52:30 - Personally I like that Pearl's jump is an option. Allowing passage over that wall usually doesn't break the structure of the level too much, and I like the idea of rewarding players who have the dungeon knowledge and skill to take advantage of alternate routes like this. It's also a one-way passageway (unless a player has jump boost), so there's potential to get stuck on the other side if there's a ravager there. (And compared to the river room's "easy mode" passageway, this is nothing...)

I hope you enjoy your incoming vacation! You fully deserve time off. I feel like fire/lava traps that involve sprint jumping (or just not perma-sneaking) would help out a lot with level 3. They would add difficulty/reason to not sneak, make the level slightly brighter while blinded, and be traversable by wardens. I love the changes and balances youve done so far! They all feel very necessary for the longevity of the game and not at all overdone.
I think putting random rows of pressure plates in level 3 down with the wardens would help balance the power of perma-sneak. If the click of the pressure plate doesn't alert the wardens, maybe put them on face down pistons or note blocks? Then players would need to either unsneak and jump over them or just risk walking on them to proceed.
The way to get around perma sneak would be to force the player to do things that generate sound such as having to jump gaps, open chests, doors or flip levers etc. Also interacting with blocks with inventory will force the player to unsneak. I am sure there is a way to do this. For example you could add a ton of chests to the level and do the treasure, frost embers AND artifacts Decked Out 1 style, where you have to open a chest to get them (though this would be a LOT of work, having to add dispensers for all chests and hoppers as well to clear them out when the round ends etc.)
Just a few pressure plates that can't be jumped would also work, even if they aren't hooked up to anything. But so far level 3 seems plenty hard. Most runs that went there ended in failure. I think tango is a bit fast to want to make it harder.
Chests (or better, barrels) could be cleared out automatically and even recycle their loot when the dungeon resets. So it would mean more work in the short term, but maybe less in the long term.
I mean, if you don’t want all the runs to fail let’s just keep adding stuff. It’s hard enough as is. The point of a game is to learn how to master it. Not continuing to try and figure out what changes where made bc you discovered a way to help yourself. Chat going to ruin this game by talking tango into these changes and only a couple hermits will be able to win only sometimes the rest will just always fail. That’s fun.
@@shanemason8674 Its less about what you're saying and more about making the game fun. If the meta is to just sneak past everything with very little danger, the game is less exciting and fun for the player and the viewers.
I think lvl. 3 is hard enough. I mean later on people on max clank might have to return trough the level from Bitterfrost. That might be real tough with the wardens on full aggro.
Just a thought that just hit me, a potential fix to your problem of Wardens on LvL 3 jumping to their death when aggroing slimes. Would it be possible to turn on all those clank things you got that broadcast sound, produce sound in a specific (and safe) area, and have dispensers above that dispens splash healing potions? And have that go off like every 10th run (I mean have it go off in between runs). It was just a thought, might help :D Deckedout is the best as always!!
That’s what I’ve been thinking! Have multiple stations around the dungeon so that the wardens always have a fast way to get there (and also don’t clump into the same spot every time)
What a great group of people. I wish I was as good at Minecraft to be able to join all of you. This game looks so fun and everyone else's games like TCG, River Raceway, Blood on the Clocktower, and I feel like I am missing another but, have followed this and the last season and it is better than anything on television or streaming.
You don't have to be good at minecraft to join hermitcraft. You need to upload on a regular basis (thats why skizz can't join [yet]). And all active hermits need to like you enough to accept you in the group. And you most likely have to do youtube for a while already, so that the hermits have little risk of you starting drama, as there is no kicking out somebody. Though in the end hermitcraft is great because everybody is having fun. And the viwers have an easier time sticking around even when you quit for a year because there are plenty other people to watch - you already know.
Tango, Ive been following Hermitcraft since i came across BDubs and the NHO in S5.....watching the Hermits run these dungeons has been some of the most enjoyable content Ive seen from the server ever.... youve done an amazing thing here.
this is awsome tango your such a wizard. really enjoyed watching your work since i started watching hermitcraft in season 6. you blow my mind, this is a masterpeice gg
There have been plenty of deaths on level 3. Most runs that went there ended in failure. I'd say wait and see for a bit until you decide to make it harder.
