"Those two are a powerhouse." Well she is called Hurricane Nita for a reason. And Alissa has a better growl than most other singers, male or female. The riff in this song is so catchy every time I hear it it gets stuck in my head for days....and I'm not complaining. If you want to hear more Arch Enemy, I'll suggest "The Eagle Flies Alone" as it's one of my favorites of theirs. If you want to check out more of Hurricane Nita, I'll suggest "Victorious" which is also off her now album and features Dorothy Martin (of the band....Dorothy) on vocals.

The level of virtuosity has been successfully achieved - beautiful riffs, solos, this song is brutal.

I remember when this track came out, for me it has been a vibe for a whole month. A god tier guitarist like Nita and a god tier vocalist like Alissa together could only make a god tier song, afterall. Nita's solo is so well structured as it just goooooes and most of all Alissa's cleans towards the end of the song hit very hard. This is a banger🔥
I remember as well, when this came out. It surpassed Handshake With Hell as the song of the year for me

This was the best colab I've seen in a long time. Alyssa has an amazing voice and Nita is just amazing with a guitar. Don't forget about the drummer, his name is Josh and he is Nita's partner, he also did an amazing job.

Exactly! Why don’t they have their own band?!?! This is by faaaaaar the best newly released stuff I‘ve heard in a very, very long time. And the past year has been pretty great as far as rock and metal releases go. But THIS is so far above everything else, on every single level. This can’t just be ONE song. These two are a perfect match. They NEED to create more together. Pleeeeeeaaase!

Great reaction - this song is fantastic and Alissa and Nita are amazing artists... if you ever want to dive deeper into Arch Enemy (one of my favourite bands) you should know that clean vocals are extremely rare. Most songs are harsh vocals (only growls) and the guitars make the melodies. (beautifully!) Personally I like that concept and I do like that clean vocals are so rare. Actually only two of their song have partly clean vocals ("Handshake with hell" and "Reason to believe") Both great songs but like I said - most AE songs are growl only (aaaand I like it!) Check out the song The Watcher with live footage at Wacken recorded before the album was released. (studio version but filmed live - great editing)
Their previous singer Angela Gossow is also worth checking out. Angela is now the bands manager and the one to suggest (and recruit) Alissa to replace her in AE.
Fans were surprised (and happy) to see Angela appear in a song with Amaranthe a few years ago (OMG how we missed Angela's powerful growls) I was so surprised because I thought Anglea would never perform again, that she retired to only work behind the scenes. Nice reaction! I liked that you were picking up on how Alissa sounds like she is mixing the growls - I think this is part of what makes her so interesting and compelling as a vocalist in that she has talked in interview about how she makes decisions on how each word should sound and changes the weight, texture, heaviness of the growl according to what she wants that to mean in terms of lyrics (which, unlike a lot of growl/scream vocalists are almost always easy to understand due to quality of diction).
I also think it may well be fair to remark that the "clean" tone here is an affectation just like the growl tone - she's singing a bit higher and brighter than she normally does in clean sounds. Alissa has remarked that her "true" voice is really quite mellow and even bluesy (for what this probably sounds like: "Lizzie" with Charlotte Wessels, the clean vocals B side for her release of "Demons are a Girls Best Friend" or "Goodbye" by Me and That Man in which she guests).
Alissa's voice is probably analogous to an electric guitar - different pedals creating different sounds with effects and distortion added at will on top of raw musicality.
Nita is a complete phenom, she's also playing the bass line for the song which is really nice too. Super talented obviously, and with such a clear vision of where she wants her music to go (I guess being a complete legend makes people excited to collaborate!).
Special note also to Josh Villata playing drums - I don't know anything about drumming but does the guy do a great job of being a fun and meaningful presence in the video because how hard is it to engage in dynamic performance when you have to be sitting there at your instrument using both hands and both feet!
Arch Enemy - Reason To Believe,you get a loud and clear Alissa on both cleans and growls,in a song the band wrote to theyr fans that keeps writing them heartfelt letters about what they are struggling with,and also some of the members own past experiences in life. Its a masterpiece that doesnt get the recognition it deserves often. You asked for it,i answered. 🤗💞
Alissa used to be in a band called The Agonist. You should react to a song by them called "Thank You Pain", where you really get to hear Alissa's powerhouse clean vocals soar to the stratosphere. She's an incredible singer.

She did a little bit of stuff with Demi Lovato, but then went back to Alice Cooper to finish out the tour and now she’s doing her own tour, but I want to see her get a bunch other vocalist and do an album. Would love to see her with floor, but we might wait a while for that because I’m sure she’s due really soon.

I enjoy Alissa's acoustic version of Demons area Girls Best Friend but the YT video for it is audio only. The official version, which is not acoustic, is fantastic with that classic Powerwolf church organ, catchy melody, and amazing storytelling. The costumes Alissa and her tieflng minions wear are so good.

Nita Strauss is still one of Alice Cooper's guitarists... she did a stint w/ Demi Lovato. Nita was discovered by Alice Cooper as a replacement for Orianthi, the female guitarist who was once tapped to tour w/ Michael Jackson... Orianthi left amicably - she got involved w/ former Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora for a while... Nita took her place and brought some variety - her style of playing is different from the other 2 guitarists (Ryan Roxie and Tommy Henriksen) but they work well together... Nita is not the only member working on solo stuff in Alice Cooper's band - bassist Chuck Garric also has a band Beasto Blanco... Alice Cooper has another band Hollywood Vampires w/ Joe Perry (Aerosmith) and actor Johnny Depp as guitarists.
Alissa White-Gluz started in the Canadian metal band The Agonist... they released 3 albums before she was offered the gig in Arch Enemy in 2014 to replace their female vocalist Angela Gossow... Alissa said she was working on a solo album as well, but Arch Enemy is popular and high on demand, so that keeps her busy... Some of her best tracks w/ Arch Enemy - 'War eternal'... Well, you did a "Handshake with Hell" reaction already, so maybe you could listen to "The Eagle Flies Alone" for a slightly older song. I was looking for the Wacken 2022 capture of "The Watcher", but I can't find it anymore. Just the official video remains (with some live images of that show)
I think you should also listen to Angela. "Nemesis" is the best way to do that (there is a live version of it, that you can use to see how their voices are different when Alissa sings it live too)

I like Alissa's Arch Enemy work. But, Angela's performances just threaten to tear faces off. 'Nemesis' live in Japan is just brutal.

You need to listen to Arch Enemy now lol, kick it off with My Apocalypse, that’s a good intro to the band
You'll get plenty of suggestions for Arch Enemy, but I'd suggest checking out Fool's Parade by Charlotte Wessels (or Hands of Gold and Tragedy of The Commons by Delain) for more vocals from Alissa. Also, Charlotte is fantastic in her own right.
Not sure it it has been suggested. "Handshake with Hell". It is a great song with both harsh and clean and beautiful melody.

As great as Alissa's vocals are with Arch Enemy, her work in The Agonist is so much better. She does a lot more cleans with them.
She was great in The Agonist. So sad she got booted from the band she started by the other members. Maybe some karma that the band broke up May of this year.
