I've been avoiding watching this - wondered why they were recommending apartments to me when I left my tiny shoebox in Japan behind years ago. Well I finally clicked the link and I thought I was on the Living Big in a Tiny House channel for a bit but then I realised it was *you* Scott Turner - well it must be Grand Designs then. But seriously - you could rent those 42 rooms out in Tokyo for like - a thousand bucks a month. Well that's my comment - and now for an American style comment - you sir, are a master craftsman. Or a millennial Australian comment - That was awesome, r u going 2 sell it? 🥓👍 (Love it man - watched on day 1 - still subbed!)
haha now, that is funny. whats also funny is that here in America... people want to downsize to a shoebox on wheels. I like my running water, air conditioning, not having to climb down a treehouse ladder at 4 am to take a piss... I'm a simple man. Just, not THAT simple.
In Ireland they'd call each and every one of these boxes "spacious apt" so yeah. Over a decade here and still can't get used to what they call a house here Rob.
Came across your channel the other day and ended up with a cold breakfast so decided to watch it in the evening ..... got warm beer now. Watching you MIG weld takes me back 40 years, I can smell the metal being cut, and I miss my Hardinge lathe! Brilliant craftsmanship and thank you for sharing your skills.
Marathon project! I’m really grateful that you take the time to share your work with us. And I hope you don’t have to do another box joint for a very long time!
Scott I’m amazed at your patience and it really shows in the craftsmanship. I personally know how much work those finger joints took and it just hurts watching lol. Came out so amazing brother. I’m so glad you got this project posted. Cheers
Wow, such talent and knowledge. Helps to have the right tools for the job. I am a female and widowed pensioner but have lots of great ideas. wish I had someone like you to carry then out. My husband was a great carpenter and I am kicking myself for not taking advantage of his talent with my own ideas. Thank you
I think the use of that many finger joints shows the dedication you have to what you do. It’s tedious work but that’s the reason I like watching your videos. You do amazing work and it’s the little details like all of those joints that sets your work at a higher level than most people who make things in their garages. Thank you for your excellent videos!
AMAZING CRAFTSMANSHIP SCOTT... MICHAEL ANGELO, DA VINCI AND REMBRANDT... THEY COULDN'T HAVE BUILT THIS CABINET... THOSE AMATEURS COULDN'T EVEN WELD... THANKS FOR POSTING... I'M REALLY GLAD I WATCHED...
You made it easy to watch a 30 min video without skipping forward. But I can't decide if you're a better wood or metal worker. Your welds are gorgeous and the rosewood framed in green was spot on! Good on ya mate!
I could do this, build all the pieces put them all together pretty simple really... except that nothing would be square, nothing would fit right. I really admire your work.
Thank God... You have Retrieved the video.. I'm enjoying watching and learning... God plus you and thank you for your efforts and learning us some of your knowledge..
Thank you for posting this Scott. You are a true craftsman. You have helped me get back into the workshop doing things that are far more fulfilling than watching TV in the evenings. Amazing workmanship Sir!
i love the mix of timber and metal. Forme Industrious is a very apt name. Its the sort of furniture I would buy and be extremely proud of. Luckily I am not the sort of homemaker that likes to shift furniture around for decorative purposes. I love the castor wheels too. So 18th century Steampunk kind of feel.
This is absolutely stunning! Oh, the hours that you put into that. How beautifully made. Every task was so mesmerizing. You are truly an artist. Thanks for sharing this!
The shot where you push the drawers out from the other side one by one was fun. I've wanted to build an apothecary cabinet but the idea of making 50 drawer boxes.....eeggh. I've always admired how you push through the tedious subtasks on your projects. Top work as always, Mr Turner.
Not only is the art you crafted from mind to hand... it was a combination of pulling from friends... seeing the tedious tasks through... learning... overcoming frustrating obstacles... then landing on your feet with pride. That's what we call, "badass". BTW... grandfather worked at the studebaker factory in Indiana... great taste in "formes"
@@ScottTurnerformeindustrious anytime, Scott. Those wheels had to set you back $100 USD a pop. You source those locally? Been needing those exact wheels for a vintage steel and wheel factory cart.
