A note on having multiple telepaths. 1. There is only one licensed commercial telepath living on B5. So it would be very hard to hire two at the same time. 2. Commercial telepaths are trained as lie detectors. The duty of a licensed commercial telepath is to inform everyone at the meeting if anyone is lying. So having two would be redundant. The company who hired the telepath isn't just making sure the other party is only telling the truth, they are proving they are telling the truth too!
Now, you can argue that this gives the telepath too much power in the negotiations, that they have the ability to be corrupt and possibly favor one of the sides on a deal on the sly. The PsyCorps and its rules exist to control, train, and ensure telepaths to make sure such things don't happen...certainly, especially from our viewpoint in our society, the idea that only 1 witness can be fully trusted is wild. However, it is the standard for this society, they have to accept it that way. And to justify that complete telepath trust, remember that PsyCorps is the boss of commercial telepaths, and so at some point telepaths would have to tested and reviewed by the PsyCorps, including submitting to telepathic scans on their OWN honesty and such. And since PsyCorps want to maintain their power and image, they would not allow a telepath to commit any crimes of such nature. Let the general populace know that official telepaths might possibly be untrustworthy? No way such a thing would be allowed! Without their approval, at least.
Also strong enough telepaths can block another telepath from scanning thoughts....which basically means, that if one side brings a telepath ensure everything is on the up and up, and the another side brings a telepath of their own(who may or may not be strong enough), then that's pretty much as good as admitting that they're going to lie or want to hide something from you. Rather bad start for negotiations of any kind.
It's also not really expected that a telepath would be taking sides. The commercial telepath is just a job description given by Psy Corps, who are assumed to be keeping everyone safe from telepaths and have absolute control over them. There aren't any other telepaths to hire, hiring two from Psy Corps would be redundant, and there's no way they would turn on their betters because of the leash Psy Corps has on them (right? could you even imagine...)
@@Ruosteinenknight telepaths would not be blocking each other. They are strictly hired to make sure each side is telling the truth. They're not there to engage in psychic combat for their clients.
Garibaldi's second favorite thing in the universe is Looney Tunes, and most specifically ones starring Daffy Duck. It's easy to forget the first time watching, because it was referenced all the way back in the second (or maybe even first, I don't quite remember) episode of the first season. He spent all episode talking about his favorite thing in the universe...okay, second favorite thing...and how he was going to spend an evening with it, and just needed someone to share it with. Sinclair gave him a 'I don't want to know', but at the end of the episode the brick joke pays off with Garibaldi giving popcorn to a baffled Delenn while he watches DUCK DODGERS...IN THE 28TH-AND-A-HALF CENTURY!
