bro every fishing channel i've found is always some old suburban guy that i cant relate to. they still give great tips, advice, stories and make great videos but im glad i just stumbled across your channel. FINALLY SOMEBODY I CAN RELATE TO. (nothing against the other youtubers, it jus hits different when i watch a youtuber than i know deals with hate from the world for no reason on a daily basis)
I bought a $22 baitcaster off of the tiktok shop and God damn it was an amazing purchase. No joke one of my best purchases ever I don't even care if it breaks
Larry my go to rod is a Berkley AMP 7.0 Med Heavy. You can not go wrong with it. Sturdy and light feeling. I got two of the ones that have the camo bright green and grey handle ends. I do not care for the color so I painted the handle ends black. I think they are the best and you can not go wrong with them.
You should try the Ozark Trail bait caster combo. I bought it for my daughter for when we go fishing together and I was pleasantly surprised how well it worked and came with a medium heavy rod

Saw that combo at Walmart and I didn’t realize it was a “beginner,” baitcaster. I passed it up cause the quality of the rod and reel just did not feel worth the price. Great content as always and keep up the amazing work.
I bought it and honestly it cast really smooth once you figure it out I personally don’t use the anti backlash system because I feel it causes more backlash lol
Just as others have mentioned, it does need a dab of oil before you use it ruclips.net/user/postUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e - put a few drops in through the convenient screw cap and you are good to go! I have fished several weeks with a couple of these, and I will be getting more in the future. I put these against my Abu Garcia Pro Max reel, and they actually perform a bit better than the Abu with some of my lighter cranks, and definitely just as good with the rest of my lures. My Abu is a bit more low profile and fits my hand better, but these are definitely not bad at all. You can almost get 3 of these for the price of my Pro Max. My only complaint is the thumb bar sits pretty high compared to my traditional profile Abu. Bring that thumb bar down a little and I’m sold on these all day long.

I think the top bottom is so you can get used to holding your line whenever you cast it so it doesn’t back lash ( just my thoughts )
I just got an Ozark Trail baitcast combo for $35....and it's actually not bad. The rod isn't that great, but for the 💰....it ain't awful. It'll get you out fishing.....
Bought it for my son last year.. yes, oh yes, it was hard to cast..😂😂😂
I love this channel. I get so sick and tired of all the fishing snobs on RUclips that have all this expensive shit. I caught my PB of 11 lbs on a Abu Garcia $50 Black Max on a $20 pole.
It's not a bad combo I do not like the reel however I swapped it out for a black Max reel then the casting distance was spectacular
You have to take the line over the gold bar and then back under through the hole and then up the pole you went under the gold bar and back over the plastic piece the on off switch
The line should go over the brass rod and under the steel one and out the guide
I grabbed it for my son sucked with bird nesting but after putting 15 pound braid on it solved the problem give it a try with the braid its weird but definitely worked bro

Great stuff I was looking at that combo when I was getting into baitcasting but decided to pass. But I did find the googan crappie jigs on clearance at the Pell city Walmart. Love my ultralight kit, if I wanna go out and just have fun fishing I grab the ultralight kit and have a blast

Was the first baitcaster I bought and it was a pain. Ended up buying a Shakespeare baitcaster reel to replace it and have moved on to bigger and better. The rod has held up though.
I bought this combo and it was not worth it I back lashed so much it was the first time I had ever gotten mad when fishing just back lash after back lash I went out and got a black max reel and the rod just doesn’t feel good I am soon planning to get the Berkeley cherry wood rod your videos have helped a lot with my beginner experience with the bait caster my only problem now is reeling my rod the line never seems to go on right I don’t know if it’s to much tension or not enough

This one in particular is terrible but there's a different Abu Garcia for 45 bucks and if your tune it right its perfect

Don't use the line traner my son took it off and made it normal. But good for my little cuz still use is from one year ago when I got him one. A beginner will mess it up I've had to put all new line in my baitcaster reel how does it get so far gone we kid's won't say. Mad because you can't use it 🤔 that's not a good review on the IKE baitcaster Vegas help design. My cuz like his combo for the dishes

😂😂😂 I'm dying. OK a little hystory on that reel. It was a zebco or Shakespeare that pure fishing rebranded as a abu garcia since they own both companies and then slapped ikes name on it. It's the worse reviewed reel on the market lol. It's literally the worst I've ever reviewed and I've reviewed cheap Chinese 14$ reels 😂😂. Next time bro look a reel up on RUclips and in reviews lol.

@@LarryMeltonJr no bro its 100% the same design and was horrible. I have no idea why pure fishing kept it on the market. It's a great idea but needs to actually work lol. I think with better bearings, a little design work and maybe some actual breaks it could be a ok beginners reel. Think they need to take that one back to the drawing board lol.