I tought i was watching the smurfs when that cabinet collapsed. Awsome build man! I'm working on something simular right now. It was nice to see how you did it!
I have to say, that is one beautiful storage bin. Being a carpenter I can appreciate the amount of work that went into making this. Great project. Great video. Cheers.
For a "hairbrained" idea thats well worth the end result and all the time and effort you put into it.... Just awesome, and the green paint on the frame with that stunning wood stain were made for each other, look the canines gonads !!!....
Hi, from one Aussie to another, just came across your channel (& subbed) this is the best set of drawers I have ever seen, stunning. Lot of work but wow worth it, congrats &proud to know you are an Aussie
Wow! The tedium of some of those processes must have tested your resolve and stamina. Well done! It really is sexy! You combined the wood and steel very tastefully. I just hope you never have to paint the frame again after locking the cabinets in place like that. I do agree that the drawer fronts standing proud definitely makes it look sexier.
You're right. This was a hair brained idea with a ridiculous amount of work but OMG, such beauty. The only problem is that you end up opening 8 drawers to find the item you put there months ago. Fantastic job.
Since you had issues with the plywood, add a bit of paraffin or wax along edges or faces of drawers to preserve it from wear of friction. Too beautiful to disintegrate from use in this lifetime.
You sir, have my "dream job"!!! To have my own shop to basically "play" in all day long, has to be wonderful!!! I'm sure you still get frustrated here and there, but nothing like working at a dead end job at a factory!!
OMG!!! With all the videos I have watched of folks making stuff that I would be willing to attempt to make, you have made something I am not even going to pretend I can do. That is beautiful !!! And worth all the hours it took you to make.
How is it that everything you build I want in my shop? Lol I especially like how you matched the grain of the wood for each row of drawers. My OCD thanks you. Lol Great job as always, Cheers!
It's beautiful, but I feel that when the drawers are full it will be hard to open with those tiny knobs. That's the reason most cabinet pull knobs are mushroom shaped.
These storage cabinets are absolutely amazing. Very functional, and very artistic. Cannot emphasize enough the beauty you display in your builds. Please keep 'me coming.
Nice work Scott. You must be glad that's over 😁. Now you need to make space in your shed for it. Loved the fact you also showed one of TSV local Business. I haven't been on you tube for a while, did you start making t-shirts with your brand now! Anyway Scott keep up the great work/content as always.
Hi Eddie. It's good that it's dome now and starting to transfer things into it. I have had some shirts made and I'm just testing them out atm. Plan to have them on my web site soon. Thanks Eddie and all the best.
The cabinet is beautiful. But the thing that is impressing me the most is the efficient way you manage the workflow in a tiny shop. Outstanding design, outstanding execution, outstanding result.
Really cool build, yes maybe the sexiest yet :) Do you find the NG Rosewood a bit soft? I had some and it nicked and dented real easy. Oh, and you either need labels on all those drawers, or a darn good memory Scott!
Hi Rob, time will tell I guess with the Rosewood. I did have one part that chipped on my that I had to fix by blending the chip out. It was only small. Well, my memory is not bad for some things.....I you ask my wife, well she would laugh. I have a system, a row for screws, a row for bolts (washers and nuts etc), a row for other fasteners. Electrical, tapes, sanding etc and the rest is a free for all :) Cheers Rob

But you would have made it and enjoyed yourself along the way.Thank you Jim - appreciated!

had the same thought. Especially when it got to the thousands of tiny finger joints. Let alone cutting rosewood with a pull saw with no fence.
Maintaining that kind of precision with both metal and wood is beyond impressive. More please...
Thank you Micheal! Very kind!
I think this one project has more finger/box joints than most woodworkers cut during their entire lifetime.
Totally agree - I've cut enough to last a life time
That is one gorgeous industrial looking cabinet, thank you for sharing. 👍👍👍👍👍
Fabulous piece of useable art. It’ll last a lifetime. Always look forward to your videos. Thanks for sharing.

Phorrrr (Love it :) Feet are up and beer is being absorbed! Thanks as always Annie!
Glorious work, Scott! I love how you kept the continuity of the grain across the fronts of the drawers.
Thanks Mark! I not allowed to muddle the drawers up so I numbered then all underneath just in case. Cheers!
