I was at Elysian park in in 93 when the representatives called actives to a meeting where they made it clear that drive by’s are done. You’d be looked at the same as a rapist or child molester if you got locked up for a drive by. It was celebrated by the city and a lot of the hoods were cool with it. Then it became clear that the meeting wasn’t really about stopping drive by’s. It was to get everyone together under one umbrella so they could start taxing us and the drive by’s were stopped only because they brought too much attention and that’s bad for business. It was all about money. Some hoods refused and were green lit. If you know you know. It got bloody for some hoods. It got really crazy for a little while. In the end it cooled down and those hoods that were green lit eventually fell in line. So to see this 30 or so years later is crazy. It’s the same idea just on a bigger scale. Instead of southern Cali it’s anyone under the 13 in the country. I’m 45 now but I still remember how crazy it got for LA for a little while. I can’t lie and say I’m not interested to see how this goes.

I think his name was either Big Slugger or King Dynamite that began to align with the eMe/SUR in Florence and it spread to the Utah Department of Corrections where a small faction of O13 called the meat heads still hold out but for the overwhelming majority they are SUR in the prisons. Many of the influential O 13 that didn't want to be SUR got hit and if you pay attention to the news you see a lot of shootings involving Ogden 13 against Norteños including one where 2 youngsters killed a Norteño Veterano. Also in the joint there was a well known incident where I believe 3 or 4 Norteños were either working out or posted up under the stairs and 12 or 13 Ogden 13 attacked them. The streets are completely different from what I know also the whole tax thing hasn't taken hold yet as far as I know that is changing

I lived in vegas on south valley view and sahara 88'-91', just a few blocks southwest of Playboys (now a Blood set) and Westside P hoods (which were literally right next to Valley View and I think another Crip set). But I dont recall any craziness from them like when the LA chicanos were setting up sets. 28th St and San Chucos back then were the main varrios in LV.
I grew up in San Diego, I won't say the hood for obvious reasons. I never grew to be a somebody as they say but being around you meet people and in that little bit of time we had a emero who was signing the hood. Within months the emero was using, and mentioned that whenever they had their meetings. He would make sure he wasn't too high to avoid getting called out. The hood lost the og in a set up, got blasted on a tax run set up by the emero. Later that same time he would use that as intimidation to the hood runners by asking them if they wanted what happend to the og to happen! To to them. It was a loosing situation. I pulled out of the scene by God's plan, and what is happening and has continued to happen is more and more of our babies being sucked up into this shit. As a mother now it's made me look at the politics differently. Because we are k our own. We are making our hoods into drug neighborhoods and everything surrounds that. And today we are fighting the politics from the Government and from the raza. And their both fighting for power and control and our kids.the ones who are paying is us. Don’t see much attraction of the gang lifestyle if you want to stay out of prison. Drug trafficking, extortion, gambling etc, have a strong RICO component. Which means if you’re convicted, you’re going to get “hit” with a huge amount of years. Once you’ve got a record, you’re kind of stuck in that lifestyle, because it’s harder to get hired in a legit job. So some folks don’t have a choice once they get started “in the life”.

It was to get everyone together under one umbrella so they could start taxing us and the drive by’s were stopped only because they brought too much attention and that’s bad for business. It was all about money. Some hoods refused and were green lit. If you know you know. It got bloody for some hoods. It got really crazy for a little while. In the end it cooled down and those hoods that were green lit eventually fell in line. So to see this 30 or so years later is crazy. It’s the same idea just on a bigger scale. Instead of southern Cali it’s anyone under the 13 in the country. I’m 45 now but I still remember how crazy it got for LA for a little while. I think his name was either Big Slugger or King Dynamite that began to align with the eMe/SUR in Florence and it spread to the Utah Department of Corrections where a small faction of O13 called the meat heads still hold out but for the overwhelming majority they are SUR in the prisons. Many of the influential O 13 that didn't want to be SUR got hit and if you pay attention to the news you see a lot of shootings involving Ogden 13 against Norteños including one where 2 youngsters killed a Norteño Veterano. Also in the joint there was a well known incident where I believe 3 or 4 Norteños were either working out or posted up under the stairs and 12 or 13 Ogden 13 attacked them. The streets are completely different from what I know also the whole tax thing hasn't taken hold yet as far as I know that is changing

I grew up in San Diego, I won't say the hood for obvious reasons. I never grew to be a somebody as they say but being around you meet people and in that little bit of time we had a emero who was signing the hood. Within months the emero was using, and mentioned that whenever they had their meetings. He would make sure he wasn't too high to avoid getting called out. The hood lost the og in a set up, got blasted on a tax run set up by the emero. Later that same time he would use that as intimidation to the hood runners by asking them if they wanted what happend to the og to happen! To to them. It was a loosing situation. I pulled out of the scene by God's plan, and what is happening and has continued to happen is more and more of our babies being sucked up into this shit. As a mother now it's made me look at the politics differently. Because we are k our own. We are making our hoods into drug neighborhoods and everything surrounds that. And today we are fighting the politics from the Government and from the raza. And their both fighting for power and control and our kids.the ones who are paying is us. Working hard to continue to run in place. God's plan is not this. And I'm a fighter by all means necessary! I appreciate your fight and truth. So I subscribed. Keep up the good work.
