a banjo player.
POV- your tied up in a 14 foot flat bottom boat with a old 5 horse evinrude and your killer is sitting facing you and playing this before you take a forever dive into 8 feet of water.😂😂😂😂😂😂
What model banjo is this? It’s the exact tone I’m looking for. Such a beautiful sound and playing:) thank you for the video and I hope to hear about what banjo it is
Thanks! It’s actually a banjo I built a while back, so unfortunately isn’t one you can get anywhere. It’s strung with Aquila Nylguts, which is part of the tone that you hear.
Man why doesn’t stuff like this blow up. It 100% deserves it
Too many people think the banjo is a hick instrument. They are missing out 😅

You’re telling me, a bassist, that all this time I could’ve slapped the banjo like a bass? Sign me up
I went from bass to banjo, made guitar sooooo boring
I like your vocal man, it's just goes so clean on cripple creak
I want a banjo so I can play it for my future kids out on the porch one day. Just comfy fire, night out, and chilly air with a comfy banjo playing.
Love it! Nylon string clawhammer banjos have such a great sound...
They sure do!

Wow I didn't even know this song has lyrics!! Great playing hope I could learn that someday soon too!!!
I have been looking for a slower version of this tune and I found it. You should have over 100K likes
So sweet! Great jammin’ beat. Reminds me a little bit of Dwight Diller. Super good.
Got me clog dancing

@@ClawhammerBanjo wow!!! That’s amazing man! Sounds unbelievable :) keep on playing it sounds great
Good stuff brother, clawhammer is the best sounding technique in my opinion. Grandpa and String did it the best.
Sounds great. What tuning is that? And capo on the second?
What makes this sound different from your other rendition of cripple creek? Sounds great btw
Not positive but it seems like the banjo doesn’t have steel strings on it, which could make the sound a little softer/mellow
Kinda looks like the banjo equivalent of slap bass
I love playing Cripple Creek in clawhammer, what makes this "Georgia Style"? I'm a Georgia boy myself
Me to I live in Georgia
Wow ❤
What kinda strings you working with here?
Nice
Every guy who sings banjo always has the same sound in his voice. I had to say it I had to
Woow
What string do you use?
This banjo has Aquila Nylguts.
i thought this was gonna be cripple creek by the band
