Wish there was a update of some sort, many people including myself are concerned and truly happy if this is your Marriage time. Y'all deserve lots of happiness!! ❤️
❤Congratulations to Matt and Best Wishes for Kristen for your betrothal! Thousands of your fans hope that you had a videographer "catch" your wedding...and that you will consider sharing it with us!
Good month! One thing I have learned is to keep spare batteries for your gate clicker in every vehicle as well as in the house. I wish you were sailing back to the mainland for the wedding. ""May you live as long as you wish and love as long as you live. "
Matt and Kristin, I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!❤️. My Sunday’s wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t spend 30 minutes watching your channel. Matt, you come across as a rank amateur do it your selfer but you ROCK!!! Kristin, you are the epitome of “behind every good man is a good woman”. You also ROCK❤️!!! The privacy wall, fence, and gate opener are 100% professionally done. Pat yourself on the back. I’m an 80 year old rank amateur that couldn’t hold a candle to your accomplishments, whatever that means🤣.
You two are hilarious. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. I’m guessing it’s possibly now. Hope all goes well and are looking forward to seeing how you both scrub up in your clobber. Love from Australia 🇦🇺
At 2:39 in the video, I see a baby Breadfruit tree on the edge of your property. You should try to clear some space around it, and you'll always have Breadfruit available.
Three years ago I recommended you marry Kristen, glad you see her value, Congratulations. You two are a great team and I'm so impressed with your spirit to accomplish. You've done so much and your entry to the land is so beautiful.
Hey guys, I've used solar powered gate openers on my farm for @15 years. The gates are programmed to be slightly staggered so they can properly overlap. I didn't see it, but you must have a solar charge controller in the system to regulate constant power to the batteries or they will get fried over time. I have found over the years that the provided solar panels just aren't adequate for tropical climates. 10 watts is not enough for 2 marine batteries and days of cloudy weather. Just this year I finally broke down and bought a 100 watt big daddy so the batteries are at constant power for several days of clouds. A good Uncle Matty trick is to wire in a constant LED light on the inside so you can see at all times if the system is working correctly--No light=no power. Your PC board has a flashing terminal on it and you can wire another LED on the outside to start flashing when you hit the remote from the outside.
Did you fill the cinder block cells with concrete where you bolted the hydraulic ram to the wall?? If not you still can by taping a hole above and below. Stuff the cell below with wadded up paper to hold the new concrete poured in the top hole. If there is no existing concrete filled in those cells, your ram screws into the wall will not last long at all. They will eventually wobble loose as you are using the gates. Also, stick wheels on the bottoms of both gates to keep them from sagging. Otherwise they will continue to sag, and you will be always sanding to make them meet and close all the way. Kristen, your man MATT is one freakin talented man! Treat him right girl!!!
Hello Kristen and Matt. Im so worried something happened to you guys. I hope its that your on vacation, getting married. Miss you both and the animals. 🐔🐔🐔
congrats 🎉on the wedding. nice wedding pics. people need to settled down on the negative comments. you enjoy your time relax and come back strong.!!! do miss yall though!!❤
We knew they were going to get married, but they never said they weren't going to post for three weeks. I can't imagine that they don't see people's concern.
Water is the enemy of those openers id pull them apart and silicone the plastic cover shut or maybe drill a small drain hole in the bottom. Or your gonna get like 3y out of them.
You need to seal that wood with stain or clear sealer or it won't last long in the moisture and sun. Raw wood is like a sponge to water and mildew/mold and the sun will cook it like a match. From an old fence builder.
Good job with the operator installation. To adjust how far the gates open refer to page 27 of the manual adjusting limits and adjust the “A” limit next to the pivot point of the wall bracket. To change the gate to open and close at the same time change the #3 and #4 dip switches to off. This is on so if you have a mag lock or strike installed. If you have any problems with the batteries in the future make sure you swap to Marine Deep Cycle batteries. They stay charged better on solar applications. Gate operators is what I do for a living. Enjoy!
I haven't had much luck with Tapcons. I think the through bolts are the way to go, and a little stucco would make it invisible. Always fun with you. Happy wedding and enjoying your family.
For wooden gate sage use cable and a cable tensioner for the cross brace. That way you can adjust it. Using a wood cross brace causes the gate to warp when the wood dries.