Tango I am watching almost all the runs! I am addicted :)) I am watching this and remember when I coded my first game for my university license! Haven't coded a game since then (2016) Watching this makes me wanna try to code games again!
They would have to be off for a long time to let the ravagers move even just one block away, and even then there’s a good chance they won’t move in a productive direction. Meanwhile the hermits will just wait until the next off pulse and take the easier path out.
have you considered building a marked pathway too all the droppers and artifact locations to make it easier for you to refill and not miss things? Anything that cuts down on the time you gotta spend on maintenance is probably worth it in the long run. I also find it hilarious decked out is a lowkey automated berry farm.
Bdubs spitting out "I love how balanced this game is" right after Cleo admits she's never submitted any but gets points anyways xD had me actually lol!
Really think keys should always drop. Maybe in the hardest place on the level or in a random location every time but not getting any keys is a real shame and waste of a shard.
Maybe just an 100% guaranteed key drop after a certain amount of time has passed or an amount of clank accrued. That or a card that provides a key to floor 2 at the start of the run.
@@hens0w I'm pretty sure there are runs where there are no keys dropped. Tango said later in the stream (after I left my comment) that he was going to add logic so a key is dropped after a certain amount of time. I left my comment as I thought my suggestions were still different enough to be of interest to someone.
Bro I am so invested in this Decked Out 2 shenanigans, I had a dream about playing it and getting like 60 embers in one run only to die at the end! I was going to purchase a few good cards for my deck, too!
An ethereal card that drops a key at the kneeling man when you start. If you unlock floor 2 within 5 min it drops a key on the ship to unlock lvl 3. "Keyed Up"
Best idea I could come up for a way to prevent permasneak on level 3 would be to make the hazards create parkour areas that require sprint jumping. That way you don't block a way entirely but you make it entirely more hazardous to use with the wardens down there. What other ideas are out there?
I definitely think there should be a guaranteed key, maybe just put it behind some hard/dangerous parkour so people only go for it as a last resort or if they want to play risky.
11:45 Oh god that Grian's laugh tho also tango my dude, instead of rocketing here to there to get the sound, why not just make a simple cart rail for Dungeon Master that's moved to position where you can hear sounds at the same time the player start theirs and back when either an artifact was sent or the dungeon is reset due to player being dead as the usual system?

I love that every single hermit who was there was clearly watching the stream the whole time. It must be so wierd for people like Gem, who got into MCYT in *9th grade* watching etho...
@tango quick fix for the fence the ravager jumped over. Parapets. Spikes every other fence post. So the hermits can still do that move but a ravager cant. And then hermits could use that as a technique but it could be a skill challenge. Like they have to jump further out past the first fence block or something.
id love to see a breakdown of the "making of decked out" dont think its possible but like how many redstone dust was used how many ice blocks and black concrete and that kind of stuff but also how many hours hermits collectively spent in the dungeon and all those stats too
Tango, regarding some Warden musing from your stream: - the Warden explicitly can NOT detect flapping from bats (or bee/chicken/dragon/parrot/phantom/vex). It's one of the only "game events" from players/mobs that it can't detect. (ONLY sculk sensors can detect flapping in any way). - silencing mobs has no effect on Wardens, they care about "vibrations" which are emitted separately. The only things wrapped by "isSilent()" are sounds themselves.
There honestly needs to be a button that switches off the water temporarily where the last lvl 1 ravager was on Etho's first run. You have to be able to get past that ravager somehow.
I actually think tango should just leave that jump by the bushes, its not a jump you can do while being chased, and it avoids the problem of the dungeon being unbeatable due to hazard
@@winnipeginstinct if it's impossible to escape atm it is what it is, it encourages getting more clank & hazard block cards! There are more slots for those cards for almost everyone.
