    A great day in the woodyard with Phil and Karen. Thanks for coming over to see me and Karen and the 37 D. We got used to watching your videos all the time so it's nice to have some facetime. And as far as the rusty conveyor goes, it's only got a little rust on the Chain but it can certainly visit your yard sometime if you would like it to.

    Hello Phil and Karen. Phil, now that’s what you need the 37D is the answer. I’m sure Karen would have no problem agreeing to that purchase. The difference between him and you is that he used an excavator to load the rounds on the splitter and you used Karen Power to load yours. You might have had the advantage with that. Thanks for another good video.

      Good point. When I ran fails 500 I noticed it seemed to have more torque when deep in the cut. Have to hold off the 572 just a little bit. Maybe a little smaller displacement and shorter stroke? and not as much torque as the 500.

      I didnt really notice a difference in ballance a saw is a saw to me kinda like driving a chevy or a ford they both will get ya there . I only made 4 or 5 cuts with it so not a real true test i guess . But like Jim said below the 500 had a lil more power when ya really down in the wood but there is a difference in cc betwean the 2 saws .

      This was our first time being up close an personal with a Easton made an i can honastly say they are ruged machines . To me a saw is a saw dont matter what color it is so im not partial to any brand but im that way with most every thing . Lb for lb the 2 saws are the about the same but the husky is lacking a lil under the hood compared to the 500 when ya really push on it . Im told the 592 is more comparable but it weighs in a lil bit heavier .

    I would love to get an Eastonmade splitter with a log lift. As I have gotten older, I can't lift the pieces on any longer. I have a Timberwolf and love it, but it doesn't have a log lift. I have met Andrew and would like to support him but I'm old and don't have the income for a new unit. I think I would like an Axis but have only but 2 rounds through one at the Paul Bunyon show. I would like to spend a day with one. I get a lot of big rounds on my place but mostly hickory. I don't think the box wedge works well with hickory, it is pretty stringy. That was some good looking oak. If you have chains for a Stihl, they don't fit anything else. I went to Echo and have had to have all my chains shortened.

      I thought the log lift would get in the way, but as you can see in the video it really helps. You could copy the design and weld one up pretty easy for your timberwolf. It's nice with the nylon roller underneath so when you lower it it can't hurt anyone it just floats.

    • @AllenFamilyFirewood
      @AllenFamilyFirewood  8 месяцев назад +2

      I had never had a log lift till Dana built Buster for us last spring an i can tell ya there worth every penny . Log lifts are kinda like having a cab on the tractor i never knew i needed one till i had one an now i wouldnt be without either . Ive never split hickory but im sure any of the vertical splitters would handle it just fine . Maybe try finding a local guy or kid going to welding school that wants a project an get them to rig up a log lift on ya splitter that way you would only have to pay for materials . Check with ya local vocational school an i bet they could get it done for ya an its usually just the cost of the iron an parts .

    • @chestertwitchell4090
      @chestertwitchell4090 8 месяцев назад

      I'm guessing it might depend on your needs. Some of those vertical splitters work great for selecting nice clean bundle wood and being able to split quickly. For those of us who have to work with big wood, I like the 37 D because it has a 25 horsepower Kubota diesel that should last at least 15000 hrs.

    • @AllenFamilyFirewood
      @AllenFamilyFirewood  8 месяцев назад

      I think if i had the money it would be a processor from eastonmade . They just had a video out last week with there processor running a 16 way wedge . Siting in a cab an making wood would be very productive . All i have ever split with since a kid is a vertical so my choice would be an axis mostly because its the most versatile from making bundle wood on up to big wood but everyone has different needs an different splitters specialize in different things it all really comes down to what you need it to do .

Took the sàw to a stihl dealer they said since I had won the saw in a raffle they said stihl wouldn't warranty it. I was some mad, so mad I took the and put it in the garbage can, now its in a place where all stihls products belong in the land fill. I'll keep my huskys.