Well my golly Kristen and matt, It looks so good. What you're doing. But I was going to tell you That if you would have just said open and close sesame, It might have worked.😂 I'm so proud of you both and Whoopi, You're getting married.❤ It all looks so nice. And maybe some of us can Come over and check it out.😂 Thanks as always and look forward to next Sunday.❤❤❤
Have you thought about capping the gate that opens first and closes last , so that you can have a gap between the gates . Otherwise a great job guys. Good luck with the wedding. You two were made for each other. God Bless.
That whole fence and stucco wall and automatic gate puts you folks into the millionaire leagues. Looks fantastic! Congratulations on your wedding and keep on keepin' on !
congradulations on your wedding, hope you both have a very happy, healthy, and prosperous life together, God bless. Oh, great job on the wall and gate, nice job.
If you ever want an inexspensive capping method for your double wooden fence, look into square shaped gutter lengths that come in all widths and colours. Here in South Africa its made of galvanised metal but oversees I see it comes in compound material thats like plastic. Just something to think about seeing as you have so much rain on the open top end of the wood grain boards.
Wow from the Florida days til now I’ve been a follower I’ve got to say I have missed the DD and those sea days but your farm is as beautiful as you two are , what a great pair you make and by the time we see this vid I bet your hitched as Matt would say, Congratulations! Stay safe stay cool stay loving.
Always a very smart idea that whenever you pour any concrete to install a good size pipe across the concrete, Even if you presently have real need for such a pipe at the time. Amazing how many times it comes in perfect down the road. Thumbs Up!
As usual, I really enjoyed today's "episode". Please start applying wood sealant to your beautiful fence. Without the sealant, your fence will rot really quickly. I had a house in St. Thomas for years and wood rots very quickly.
Looks great. Just a heads up I used to install gate operators for a living. Lots of lemons in the gate operators world. Anticipate possible adjusting and re calibration often.
Beautiful fence and gate!! Fantastic craftsmanship Matt, you always go the extra mile to make it perfect. So are you guys going to adding to the crew with a Matt junior? Wouldn't it be great to have a little helper Matt? 😊 Best of luck and happiness to this beautiful couple, have a blessed wedding 💍 💒 ❤😊
Your entry really is impressive ; we've had an electric gate for many years and it makes for a much more secure property . One thing matt if the gates develope any sagging i've seen people mount small wheels for added stability . Also build a small enclosure for your batteries ... you know all this stuff your a good builder ! BTW : Congradulations on the wedding plans go team go !
I'm so happy for you both. I've watched every episode and have seen you both grow and succeed in everything you set your minds to. You both are perfect for each other
You guys do such a wonderful job on everything you tackle and the result is always beautiful. The front of your property looks amazing and I know it’s going to always be something that you couldn’t remember doing in the future. God bless your marriage and your trip.
You need a layer of wood, or something, between the batteries and the cement. The cement will do funky things to the lead-acid batteries. Asside from that, wow, looking awesome :)
Brilliant job, Matt! Excellent execution. Glad your girl chick can read and understand those crazy schematics with you. Doubling your brain power is a terrific plan. Congrats y'all. Fair wins
I have four electric gates (2 pairs) and they both open and close just like yours. One gate is a little in advance of the other. They work fine and have always been the same since the day of installation 20 years ago, so I wouldn't worry.
For a secret outside button. drive 2 nails or screws through the wood or wall and attach the gate wires to them. then just touch the screw heads with your car keys. Incase your remote battery go dead, you can still open the gate!
Looking good gate wise. Happy for the upcoming nuptials. You are such a great couple. Following your adventures these past years has been lots of fun for me.
God Bless you both, Bendiciones. You are a great couple, brave and smart , and my family wants to thank you for inspiring us to live and to love without fear . Do not stop living and loving without fear, God is Blessing you both.
I assume you have a backup way to get in when you return home in the pouring rain at night, and the solar panels haven't been able to charge the battery because there has been no sun for a week. Did I mention it was pouring rain at night? :)
If I didn't know already, I'd say Matt is excited. And Kristen had a good week... all in one day! 🤣 Looking Good! I can't wait for the monorail system from the front gate to the waterfall! 😁
Those Tapcons will hold for sure.. and honestly I would NOT have thru bolted either, you always can down the road IF you have to but you made right choice.
