I have to make a correction. The story about the pins being the reason for the scene cut is bogus (I now know). This was 'spin' that fed through to the model dept from the Art dept. The real reason was a monumental continuity error, caused by someone changing the functions of the Vogon ships....The labels on the Art dept drawings 'constructor' and 'destroyer' were ignored and they were reversed without our knowledge. We were told to make a Destroyer, but they had re-allocated a constructor for that purpose at the start of the film (the tall thin ones) without telling us. we made a short flat one and then you see a tall thin one coming in to land on Vogon....OOPS!! All it would have taken is a phone call " oh, by the way guys, you're now making a 'constructor' because we turned it into a destroyer". Watch the film. You can see that this is the reason.
i can not find this documentary anywhere, streaming or for sale. I wish the producers would get it released someplace.

Thanks for posting that. I love finding out what the little parts in kitbashed models are really from.
+tetsuoswrath Most of Moon was scratch built...not 'kitbashed', sorry.
+sculptorguy You can't just go around shattering people's paradigms and introducing new terms like that! lol Thank you for the clarification. :{
@ 9:24... "You can't wear a mask all day" - very well said; should apply to everyone everywhere these days.
