A recent update has changed the way you gain combat experience (for every 1000 damage you gain 50 combat XP) at normal non boss creatures. This has caused this guide to at least be partially out of date. It will still work and many monsters can still be good experience but the "best" methods may be slightly different now. Use this video as a guideline for ideas until an updated guide has been added.

As someone who used to play runescape back in the day and starting to play again after about 5+ years, your guides have been awesome to watch. I feel so overwhelmed by everything going on when I log in. I see all this extra stuff for xp boosts and what not and my brain is just melting. But I know if I just stick to the guide and full commit to getting some of the useful items and what not, it will be a good time!
As far as the moss giants go, there is a pretty good spawn of I think 4-5 of them that I never see anyone at to the north west of Ardougne, south of the Fishing Guild.

Something to consider adding or making a guide on in the future would be ED3 rushes, you can solo (kinda) at mid levels but if you get a group of 2 it is really good exp and GP per hour.
Yeah runescape is like that, if you want more efficient skilling, you gotta work for it by leveling other skills, completing quests and acquiring unique items
Fun fact about the fight cauldron. There is an achievement that requires you to kill a specific mob(cant remember its name) with a full obsidian armour set. If you kill it without this armour set you basically get locked out of ever getting a completionist cape since you cant get all the achievements, and you will get a lovely red message in your chat box telling you this.
abyss gives ashes. if you half active with second screen. you can just pick up the notepapered essence from drob. take out as much normal essence as much you can while looting the 4 type of charm only the black one you cannot cause they not stacking. and after that you got a full inventory while holding necromancer book. you can instantly send ashes to bank and collect with space bar while afking. i did this and from 60-80 i got 25k ashes. nearly 30m gold. and a lot of charm to level up my summoner skill cause im low level with it. just started the game :) a month ago
I did combat recently, here is the summary: Bandits with Guthan set is 100k/hr Abyss with Guthan is 350-400k/hr Abyss with Noxious Scythe and Masterwork is 750k/hr.
I wish they would hurry open and finish rs3 mobile!!!!!! I’m currently playing osrs mobile to cope, and while I’m having a blast, i just find the graphics and the updates in rs3 much more appealing!!!!! What sucks is that they’re apparently having a hard time on making rs3 mobile for iOS :( -Great video btw!!!!
I just came back to RuneScape 3 after leaving in 2012. I've been playing a lot of OSRS, but going back to the original game and seeing how much has changed... I feel lost. I was f2p back in RS2 so my stats weren't very good, and even though I could wield Rune items back then, I can't anymore. I have 49 Attack and 48 Defense, which was enough to use my Rune gear the last time I played. Now I don't even know how/where to train. Although somehow I can mine Rune ore now which used to need level 85, so that's crazy...
Idk if you have done this or not, but given the talk in osrs about a HD version there is likely some people who are going to look at rs3. Would be cool to have a "How to play/understand RS3 for an OSRS player". Just an idea
What is the max your melee stats can go? I know 120 but with potions such as overloads will they max at like 136 or 140 or ??? Thanks. What is the highest you ever had a stat go over 120?
@@worldeater1498 200m xp for normal skills is level 126~. But you can only level to 120. Before all xp gain afterward is considered virtual leveling. Only elite skills bypass this but melee stats are still restricted to 99
Great guides so far! Would there be any updates to your hunter guide since the crystallise tweaks and the anachronia release? Or would it still remain roughly the same methods for better xp rates?
I will update it eventually somewhere this year. It could be in a month or it could be in a few months. I don't know yet. My current hunter guide is still relevant for the most part however xp rates have been nerfed by a large margin so what I mention in the video is probably inaccurate in terms of xp rate.
I'd say for hell hounds at Atk level 60 don't use the hammer it has a really low hit chance. Use a Dragon 2h hit chance is almost 30% better with my attack at level 60
Just putting it out there the blood amulet of fury has jumped to around 18-20m but 1000% worth it if u can buy the bits and for level 50% helps out massively and will save you a lot of bank trips
I'm doing elite dungeon 3 up to the boss then repeat. I got my defense to level 52 and I stopped taking a lot of damage with a duo. So now I think it's smart to level attack and str for more damage and accuracy

