    Video Note: The Handle That Breaks in the video is not the Wagner Sidekick handle it's actually the extension pole handle we purchased and which we later returned.

    Used my new Sidekick today. I like it. Replies to concerns raised here and some of my own.
    1) The squeaking comes from the roller retainer clip. Petroleum Jelly on the clip area can stop it.
    2) Paint build up on the end of the roller. It's not as bad as the build up from dipping in a paint tray and getting paint on the ends of the roller.
    3) Button placement is a bit of a procedural challenge with a long pole but once I got a technique and rhythm it was not a big factor.
    My technique was to push the button; let it dispense paint while rolling the wall to spread out the paint (move quickly in a bit of the W technique) until paint with little globs were spread along the wall then back roll however much. I was able to do six feet wide from top to bottom with a nice even coat and believe i could have gone wider.
    4) A concern not raised is the extension pole coming loose that always upset me with standard roller frames and it's no better with the Sidekick. So I had to constantly re-tighten the pole.
    5) Clean Up I thought was easy. In fact i think the roller cover cleaned easier because the holes allowed water to rinse better.
    6) I didn't like the tightly coiled hose and I tried to make it as straight as possible. While cleaning I discovered the hot water softened and allowed me to straighten the hose a bit.
    7) "Inside Out" is a great animated movie and a good idea for ones shirt. With ones shirt inside out the paint will not show when the shirt is turned outside out.

    I just bought this yesterday to help paint my tall, long wall. Between stopping to get more paint I'd get streaks forming cause it dries too fast. I'm hoping this will help speed the process and fix my mistakes! Thanks for the review!

    I bought this and the only thing I hated was how noisy it is when reloading the roll. Other than that, it was a snap to use. All I cared about is that my job was done in half the time and that I wasn't reloading paint from the pan. I'm in New York and painted my 67 ft. long hallway and I'm very happy with the results. Patience and a positive attitude is required when using products like these for the first time.

    I just bought this one today because my 13 yr old Wagner Power Roller broke internally. I hope this new one will be ok. I noticed in your video the roller was squealing at times . Why was that? Also, I saw someone else's video for this same product and they had a problem with paint accumulating at one end of the roller and then dripping. Did you ever have a similar problem?

    • @DamnGoodReviews
      @DamnGoodReviews  9 лет назад +1

      Louis Mitchell dunno why it was squealing but do know that it worked great for multiple rooms. The biggest pain is cleaning the unit out. Besides that love it

      Prince Mowe Yup -- and I bought another one and it did the same thing with a normal roller -- the extension pole was a piece of garbage.

    How long is the hose? How much lint does the roller leave?

    • @DamnGoodReviews
      @DamnGoodReviews  Год назад

      It’s been a while hose is 16ft and not any more lint then from any other roller

      Keep in mind the SNAP was not the Wagner product but the crap extension pole from Lowes it was attached too. I just don't know my own strength anymore.

    funny when you broke the handle , and then you had to continue with your hand close to the roller , I wonder how much paint you got on the floor and in yourself LOL

    • @DamnGoodReviews
      @DamnGoodReviews  9 лет назад +3

      Redbelo That handle was a piece of crap! Not part of the Wagner system..

  • @rinzl3rs349

    So.... how come at 3:57 you don't show the after math of you snapping the extension handle off. Can clearly hear it breaking and then you quick jump

    • @DamnGoodReviews
      @DamnGoodReviews  6 лет назад +1

      Only because the handle was not part of the product -- it was a secondary attachment we purchased form home cheapo.... which was a piece of garbage. Why show that when it's not the product we are working with.

      The handle is not part of the Wagner sidekick it was a extension handle /pole from a hardware store

    Just tossed my Wagner power roller in the garbage after it started leaking internally and the Wagner company responded to my "how do I fix it" inquiry by telling me it was non serviceable. Save yourself expense and headache and roll the old fashioned way.

  • @barryoneill1703
    @barryoneill1703 8 лет назад +4

    The trigger is very badly placed, if you wanted to paint high (with a pole attached,) you'd need to bring the handle down, to press, "self defeating"
    If the trigger was at the bottom of the pole it would be a lot better,
    Also I didn't see you lay off the paint, so I'm not sure you got a nice finish, great idea, but not practical.

    I really hate to clean out that long damn hose with all the paint inside. Imagine having to use a 100 foot hose on a a Beverly Hills mansion.

    Dude! That thing, amongst all of the crap they are selling is actually a fraud cause it gives you a moment of "oh I can do it like a pro" but in reality, it's totall bs! You know why i say this? I'm a painter and I have never used such thing, well once... Traditional roller and a brush is what we pros use... 😊