No. The point of the water traps is "you reached max clank. You messed up". The 'fix' is to spend less time in the dungeon & to build up more hazard and/or clank block in the deck. As tango said, max clank should kill most people while giving the tiniest chance of victory. Turning off the water traps with a button defeats the whole point of clank....and hazard
The ravager won't always be there. It's no different than having a hazard door close on you as you're running from a ravager. Sometimes bad luck happens, it's a part of the game.
Suggestion Tango: Make a decision on the max number of shards, then when you are adding every week you add until they hit max and stop that way no one ever gets too many in one phase and you don't have to make a decision every single time you see someone has a lot of shards subjectively.

Less than a minute of being uploaded! I live for these replays
Cleo did such a good job of not swearing under pressure I’m so proud of her. 😂
Ikr, Cleo is so good at keeping their cool
I just love how you're just sitting there with that smile on your face when the Hermits are really enjoying your game!
You're a legend Tango! Thank you for making something so amazing.
Thank you Tango! I had to run after Ethos first run, and you deserve your vacation! Have a great time!
Joe is so great. That whole poem before his run was amazing.
bdubs with the "this is our champion?" gave me a good chuckle
I rarely watch HC videos... But holy moly, Decked Out has me hooked. Watching (or at least trying) all the perspectives and runs.
Having just finished the previous video, another one drops. You sir are my main way of spending all of my free time.
19:54 bdubs going "what the heck... whAT THE HECK??" after Tango announced Mumbo's placement 😭😭
Gods I love how infectious Cleo’s energy and especially her laughter are.
I love how Decked Out 2 is giving us so many cool hermit banter.
I'm still so incredably impressed by the amount function squeezed into the design of level 3 while still looking incredable.
I just expected a piston door to pop out of the floor and Mumbo start punching a donkey😂
I love Tangos face as Cleo gave Joe 2 shards for a single common card... xD that look of utter confusion over the trade was priceless
Joe made me spit water all over. His precipitation in the dungeon comment! 🤣🤣
I like the tradition of the phase winner kicking off the next phase honestly.
I honestly think the water traps should be nerfed to be on then off then on etc to give people a chance of the ravengers moving
Joe parodying the theme from Have Gun, Will Travel was entirely unexpected. Completely took me out.
I just need a compilation of clips of tango rocketing around the wiring, bashing his head into a wall and yelling incoherent sounds like "ahhgahggy"
11:55 OG etho fans would remember "She's a saint...saint bernard." Think Etho forgot that line by pause though
Oh god, pause...
In etho's phase 3 compilation video etho cut to him holding a bed named saint Bernard right after bdubs says "She's a saint, I'll have you know".😂
Bdubs spitting out "I love how balanced this game is" right after Cleo admits she's never submitted any but gets points anyways xD had me actually lol!
The lines between Twitch and RUclips are being completely blurred because of Tango... I completely forget when I'm on twitch that its live
Really think keys should always drop. Maybe in the hardest place on the level or in a random location every time but not getting any keys is a real shame and waste of a shard.
I think they just don't look at the whole dungeon (I get why but you know up your ravager relocation game)
14:47 - "Joe gets 11"
"Woo! Palindromic!"
Never odd or even!
Bro I am so invested in this Decked Out 2 shenanigans, I had a dream about playing it and getting like 60 embers in one run only to die at the end! I was going to purchase a few good cards for my deck, too!
Only at Etho's run (still in the Mines), but your evil squee's as he fumbles around are priceless!!!
52:06 Gem is Great, and
Pearl is genius.
The two magic quotes of decked out
They'll fix all your problems :D
Genuinely such fun streams to tune in to - my partner and i are loving watching vods over dinner and all the shenannigans around DO2
An ethereal card that drops a key at the kneeling man when you start. If you unlock floor 2 within 5 min it drops a key on the ship to unlock lvl 3. "Keyed Up"
HOW in the heck is decked out going by so fast?!?! I feel like I’m crazy! It feels like every other day a new phase is beginning HELP 😭😂
Time flies when you're having fun
Best idea I could come up for a way to prevent permasneak on level 3 would be to make the hazards create parkour areas that require sprint jumping. That way you don't block a way entirely but you make it entirely more hazardous to use with the wardens down there. What other ideas are out there?