Gate Expert! I fabricate Gates and do electronic work, and have for years, not a big fan of those cheaper ones, but if installed right they do work. couple tips: you do need to bolt through the wood with big washers, the constant push pull will eventually work out the wood screws you used, Get 3/8" or metric equivalent all thread and epoxy set for the arm mount on the concrete, use all 4 holes to ensure the same issue. those points will cause failure and remember you built 2 big sails that will catch a lot of wind. the delay is for a overlap, should be able to adjust that out, its listed under leaf 2 delay.
I love how you made the gate beautiful on both sides! Normally the back doesn’t look that great but the way you installed it the whole gate, fence and planting area is going to be amazing! So look forward each week to see what new project you have going! Blessings from Hawaii for your wedding and a long and beautiful life together!
Wish there was a update of some sort, many people including myself are concerned and truly happy if this is your Marriage time. Y'all deserve lots of happiness!! ❤️
I'm totally using "Today's been a great week!" The fence looks awesome. Thanks for the laughs and have a lovely wedding!
❤Congratulations to Matt and Best Wishes for Kristen for your betrothal!
Thousands of your fans hope that you had a videographer "catch" your wedding...and that you will consider sharing it with us!
Thanks
Have you thought about gate wheels on the bottom ends of each gate? They will fend off gravity and gate sag which happens to all gates.
Today WAS a great week, whenever I get to watch GBU is a great week. Matt, I’m glad you get to go to Kristen’s wedding.
Do you want an invite suck hole
hahahahahha

Escaped from the a team I love it when I plan comes together keep on doing what you're doing and you will have a beautiful home very soon.
The extra line in the conduit could be used for wiring for 2 Coach Lights on the outside !

Hello Kristen and Matt. Im so worried something happened to you guys. I hope its that your on vacation, getting married. Miss you both and the animals. 🐔🐔🐔
Concerned. Where are they? My favorite channel has gone dark....
@@stevenpurcell4292 It is said: "They did just get married 2 weeks ago and honeymooning"
@@GoPoundSalt Thank you for the confirmation. Ive watched them for what seems like years. thx again
What has happened to you guys,4 weeks and no update.
@@rodtait8441 They went off and got married and probably taking a well-deserved break from editing video and enjoying each other.
congrats 🎉on the wedding. nice wedding pics. people need to settled down on the negative comments. you enjoy your time relax and come back strong.!!! do miss yall though!!❤
We knew they were going to get married, but they never said they weren't going to post for three weeks. I can't imagine that they don't see people's concern.
Pictures? can you say where we can see them.
Mat
Put a small strip of wood or copper on top of your wood fence & post , keep rain out of open end of wood, will last a lot longer and look good
Water is the enemy of those openers id pull them apart and silicone the plastic cover shut or maybe drill a small drain hole in the bottom. Or your gonna get like 3y out of them.
@Mat, consider adding at least one more hinge to each gate. it will distribute the weight more evenly.
"Today has been a great week." (see ya next week) love it, totally a sentiment at the end of every Monday.....lol
You need to seal that wood with stain or clear sealer or it won't last long in the moisture and sun. Raw wood is like a sponge to water and mildew/mold and the sun will cook it like a match. From an old fence builder.
"Today's been a great week" would be an awesome T-shirt! Nice to see how well things are coming along. Have a wonderful wedding!
Outstanding electric gate is functional and beautiful.😊
Good job with the operator installation. To adjust how far the gates open refer to page 27 of the manual adjusting limits and adjust the “A” limit next to the pivot point of the wall bracket. Lovely breadfruit tree at the end of your fence, take care of it, great food!
For wooden gate sage use cable and a cable tensioner for the cross brace. That way you can adjust it. Using a wood cross brace causes the gate to warp when the wood dries.
what about some kind of lamps on top of the fence? like old style copper carriage lamps
You could put a sag line on the gate doors ..Use all thread and a cleat diagonal top left to bottom right.. good luck… always enjoying your videos
Matt's got so many skills and if he doesn't he learns... Also his attitude and vibe is top notch 👌
Your love for each other is so fun and adorable!
I did the ultimate "Uncle Matty" A solar gate opener for my beer cooler. I wholeheartly recommend.😃
Today has indeed been a great week.
If those gates continue to sag Matt may need to install a diagonal cable tensioner. Kinda like rigging.
Have you thought about capping the gate that opens first and closes last , so that you can have a gap between the gates . Otherwise a great job guys. Good luck with the wedding. You two were made for each other. God Bless.
What a pair you guys are. Love you both. GREAT job on the gates and fence...!!! Gonna be Matty and Krista's Villa on the Hill!!
