@@JessicaS40 This is great but it's too long between updates. There is nothing as good as this on the net elsewhere. Richard should become a full time professional modeller for our continual viewing pleaure!
I love the waiting when you bring out a new video I get taken away from reality, Then I'm blown into your world of Purity. Your channel is ace. Those last 30 years are everything and , It's all here ! 👍👍💯💯
I have been watching the build video's for several months but cannot ever remember seeing a signal box especially with the various points on the layout and near the station, overall well done
Not into modelling myself, but I really appreciate the attention to detail and imagination. I work at Oxford station and thank you for paying homage to our old footbridge. Look forward to you next installment.
Merry Christmas mate and thank you for many hours of excellent videos. It's always a pleasure to watch your all of your updates. Cheers from Paul and Karen, Sarasota, Florida.
I was desperately hoping for a new Everard Junction video so I can really kick off Christmas. And on that note, a Merry Christmas to you, Richard. Following your hobby is one thing, but taking the time to skilfully document it for others to learn from and enjoy is a whole other challenge. Thanks for all your efforts this year, and roll on the next one.
If and when I start my own model railway, I'm certainly going to be heavily inspired by Richard's model railway - and the old videos of "how to" he made, like the fake concrete.
WONDERFUL job. Have you tried to paint/mask the two lights by the new fence in black BUT only on the backside of the light, it might stop the lights going on the backdrop or at least reduce the brightness of the light....
I was thinking the opposite as built up area's tended to not have completely black sky's due to light pollution so in theory the light on the backscene might be OK to stay.
I agree it was as always worth the wait for this video. Attention to detail as always mesmerizing. Just realized I didn’t see where you put the litter, might watch it again. As for those style of platform lighting, they never were very bright anyway.
Fabulous job as always. All those details themselves are so fascinating in terms of how things actually did look in Britain during that era. From certain shots earlier you had us fooled that they came from your layout. Absolutely astounding work.
forgot how many years i been watching your videos from day one you posted your first video great job like allways nice to see your still around still doing the hobby !
Absolutely brilliant, always look forward to seeing more, 1 of my most favorite channels on YT, Believe it or not, you actually fill the void in my life with model trains😊, as I can only afford 1 hobby which is model cars and real ones, Have a Merry Christmas and all the best for 2024🎉🎉🎉🎉😊 Thankyou very much for the enjoyable videos in 2023👊 Cheers 🍺🍻KC Cradle Mountain Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺🇳🇿🤝🇬🇧🇬🇧👍✌😎
Another masterclass again Richard hope you have a Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year looking forward to the next installment of Everard Junction cheers Rob
I still can’t get over how amazing your layout is. I’ve shown your videos to a few mates of mine we love houses near the bridge that references Brixton Coldharbour Lane towards Loughborough Junction as we use to travel that route to school. Would love to see a some running session videos in the New Year 🙏🏾
The West Hill Wagon works information board, that you said was given away at a show, was given away by them, in conjunction with Dave at Dean Park, at Model Rail Scotland 2023! I actually got one at the show, but didn't use it on the station. Instead, I sprayed mine blue, then added the information sheets to it, and placed it at the end of the pedestrian precinct, linking the High Street with the retail park, in the area where my Scotmid Co-op is. Basically, I've used mine for bus information, as the bus station, which will be visible in the rebuilt Postings shopping centre, is next to that!
Always a bonus when a video lands. Lots of little bits but they make a big difference. Regarding the light spill onto the background, have you thought of painting the far side of the light black? The downside is that you’d lose the light that you DO want on the platform. Merry Christmas.
Your layout is so impressive with the amount of detail you have added. I really enjoy your videos and absolutely appreciate the effort you put into the production of them. There are a lot of bad videos out there but yours are an example of how videos should be done. Thank you.
Thanks very much. It's not easy editing the videos in this way and adds a lot of time. I think it's important to bring the viewer on the complete journey of a project. It's much easier to build something and then film the completed item, but nobody understands how it was actually made. Cheers
Amazing how several small changes brings the station to life. The platform lights look very authentic, the only thing missing are piles of pigeon poo that used to be under the pedestrian bridge and the platform lights 😂😂 Have a merry Christmas and New Year, good post thank you 👍
Always a good day when we get another video. This close to Christmas too...an early Christmas present. Merry Christmas to you and all those who post on your videos. Love your work.
Station looks great Richard. Thanks for all the great work and effort you put in to making these wonderful, entertaining videos and sharing them with us. Perhaps in 2024 you could do something to let us give donations /help with the expense and reward to your efforts. I'm sure i can't be the only one who would like to help/contribute. Have a great Christmas, looking forward to the next one.