Oh thank goodness, I just ran out of tango2 fresh decked out vods to watch...!!! I better savor this one! I'm obsessed 😂
I’ve been waiting for this vod, the phase videos are great
Has anyone pushed the button in the starting room where the compass drops? I keep seeing it and want to know what it does!
I definitely think there should be a guaranteed key, maybe just put it behind some hard/dangerous parkour so people only go for it as a last resort or if they want to play risky.
11:45 Oh god that Grian's laugh tho
also tango my dude, instead of rocketing here to there to get the sound, why not just make a simple cart rail for Dungeon Master that's moved to position where you can hear sounds at the same time the player start theirs and back when either an artifact was sent or the dungeon is reset due to player being dead as the usual system?
Cleo and Grian absolutely lost it
HCS9 has been AWESOME for games. TCG, Decked Out, Total Chaos, The charity stream...Ren an Ethos upcoming speedway...it's been great. I started following mumbo in season 8 and since... I've gone back as far as season 7 I followed grian, iskall, you, impulse, pearl(my fav now sorry 🤣) Ren, karalis.... You guys have me completely hooked. Even JITS phasmo. I don't think you realise how many people you can make smile just by doing what you do. This isy thanks to all of the content creators out there and my personal thanks to you.
If you have room for one extra hermit, might I recommend trying out Zedaph? His content is wacky, hilarious, and super unique, and he has such a fun way with words and ideas. Every video is a treat! Pearl, Zed and Etho are definitely my favourite hermits to watch.
"New rule! Every time I hear you drink honey, you lose one shard."
I love that every single hermit who was there was clearly watching the stream the whole time. It must be so wierd for people like Gem, who got into MCYT in *9th grade* watching etho...
...he really did just make an incredibly complex berry farm
The hermits have even found a way to Min/Max Phase points by all tieing and getting more overall points as a result. xD
@tango quick fix for the fence the ravager jumped over. Parapets. Spikes every other fence post. So the hermits can still do that move but a ravager cant. And then hermits could use that as a technique but it could be a skill challenge. Like they have to jump further out past the first fence block or something.
That's more work than simply placing 1 or 2 top slabs on the ceiling above the fence to prevent the ravagers from fitting.
1:34:25 and the ensuing chat conversation had me DYING. plus the failed jump moments earlier? 🧀👀
Oh god that etho run. I physically screamed lol. Holy shit that dude is a legend at this
It's been 24hours and I'm still laughing about Etho's speech!
amazing how all the hermits have tangos stream up, to see the others run
id love to see a breakdown of the "making of decked out" dont think its possible but like how many redstone dust was used how many ice blocks and black concrete and that kind of stuff but also how many hours hermits collectively spent in the dungeon and all those stats too
I love how everyone is at their own difficulty level and it doesn't matter what it is they are entertaining.
I love how tango had the exact same reaction to xBs cubby as last week
Tango, regarding some Warden musing from your stream:
- the Warden explicitly can NOT detect flapping from bats (or bee/chicken/dragon/parrot/phantom/vex).
Wardens detect 'something' from bats. Otherwise how do you explain them chasing them, and blasting them with their laser beams?
There honestly needs to be a button that switches off the water temporarily where the last lvl 1 ravager was on Etho's first run. You have to be able to get past that ravager somehow.
I actually think tango should just leave that jump by the bushes, its not a jump you can do while being chased, and it avoids the problem of the dungeon being unbeatable due to hazard
@@winnipeginstinct if it's impossible to escape atm it is what it is, it encourages getting more clank & hazard block cards! There are more slots for those cards for almost everyone.
You can avoid that by leaving ravegers in the correct place before leaving that zone
Maybe put a cake for sale in the ember shop so hermits can restock the deathrun room if they feel confident
Call it the party hostess with the mostest
Suggestion Tango: Make a decision on the max number of shards, then when you are adding every week you add until they hit max and stop that way no one ever gets too many in one phase and you don't have to make a decision every single time you see someone has a lot of shards subjectively.
It seems he already has. If you have over 20 shards, you don't get more.
