Norway supports research and development of aquaculture in many developing countries, including Mozambique where the sector is rapidly growing.
In this film you meet Eunisse da Silva from The Royal Norwegian Society for Development (Norges Vel) in Mozambique - a valued partner for local economic development - responsible for the aquaculture project in the Chokwe region of Mozambique.
You also meet Dr. Rafael Rafael, the Managing Director of CEPAQ (Centro de Pesquisa em Aquacultura), an important player in the development of the aquaculture sector in Mozambique. Supported by Norway and Iceland, CEPAQ contributes to profitable farming of the species Tilapia.
The Norwegian Fish for Development (FfD) programme provides support to the establishment of secure and sustainable fisheries and ecosystems within our partner countries, and also to an increased level of sustainable production of fish and seafood. Increased knowledge and improved framework conditions are key components.