I completely agree. Please consider allowing donations, Richard. I understand that’s not what you do either the layout or your channel for, but we gain a tremendous amount from it. It would be nice if those that want to could help share some of your costs, and let us express our gratitude.
Great work! I still think it would be a really interesting addition to add lighting etc under the scenic break end of the station, to give the impression of the 'indoor' section of the station continuing out of sight towards the fiddle yard. Never seen that done on a layout so far.
I had originally intended to do that but it would show the trains entering the fiddle yard & the tight curves under the scenic break. Would end up spoiling the illusion, need more space really.
@@EverardJunction ah yes, nice to know it isn't just me who's afflicted with the needing more space issue ! But yes that makes total sense and as a fellow perfectionist I did assume it'd be something you'd either considered or were considering. Thanks for the reply and keep up the amazing work!
Love your attention to detail it's so on period and your methods are just brilliant. As a modeller of a different discipline I know how much work goes into getting it right. it's so easy to ah stuff it. Well done this is one of the finest layouts I've seen.
Highly realistic! I like the little touches such as the pigeon on the platform clock. I wouldn't worry too much about the light reflecting off the back scene. You said yourself there's light pollution, so it would be a common effect of city lights from the area behind the wall reflecting off clouds.
I'm not too bothered by it, viewed as a whole you don't really notice.. I just made a point of it so others wouldn't think I hadn't noticed. Glad you enjoyed it, cheers.
Always love your videos. Regarding the light hitting the backdrop…if you were to paint the backs of those two fixtures black and glue a tiny piece of plastic across the back of both globes, it would minimize the “spotlight” effect to be able to pass as ambient light from the city beyond the wall. Just an idea.
Hi Richard, great work on the end of the station. Thanks for all the great videos during the year of 2023. To you and your family Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Mike HO from Australia.
Amazing work as always, thanks for another great video! A very happy Christmas to you and your family. Looking forward to seeing more of your stunning layout in the new year
Always look forward to these updates! The station looks just perfect. I just love how immersive your opening shots are... The scenes with the traffic going by below are just so good. All the very best and a Merry Christmas from Canada!
Merry Christmas. Thank you for the Great skills you have shown us over the Year and may your New Year be another brilliant year both at work and modelling. Maybe paint the back of the third platform lights to cut the light down.
I’m always baffled by how real the textures of the streets and sidewalks look. You have an eye for detail. I can’t wait until more little people move in to call this bleak town their home 😁.
What a superb video as always Richard. Your attention to detail is absolutely awe inspiring . I really look forward to your updates. Really looking forward to 2024 projects. Fantastic work and a real inspiration to all of us modellers. I wish you and all your family a very happy Christmas and here's to 2024. Brilliant!!!!! 😀😀😀🎄🎄🎄🎄
Fantastic effort Rich, love mirroring effect within the over bridge glazing very prototypical. Best Christmas wishes, thanks for taking the time to make such great content.
Could you add some trees behind those lamps to stop them lighting up the sky? Just poking up above the wall behind the lamps and a few other places to help stop the sky lighting up?
Your videos of the building of Everard Junction are always a great to watch your progress. As your finishing building your station it reminded of Felix the Huddersfield Station cat passed away. Would you consider putting a tribute model cat to her on your Station please.
It looks really good, the lamp post at the end of the middle platform is wonky though. Just in case you didn't notice. This really is a fantastic layout.
Platform scene looks great especially the night running. The devil is in the detail and I think you have got it spot on, more is less well done Richard. Many thanks for sharing another interesting and informative video. May I be one of the first to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and all the best for 2024, regards Barry..🎅👍
Looks amazing! You’ve done such a great job, your eye for detail is really inspiring 👍🏼 I had idea for the light spilling onto the back scene would be to try some black-tack on the back of the platform lamps where you can’t see it. It’s exactly the same problems we face in theatre lighting and the solution is things like shutters on the lights etc. if you experiment with the black tack, you can always refine it to a piece of plasticard or something, it wouldn’t have to be tall to just get that light to hit the wall rather than the back scene. Looking forward to your next video 🤙🏼 hope Christmas is good for ya! 🎄
It just keeps getting better! Fascinating viewing. I enjoy the running sessions, too. Would you please consider making a video that shared with us viewers the locos in your fleet?

I've been following the build and it's such an excellent layout. So much detail and takes me right back to days out in my childhood. Great stuff!
At least once a month, after many days of let me see...

You and Dean Park on the same day?! Christmas has come early!
That first shot with the trains passing was brilliant, really captured the atmosphere of a platform on a crisp night.
