Wu Dan shuan ping lol. What a great family , calligraphy , martial arts , philosophy , and the mystical metaphysical . The Taoist and daoist lifestyle looks great there , you are blessed to have that in your life , I'm happy for you guys.
Great to see you reunited with Master Gu! If it might seem doable to send packages of Master Gu's tea to Europe, please let us know. I would very much like to buy some.
Hi, George. I've been reading a lot about Taoism to help find my own inner peace. Although I only discovered your channel last week, I've been watching all your videos and it's a joy to watch you on your journey and to hear your insights.
This was great, I have been researching "learning powerful methods to build your Chi energy" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Fellmeroni Rudimentary Chi - (just google it ) ? Ive heard some decent things about it and my work buddy got excellent results with it.
Another powerful and amazing video from both you Mr. Thompson and Master Gu ☯️ Both of you are presenting harmonious energy to those that accept it by this channel greatly. 😌
💜💜💜 when Master Gu sings and plays the guitar....Honestly I have no idea what is being sung, but you feel 100% of the energy. Glad to see you're back and looking very forward to seeing more of this amazing journey. The mountains look breathtaking like always ☯️
Hey man, Going to Wudang myself very soon to learn as well. 4 long years and I am finally ready to go! I am nervous but seeing your videos makes me all the more excited. You have inspired me to possibly document my journey as well! keep it up and I look forward to the next one!
The Song at 5:48 sounds interesting and kind of familiar for some reason. If someone will ever see this, mind telling me if it's a commonly sung song and what's the name of it?
Jim Keen She was bound to stay here for ONE year and so she did! She was home to South China to start her job which her family had helped to find and - to complete her marriage. Indeed, when she was here just like everybody here she regard here family and helped with cooking and most importantly, helped to make some fun videos. We all wish her life long good luck!
Hello George! Thank you for sharing your journey! I've seen a few of the Tea Time Taoism videos but I'm curious if Master Gu is teaching you Gong Fu tea ceremony? Would love to see a video of Master Gu, serving tea and explaining Wudang style of tea ceremony. Cha Dao is such an amazing practice, I love it! Also, is it possible to buy some of Master Gu's tea? :)
one thing i've noticed when i practice bagua circle walking is my first few movements especially first initial few movements always contain the sword finger..i have no idea as to why this is..though in honesty my whole circle walking has transformed from just walking round a circle alternating or turning... to now a circle walking that consists of a myriad of movements..stances..postures...etc..the sword finger happens to be one i noticed since its associated mostly with taiji.(my teacher also said its a prelude to bagua straight sword training..)..is there a clue within this as to why they say bagua, taji and shingyee..are known collectively as a family in internal arts...this vid was a couple of years ago.when you were first learning.so no doubt bro..your sword form now must be pretty good..much love and god bless always....😍
You want to tell me you can't find this level of sword teaching in your own home town ? I'd say the nearest community centre would offer something like that, and without rubbing the edge of the sword against the arm.
George Thompson haha awesome mate I would really love to meet up when you return, can show each other some stuff and talk about China. Would be a great insight for my journey.
I'm litteraly eating my heart out here!;) But it hurts so nice. You lucky...person, i guess. How are you paying for your stay, your travels and the training? Is the youtube money enough for that? And would you tell us how much it might cost to be able to live and train with your master? I'm paying my way in China as an ESL teacher (who'd have thunk, right?!) and have neither the time nor the money, right now, to go for full time training. But I hear it might be possible to strike a satisfying balance if you find the right job. Focusing on learning Mandarin and getting the necessary job experience, right now. Next year (TT), we'll see.
For a year the site said 80,000 yuan a year and 9,000 yuan a month. YunTian Academy does offer a program that cost 500 USD monthly, you can choose to focus on kung fu or Mandarin, there is also 3 combo programs. (For the few who won't do the conversion 9000 yuan is $1383.53 and $500 is 3252.56 yuan.) You're paying for the one on one time, which is invaluable, and there is a spiritual and intellectual teaching going on here as well.
ask gu about it but in the parra-frase'd verison: Even the royal mandate of the emper'or of china could not get the taoist sage leave his spot by the river fishing. The Sage is written to have stated, when the emperor understands when would a turtle happy with it's tail in the warm mud, leave such a spot, then he would be happy to report the royal palace for the court's appointment. Chuang-tzu.
Na. I prefer the purist, sunrise, wash , train , work. Think there's too much commercial and spiritual lines being pushed for money at the expense of the art. Too many want the shiny shiny , big dramatic movement that they can charge more to teach even without explaining the reason for this now "dance form" or tribal historical scene. Unfortunately this is how I see Shoalin 😢it's become a money machine and everything services the machine, with little or no interest in the historical or belief system. We have lost sight of the art for a new shiny sword and pretty belts. Lovely ladies, hope the art survives. Coming next , Tai chi cage fighting with neon lights 🤢

Welcome back!
massive mileage out of that drone. awesome
I have a question. Does Master Gu practice the Fly Whisk (Fuchen)??? It would be nice to see him doing a form with that if he does.
I'd love to see the complete sword form. Looks a lot like the ones I do.
Maybe I missed a video somewhere, but how did you end up in China training with Master Gu?
Glad to see you back on the ponderosa. 😅
I would have loved to see the actual sword form done by master gu
Bit of a crooner as well eh George ?? cool song. Good to see you back
Amazing

For someone they like to train in the arts birth land versus the outside. Not to mention you have to be mindful of frauds and Mcdojos.
Can i just go there and learn tai chi??
i love it, makes me smile so much aha.
do you plan on teaching one day?
haha when I get back home I'm going to teach my friends ;)
George Thompson haha awesome mate I would really love to meet up when you return, can show each other some stuff and talk about China. Would be a great insight for my journey.

One of the songs at the end was a Chinese version of Katyusha that I've never seen before.

do you know the story about the turtle with it's tail in the mud?
ask gu about it but in the parra-frase'd verison: Even the royal mandate of the emper'or of china could not get the taoist sage leave his spot by the river fishing. Bloody Chinese hippy retreat…
What a remarkably profound comment! Frankly I’m amazed you managed to put that into so few words.
