Good video, thank you. When the PATS unit goes bad, what are the symptoms? Because I'm not getting anything, when I turn the key, no dash lights, nothing. The only thing that moves is the oil pressure gauge. (2002 Ford Ranger)
Would this be the cause to a rapid blinking Theft light on a 99 ford ranger 3.0 v6 ? Anytime it blinks rapidly it won’t let me start it up.. I already got a whole new key and had it reprogrammed at the Ford dealer but the theft light still keeps coming back blinking rapidly and won’t let me start the truck sometimes.
Ugh, unfortunately it's connected to the PCM and it can't be disabled or left unplugged. I've heard of a bypass kit but I have no firsthand knowledge on its cost or effectiveness.
Finally somebody who knows what they are talking about! I appreciate the video!
I've been doing this for nearly 9 years. A lot of trial and error 😂. Thanks for the compliment.
Thank you for this, but what is the point of removing this box if it doesn't bipass the anti theft, and you cannot drive the truck??

I have an 04 with the same symptoms. Were you able to resolve the issue?

Sounds very likely. It could be a poor connection at the module as well. It's an easy replacement aside from any syncing that may be needed.
Yeah it is I actually fixed my late grandpas 2003 ford ranger today having the same problem and all I had to do was replace SKIM module
can this cause scanner to not be able to connect with vehicle and anti theft light@@CrowtownAuto
@@LitBubbaOfficial like the truck computer and nots pats box?
can i just leave it unplugged and still drive my truck?
