Incredible work! I haven’t seen many Greyjoy paint schemes let alone ones this high quality. The logic explanation behind the colour choices was a fantastic add, thank you!
These look fantastic, you can tell a lot of work went into these. I’ve been struggling with painting mine but I got a couple of ideas from this, for basing especially! Keep it up!
Thanks Brent! Glad you got some ideas from the video. Greyjoys are a fun faction to paint, but definitely present some unique challenges if you want to lean into a grimy, scruffy Viking aesthetic.
What a job man! I have seen a lot of painted armys but this one is just... completely overwhelming! I would really liked to see a sand, beach-like base for the army because of the Greyjoy's environment but I understand your philosophy... you nailed it!
Thanks so much for that compliment! That’s high praise. I hope to make an update video eventually when I paint the rest of the Greyjoy units. Also stay tuned for future showcase videos for my other armies.
Thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed the video! The cloak colors are based off of Scalecolor Boreal Green and Caspian Blue. I add various grays to those to achieve the final look. I believe I explain the colors later in the video.
That’s great to hear! Greyjoys are in a really good place in the game’s meta right now too, so it’s a good time to pick them up. You’ll need to download and print off card updates for the faction, but that’s easily done from the game’s official website.
Fantastic work! Consistent, thematic and brilliantly executed. Only feedback I'd give is to add the same muddy effect used on the hem of the cloaks to the hands and forearms of the drowned men, they currently look a little too clean.
The rocks on these bases and movement trays are a mix of another bag of larger sized Woodland Scenics talus, and a miscellaneous baggie of slightly smaller but sharp-shaped rocks I picked up a while back from War World Scenics.
Thanks, I paint the dirt effect by drybrushing a light-colored earth color to represent dried mud, and then drybrush a darker colored mud color toward the bottom of the cloak to represent fresher mud. You'll want to drybrush less of the cloak with the darker color, to show that there's older dried mud at the top.
Awesome paint jobs, great work, thanks for sharing

OUTSTANDING WORK!!
Always enjoy your ASOIAF content & battle reports.
Thanks Woody, I’m glad you’re enjoying the content!
Looks great! I agree with the basing philosophy. It is what I do as well.
Great minds think alike. 😄

Looking fantastic! Haven't played but I also choose Greyjoy cause of the style and look.

@@imperialminis857 Thanks! I edited the comment cause I wass till watching but seems like it showed you the original. Anyhow big thank you :)
Great video Randall! 😊 Would like to see more videos longer that!
I’m glad you enjoyed it! I’m considering doing a start-to-finish video on how I paint the next unit I’m working on.
This had inspired me to look into getting a starter such amazing models thank

The dirty looks on the cloaks are beautiful
Thank you, I think it’s a nice and simple touch to ground the models to the basing.

That’s a great suggestion and something I may go back and add to the Drowned Men! They definitely need to look dirty.
Very, very well done man.
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Do you buy rocks or find your own while out and about?

This is insane. How u make this dirty cloak?
