I think the G4 Whāki used to start around near where the shuttle drop of is and ran kinda along side the road for a bit then drop down. Looks like the start section is still there on the map as Whāki link.
@@thesingletracksurfer At time 1:13 on your video, you can see the start of the 'Old Farky'. I don't now what date your video was shot on but that old 'entrance' was cleared. In fact the whole old trail has been cleared.
@@tylerpaulmtb1926 Like I said above, the old part can be accessed from the new one - just keep an eye out to your left (1:13 in this video) for some pine branches that have been put over the old trail to 'discourage' people from using the old one. Why? RLDC want new trails to finish at hub one so you buy coffee and trinkets and gondola rides in the future.