Maybe someone should formally name Kristin's & Matty's place?
Villa on the Hilla
Should be able to make adjustments on the arms to correct opening issues. Gate/fence looks great guys. Looking good GBU!
The gate looks good sooner than later you will notice how much wood expands and contracts with time and the elements
If you cap the wall it might last longer and possible fit a small filler plank to overlap the gate to close the gap between doors
Sweet Trick sucking the line through Matt. I use a wire pull retractable tool, but THAT is the way to adapt and overcome without buying another tool.
Howdy Matt & Kristen from San Diego. Yes - Merch … new T-Shirt : Today’s been a good week !!!! Oh yeah - numero uno today 🎉

The fence looks awesome you can't even tell their is an angle from one side to the other.
Looking good Matt! Thanks for noticing Kristin!
The entrance is going to look like the GBU Estate 🫡
Nice job. Now all the little critters will be safe. 😊 You guys are awesome! 💖

come little baby lets jump the broom stick come and lets tie the knot!! have a great day guys
Pro tip: Put a thin 2” strip on the “early” door of your gate. It will allow the two doors to align and hide any cracks.
With all of those scrap wood bits, a fire pit would be a good addition to the Base Camp....It's called Algebra(Yuck)....
You have a keen eye on placing the knots in the wood. Looks great.
In another world and time, I would also do the plank fence. In my world, it would be stolen. So double row brick wall for me!!!!
You guys do such a wonderful job on everything you tackle and the result is always beautiful. The front of your property looks amazing and I know it’s going to always be something that you couldn’t remember doing in the future. God bless your marriage and your trip.

Hope they are OK. You would think they would post a message or even a video short about being out for 2 weeks so far.
They said at the end of the video they are getting married and taking time off from the projects. Let them enjoy their honeymoon.
Today's been a good week y'all!! 😂 You two are funny. I'm happy you now have a remote for your beautiful gate. Good job!
I just want to say that I'm excited for your upcoming wedding. And wanted to wish you safe travels and Congratulations on your wedding to be. 🎉
“White or wheat”! Another statement from your huge book of sayings. Happy travels and for goodness sake enjoy your wedding!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻great job you guys! Cannot wait to see wedding highlights however you share. You are so freakin fun!
Btw… we have electric gates and the need maintenance from time to time and keeps the rif raf out!
May good fortune smile upon you for you wedding!
I assume you have a backup way to get in when you return home in the pouring rain at night, and the solar panels haven't been able to charge the battery because there has been no sun for a week. Did I mention it was pouring rain at night? :)
With those two batteries the gate will run through 200 cycles without recharging
mainly have fun and enjoy each other, good job on the fence and gate
Almost every double gate I have ever seen, the two halves moved at different times, rates. The big thing it fully opens and closes.
If I didn't know already, I'd say Matt is excited. And Kristen had a good week... all in one day! 🤣 Looking Good! I can't wait for the monorail system from the front gate to the waterfall! 😁
i am goiing tp bet thay got hinched. and kepted it to there selfes. " life is beutiful"🎉 congragulation🥰
Matt and Kristen, looks like your still laughing and having fun. Thanks for Sharing!
lol, I’ll buy that T-shirt!! Hope to see some of the wedding!! Have a blast! Congratulations and enjoy your beautiful day❤️❤️
Awesome video guys!!! Everything looks so good. See y'all next time!
Good job, guys; keep up with the next event. --Your wedding! See ya soon!
Hey! Guy's keep doing your good job over in P. R.. take good care doing all that work...blessing's and a lot greetings 👍🤩🙂
I would mount diagonal cables on inside of gates with turn buckles to prevent sagging ( just a thought)
Great idea, stainless steel so it doesn't rust.
I predict they are going to eventually need heavier duty hinges.
Those Tapcons will hold for sure.. and honestly I would NOT have thru bolted either, you always can down the road IF you have to but you made right choice.
I’m really appreciating your ingenuity and hard work. I hope you are enjoying the fruits of your efforts.
Gate Expert! All the workperson ship is spot on , looks like you can turn your hand to anything 👍🏿.
I love how you made the gate beautiful on both sides! Normally the back doesn’t look that great but the way you installed it the whole gate, fence and planting area is going to be amazing! So look forward each week to see what new project you have going!
Blessings from Hawaii for your wedding and a long and beautiful life together!
Congratulations on your wedding. Looking forward to seeing some footage or still pics. Enjoy every moment!!!
