  • It is April 2021 where boredom and claustrophobia reign supreme under the dark shadow of disease and pestilence. There is no better time to grab a burger, beer and a bike and experience the outdoors once again. Join me on this adventure as I encounter danger, death and constant peril as I brave the wilderness and the elements.

Fair play to you, 2WJ, for getting your bike up there with those tyres.
At one point I thought you would have to manhandle the rear end out of that soft turf. Another way might be to walk the bike while easing/slipping the clutch, maybe in 2nd gear to reduce torque, and to hopefully avoid wheel spin.
I've had to do that with a beast of a CBF1000 when I stupidly went off road in Kerry (not paying attention, of course!).
I might as well have had slicks, for all the grip available.
Happy and safe riding and camping.

At the time was a bit of a concern getting the bike stuck somewhere with no way to get out. Not sure what the cbf is like but the hyperstrada was reaching the limit of ground clearance at a few points. Though this was pretty fun I'll probably do something in a similar vein of offroad camping adventure this year

I want more freedom in Ireland when it comes to Moto camping. It's seems like the camp grounds are all very strict and mostly for motorhomes or glampers. I'd love to get into wicklow and stay the night in my tent. It's just finding a good path to get you away from the road. Not easy, and ye you have to brave the fact you might get stuck... It could rain also. At the end of the day it's just good to get out there, and you don't see the same views in camp grounds... If only we had camp grounds like in the US, we'd have more places to stop... More space between camp patches... got to light a fire on the grill, but it's not a place for getting locked and taking drugs. Few beers and story's, not lights out at 11:00... Catholic school rules... Wake up... breakfast and on the road again to the next one.

Deadly! I'd love to do something similar this year, but perhaps a little campfire would be good addition for the cold nights out there. I'm pretty sure that around Glenmalure this would be possible

I hope to be on another expedition or two this year. Campire would have been helpful but in the area of the video it's a wildfire hazard as its on the peatlands. I would check out some irish wild camping groups on facebook for the situation in glenmalure, I heard it got trashed a few times by the lockdown party crew last year not sure if staying there is kosher or not nowadays

a bit "epic" in tone for my taste but I still liked it. subbed. I am planning on going around Ireland and doing wild camping so a nice informative video too 😊

Need some knob lies for that Hyper to see what it can do in the sandpit at Glenmalure 😎

I think a change of bike something more adventure oriented may be on the cards for next year we shall see. I think the the hyper is at its limits and I'd like to do more stuff like this it was pretty fun.

@@twowheeljournal Pretty difficult to do legally in Ireland to be fair. I currently have a Tenere 700 and while a tad on the heavy side ive found it unbelievably versatile. Happy enough doing 10 hour days in the saddle or being a big enduro! Ony issue is having to travel some distance from Dublin to get dirt under the tires in a proper sense.