Surprised you didn't mention the Cape of Legends for gear setup. It is better than the Obsidian Cape and is essentially free. It does require some questing and 50 in most stats, but definitely a worthwhile upgrade if you don't have a 99 for a skillcape.
Hi, Im melee 58 using super stat pots and prayers trying to do the abyss method in your guide. IDK if something changed but that's not a viable strat anymore. I'm using rune gear with rune halberd, exactly what's shown in your video.
updated 2021 guide 1-40 chickens/trolls 40-50 quests 50-200m ed3 trash runs or slayer. 50 att/str with ovl I get 600k+ xp/hr and ed3 and at 99 over 2m, everything else has become irrelevant for strait melee leveling.

I've gotten my mate into RS3 recently, and he's having trouble trying to get combat stats from 50-70. Can't seem to find a monster inbetween that gives decent xp and doesn't require a full inven of food for 3 kills. Bought him all the gear and food he needs for each upgrade milestone. He's currently in the 50's. Tried the abyss, but didn't deal enough damage. I can't think of a monster that would give decent xp for his level and gear. (Excluding all slayers monsters btw)

When I watch all these guides, or any RS3 videos... They look very different from my game. My menus are still very similar to the OSRS interface. I don't have a lot of menus on the screen, and the ones I have, mostly resemble the OSRS ones I'm familiar with, including the brown colour. That "combat settings" list you showed, with the boxes to tick, for example... For me, it looks like it did in RS2/OSRS, not a big list with a load of text. I haven't seen any videos where it looks like it does for me.
All of the comments are positive so it makes me hesitant to say literally anything bad but I'm really bothered by the fact that this guide is supposed to be a way to build your combat and the first 4 minutes are spent expressing how beneficial it would be to have access to things that... you just can't have access to unless the rest of your account is at least 70 or higher. Why... would your combat be lower? Is the first 4 minutes literally just meant to be helpful for *later*? Who has Invention leveled but doesn't have their combat stats to at least 90 or higher at that point? I guess if you focus on skilling instead of combat, but... mnn...

Use a halberd type weapon (Halberds, lance, nox scythe etc) So in your case use a rune halberd and follow the bar I show in the video (Using cleave, hurricane and quake you will hit multiple targets)

In the abyss is there a quick attack for attacking them? im a lower level so for some reason i cant just one click them to attack, only thing i can think of why i suck so much at surviving in the abyss
any group of monsters that you can deal more damage/heal back then they can dish out use it SS. remember it drains prayer so if you are not using penance aura bring restores or prayer pots. also if you can afford one buy a amulet of souls it increased the health you get back from SS. (50% chance for SS to heal 25-50% more) i genuinely camp SS is most slayer/low level pvm encounters

That's mostly because it really doesn't matter that gear you use till lvl 70+. The true runescape game doesn't start till basically 70+ in all skills.

As an aside Abyss training is unprofitable but amazing to get summoning charms, plus clue scrolls if you have a ring of fortune.

You can go up to 200m xp or level 150 which is when you stop counting xp gains

You need to go inside the jail with that key and talk to the npc inside to get the dusty key

at lvl 30-40 i got 41k xp per hour with ago pots at corpse spiders no food vs trolls with agro pots i got 37k xp per hour using a lot of food
In the abyss is there a quick attack for attacking them? im a lower level so for some reason i cant just one click them to attack, only thing i can think of why i suck so much at surviving in the abyss

Can you make a soul split guide? I have unlocked it but have no idea how to effectively use it
any group of monsters that you can deal more damage/heal back then they can dish out use it SS. remember it drains prayer so if you are not using penance aura bring restores or prayer pots. also if you can afford one buy a amulet of souls it increased the health you get back from SS. (50% chance for SS to heal 25-50% more) i genuinely camp SS is most slayer/low level pvm encounters
I was doing abyss camping for a while but I don't know if it's been patched or not but they stopped becoming aggressive at around 69 on combat skills.
u have to reset it every 10 minutes if thats what you mean?
