    What is the long term success rate of this treatment?
    What do your patients say after 6 months?
    It sounds like after a few days of treatment everything is fine again - which (sorry to say that) sounds too good to be true.
    After having spent quite some money on some useless treatments & tools, I have become sceptical.
    How can the injured tendons heal so quickly?

    This is one of about five things people should do to treat tennis elbow. 1) massage entire arm like in this video 2) ice elbow 3) variety of stretches 4) compression! The most important thing! Find a good tight elbow pad/sleeve. It should cure it. It did mine

    • @Dr.Jacobs
      @Dr.Jacobs  4 года назад +2

      @ginzalili, unfortunately, research and my own personal experiencing using the techniques show that the above approaches do not provide long term relief for patients. Scar tissue and soft tissue release, along with addressing inflammation with ASTR's protocol, including addressing prevention and re-education is the key to long term pain relief.

    • @Dr.Jacobs
      @Dr.Jacobs  3 года назад

      @IanBroom Many patients use foam rollers, massage and similar techniques as what you are mentioning, but the problem is that the pain comes back. The reason why this happens is because tennis elbow patients typically have inflammation in their elbow and the only way to get that under control is by following our inflammation protocol in ASTR's online home treatment program. The other issue is that a baseball cannot release fascia and it cannot break down deep scar tissue. Our tools work because they address the various layers of fascia and scar tissue. It is very important that patients follow our home treatment programs as well because I go over proper posture, body mechanics, ergonomics and exercises. Most of my patients with tennis elbow have it because they are either sleeping or working with terrible posture or they are doing something wrong mechanically/ergonomically that is causing the tennis elbow. To address the source of why you have tennis elbow, you would need to re-evaluate there areas and make adjustments, in order to see long term outcomes.
      Here is my protocol for Tennis Elbow:
      -Patient tool kit
      -Upgrade to Magnaheal 2 Wearable Belt (If inflammation is severe or if tennis elbow is a chronic issue)
      -Step-by-step program for Elbow
      -Inflammation Supplement Kit (for moderate to severe inflammation or chronic condition)

    What made you want to work his biceps up to his shoulder and down to his hand?

    • @Dr.Jacobs
      @Dr.Jacobs  3 года назад +1

      Hi @ Steven B, great question. The biceps and triceps muscles are attached from the shoulder joint to the elbow joint. Any scar tissue and fascia restrictions in these muscles causes pulling on the elbow. Our muscle should act like a rubber band when contract and relax it should be able to stretch. When there is a scar tissue and fascia restriction it is like there is a knot in the rubber band and it will decrease range of motion and cause pain. I have to make sure that there is no scar tissue or fascia restriction in the entire muscle to gain full range of motion and decrease pain. Aside from the bulging disc in his back, I have the exact same symptoms as this guy in terms of lateral epicondylitis and a lack of stability in my shoulder/rotator cuff. I have recently gone to physical therapy, where they gave me band activities to strengthen the many muscles in my back and others for my forearm, but my physical therapist has used similar techniques as in this video to help relieve symptoms, except she uses an oil and a tool best described as a metal scraper. At home I have used castor oil and a wrench and it essentially does the same thing.....which has somewhat helped alleviate pain, but is def not the “be all, end all” to solve the issue. I have been doing PT for over a month now and the lateral epicondylitis has not gone away yet. :-/
    However, I have mixed in some baseball activities (throwing and hitting) that may have set me back because I experienced pretty severe pain last week right at the insertion point on the outside part of the elbow. I am hoping that doing all of this (stretching of triceps and forearms, PT for back and forearm muscles, scraping and massaging of the triceps and forearm muscles) for another month will correct the issue. I have a bad feeling that it’s going to take longer.....

    This is a revisited form of the graston technique. I made graston tools out of wood and high gloss finish. I've been using them for years getting knots out of my reachable muscles and massage lotion. Not much of a new invention or idea...sorry just being honest.

      This is not revisited Graston technique. I explain the difference between Graston and ASTR in the following video ruclips.net/video/dgtezZu8l4E/видео.html ASTR is a biopsychosocial treatment model that utilizes unique ASTR instruments, maneuvers, theories, and methodologies to treat pain at its source. ASTR treatment includes working on multiple aspects including: scar tissue, fascia restriction, trigger points, muscle spasms, ergonomics, gait, exercise, nutrition, inflammation, stress management, and behavior modification.

    This video said nothing about what ASTR is the abbreviation for. nor gave any useful advice on how to relieve tennis elbow. A pity also that Dr Jacobs hadn't asked the woman or women talking loudly in the background (which at times drowned out Joseph's speech) to speak quietly (if at all) while making this recording.
