Thank you for the video , brought back some memories . I worked as a timekeeper in motorsport for a number of years. Brno was one of my favourite circuits - FIA GT , WTCC , ETCC . We had a drive around parts of the old circuit one year , and I particularly remember the pits. Cheers
as i look on google maps today it is still fully derivable... may not be complete original, but has ride able connections... so easy to get lost on 2d sim...
MrChriswo29 Yes, once but that was right after ww2 and then fucking communists took over so yeah, if there werent communists, today f1 might be in czech instead of hungary =/
Yes it was used by F1 the year before they started calling it F1, that was in 1949. That's how the famous "Farina curve" got it's name, when Giuseppe Farina lost control in that corner and have killed 2 spectators and injured several others. After that the most prestige event held there was the motorcycle Grand Prix which stayed in Brno until today. Btw. After the war the direction was changed to clockwise and circuit was shortened couple of times.
@@daniel4726 Talk crap about commies all you want, but they kept the shorter version alive for decades! It was still somewhat used in the 80s, then the big circuit was made, which btw held WTCC races...
I live near this circuit. Every year I am driving an amateur hillclimb race "Farina Turn" on part of the old circuit.
That's great! :)

An interesting looking circuit. Did formula 1 ever use this circuit?
No, only pre-war Grand Prix and the World Championship for motorcycles.
