Thank you for the effort put into this review. It is brilliantly articulated. I can't decide between the DX320 or the DX240 and need your advice, please. The iBasso players, from what I've read in various reviews, seem to have more of what I'm looking for in the way they play music. The question I am trying to answer with the dx240 vs dx320 is this: 1) which will sound better for the way I plan to use the DAP or 2) does it really make any difference at all which one I pick? I have a finished basement in my home with a good variety of gym equipment. I'm knocking it out down there 15-20HRS each week. I need my jams(rock/rap/techno/EDM)!! I have an older iBasso DX80 running to a Rotel preamp which runs to a pair of Rotel RMB-100 (125watts) monoblocks. Then to a pair of 12" JBL speakers. If I wanted really good sound, for the way I'm going to play it, should I go with a DX320 or a DX240 or does it really not make a difference (one or the other - they are both pretty freaking good)? Sometimes when I travel or go to a local gym, I take the DAP so I need the portability. Thank you for your time and response.

Hey, so both are "pretty freaking good" but I think the awesome big screen and responsiveness on the DX320 gives it the edge for using it in as part of a larger media system or a 2 channel setup like that. On the flip side, since you're not plugged directly into IEMs or headphones, the improvements in sound on the DX320 won't be as noticeable, and the DX240 is still a great player. Hopefully that helps!

It does help and I very much appreciate your prompt response. Thank you!! I will go DX240. Screen size and responsiveness, for me, is not worth the price difference. I will also not be using any IEM’s or headphones regularly, so any sonic improvement from DX240 to DX320 probably won’t be noticeable. Again, thank you for your time and insight.

I have an A&K CA1000 which I purchased almost primarily due to my needs: mostly listening at home and hooking up to my computer/audio system. I couldn't be happier with the unit, both in terms of meeting my needs as well as the sound quality. I have taken it on several trips, and I have 2 complaints for an otherwise awesome experience: the unit is so heavy and bulky that a case would be nice to protect its sleek looks and prevent scratches (I got a few dings on the unit, small, but once you see them, you can't UNSEE them); second, the Bluetooth antenna/performance is pretty poor. The BT was so unreliable, that I abandoned it after a few hours and stuck with my wired connection. I know that BT audio is far inferior to wired anyway, but when you're walking through an airport, it is so much easier to use BT and leave the unit in your carry-on.

i was thinking about upgrade to cayin n8ii when I was using dx320 with amp 13, but after switching to amp14, i think i'm just gonna stick with the dx320, for me it almost sound the same and the screen on dx320 is just the best u can get on a dap, paired with ier z1r(gold and silver DIY cable), I think I'm done lol

could you break down the difference between the stock amp and amp14 on dx320 ? and how does dx320 with amp14 stack up to the players you have listened to ?

What is the manufacturer/model# of the DAP stand your using to hold the A&K SP3000 in your review? I have several large transportable DACs like the Cayin N8II and FiiO M17 etc that i use when on the go traveling around to different hotels for client calls and need a larger sturdy desktop DAP/Transportable DAC stand/holder.

I forget the exact model, but that's a fairly inexpensive tripod phone stand that I got off Amazon. Seems to do the job pretty well.

Love your video! Any plan on reviewing the LP6 lineup? Gold, Platinum or Ti version

    • @BloomAudio
      @BloomAudio  2 года назад

There's some potential there, as we briefly had an LP6 on loan and might be able to get it again. I'd like to do a video with a few $3-$4K players sometime in the New Year, but we'll see what we have available.

Love the video! Do you think someone with a truly high-end car audio system would notice a difference in sound quality between a flagship DAP like an SP30000 vs. their smartphone when connecting the device to the car system via Bluetooth? What if connecting using the USB-c? I'm happy to invest in a product like this to maximize my car audio experience (which is already excellent), but I only want to do so if I'm reasonably confident that there would be an appreciable difference in sound quality.

Hey, so we've worked with a couple people who are using high end DAPs with very high-end car audio systems, and the feedback we've gotten is that the performance is immediately noticeably better using USB or analog line-out/AUX. With Bluetooth, it's still better, but not as big of a difference. In my personal use, there's even a noticeable difference between a phone and a more budget friendly option like the DX170 with a nicer "stock" audio system.

@@BloomAudio Thanks for the feedback! Unfortunately, I think my car's USBCs only play stored files as opposed to enabling file transfer. I think I'm only going to be able to avail myself to the bluetooth. I'm getting the SA300. SHould be here tomorrow. At the least, I'll have a great DAP for my headphones.

Still new to all this. So between Kaan Max and the DX320 who you got? Also looking at Fiio M17 as well but hella bulky.

That's where the Acro goes wrong without having an coax and optical out as a head unit for a headfi system that uses streaming apps and or music on its hard drive

Yeah, that's one of the few we haven't heard. We just got a chance to listen to the L&P LP6 and P6 Pro as well as a few of the top Sonys (NWWM1Z and DMP-Z1) before we started on the video, but haven't gotten our hands on any of the higher end Fiio players.

Hello, this is very informative, thank you. I am using Chord Mojo2/Poly with both IEM (Fir Neon 4) and as a streamer/dac in my home setup. Are these sound quality (technically) wise in the same league or maybe better? I have no experience with DAP's but I might consider. I like the Mojo combo a lot (which I believe is a case of 1+1=3). Also I like the Fir a lot but am also looking for something a bit more technical for critical listening (even a bit more forward in the midrange than the rather recessed miss of my Fir). Any thoughts?

These are all very expensive gadgets ...these are massive bricks to have in your pocket. I just think daps should be portable enough to have a usable nice screen but not so big it feels like having another big smarphone

My iPhone is damn convenient and sounds just like the DAP's I have tried with my IEM's. I am waiting for Samsung or Apple to make a special edition A&K phone which I would be willing to pay a lot for. Also, there are a few songs I enjoy Dolby Atmos on and you don't get that on any DAP.
