George, now my disciple with name 汤宁资虚, is to be back in Wudang Mountains in 4 weeks and then will take flight back to UK in Mid May. 天下没有不散的筵席。This is a Chinese proverb which means: under the heaven, there is not even one banquet never to be finished. Me and George of course appreciate each other very much and we enjoy our time a lot! But he originally came to China with the term of Kung Fu ( of Bruce Lee , Jack Chan and Jet Li’s type ) in mind; he even had reserved a manastery in which, he had been told, Kung Fu would be taught ..... Four months has passed, and he has spent time all with me in Wudang Mountains, a sacred land of Taoism and cradle of Tai chi chuan. So, despite I don’t really like the idea of his leaving, I completely agree he should at least to spend some time over there - at least - to match his slogan : In China Learning Kung Fu and Tai chi + sharing Chinese Philosophy Me and him agree he spend three weeks there. After that he will be back to finish a couple of videos and help me technically with video making. I’ve also got a tri-pod! I m going to continue sharing Taoist wisdom or Vlog those life tips of Taoist Practisers in the heartland of China in the east....
Master Gu, your wisdoms are of great benefit to me, I look forward to your videos and grateful to George for all of his positive energy, transparency and inspiration he has gifted. Is there a link to your channel? :-)
Ryn McKenna, on computers you should be able to click Master Gu's name next to his avatar: Wudang Taoist Wellness Academy, and that will take you to his channel.
Wudang Taoist Wellness Academy - Wonderful! George’s videos have made me feel like a part of your family too. They have also reinvigorated my love of Taoism and have added a depth to my Tai Chi practice. Thank you for sharing your wisdom.
Thank you, Master Gu, for sharing a piece of your life. your family, and this beautiful, ancient wisdom and culture with George, and the rest of the world! I have been studying Zen Buddhism, Hinduism, Norse & Greek Mythology, and all sorts of different traditions and cultures.. but Taoism really stands out to me! I truly wish to come visit you one day!
Congrats George!! I love your videos dude, they have a unique flow and the tai chi is just amazing. I hope your vision of millennials using tai chi to change the world comes true.
Hi George. An excellent video again. Congratulations on taken discipleship. I live a monks life in the UK, my days are meditation, nature and tai chi. I live on a boat in the south of england and live a fairly reclusive lifestyle, surrounded by beauty. You're more than welcome to visit me in the summer months.
I should be in the blackwater in May. So that is Essex, I could be in the orwell, so Suffolk. All depends on the weather. You're tai chi is progressing lovely. You're movement is really changing. Wonderful
Congratulations George Thompson !! Being a disciple is a big responsibility. I wish I became a disciple of my shifu at your age rather in my 40s. haha. And it's interesting that you taught your shifu how to break the law and post on RUclips. ;-) It's amazing that you found a great shifu, and that he speaks English as well as he does, considering he is so isolated.
Congratulations George for your celebration like disciple of Master Gu two years ago and form part of this beautiful family of Taichi in these very magical Mountains of Wudang and more with this fog behind you...very impressive !!! 🙏🙏🙏 This sacred place is full of mysticism.... Thanks for sharing us this magical moment with your new family...!!! 😊🙏👍⛅🌈 (Heart and Light in Concioussness)
Sad to see an end to this beautiful journey. Absolutely inspiring from the very first video. Word's cannot describe the depth Master Gu and you helped bring to the Tao Te Ching. Thank you so much for bringing me along your journey and Master Gu for sharing in his abundant wisdom. Now on to other amazing new journey 👍
😄 Happy for you although this comment is belated. Very Auspicious Occasion. Congratulations from Australia, Thank You for sharing as i am benefitting & feeling inspired.
Congratulations on your discipleship George. I am happy to have come across your channel a Serpentza vlog. I will go back and watch some of the vlogs you have posted prior to this and look forward to seeing your development in Daoism. I am Buddhist myself, but there is a lot in common we share and I also have a Taijiquan practice. Best of luck.
I am Wu style practitioner for many yrs. I appreciate your journey documentation Would like to visit wudang mt someday Thanks for sharing this personal time with master gu
Thanks for everything George! I really felt like I was there with you all! I've watched all your videos - and my spiritual journey continues! PErhaps we will cross paths one day.
Belated congratulations...I discovered you and your channel shortly after the lockdown began and I was furloughed from work. I am very impressed with your dedication and information. Your videos are entertaining and informative. I anticipate that I will enroll in the online courses since I cannot get to China. I only wish, like yourself, I was as enlightened in my youth as you are now. As I am on the verge of retiring in September, perhaps it was just meant to be that I found all of this even at this autumn-ish time of life...
A fantastic video. Beautiful ceremony. We are all going to miss Master Gu. Best wishes for the next part of your journey. We will be with you following along.
Thanks George I must add I am so glad you are not beating yourself up about the 'mess up'. You have certainly inspired me and many others not just to follow Dao but to question their own lives and meanings. I am so glad you have become a disciple .. Myself I have have been invited back to a Kung Fu school by a friend after 30 years (hope for us all 67 on 19th March) take care mate and thanks. Ps that series music is so what a I used to watch late sixties stylee.
happy to see you guys brings taoism to the outer world! im from vietnam, i desparately clicked around on youtube to find a master to learn taoist pratiction. luckily i bumped into your chanel which i definitely find interesting! yes i finally found a person interpreting the ancient eastern practiction in a western-scientific-philosophical way
A disciple in such a short amount of time? You must be incredibly gifted George, even if it doesn't show in your movement. I asked my sifu if he had ever heard of anyone becoming a disciple after only a few months, and he gave me a very dirty look as if i had said something rude.
I lived in China for ten years and visited Shaolin and did Kung Fu. I visited Tiantong Temple which was great too. I would have loved to have visited Wudang. Maybe one day I will. I really appreciate your videos. I love Daoism and Chan Buddhism!!! I miss China, for the more spiritual side of life. I live in Yorkshire now, but I can still do Qi Gong, Ba Gua and Tai Chi now and I do Meditation. Great to see your videos. Thanks!!!
Hey George. I've been following your videos thanks for putting this together. I've been in Wudang several times and met Master Gu in some of my travels. I will be back in a couple of weeks. Anyway, I was looking into cameras for good filming, may I ask, could you let us know what camera are you using? The quality of the image is amazing! Thanks
Enjoyed your short stories and your experiences, pieces of everyday-life, thank for effort to share, it gave us viewers pleasant time too. Hope you get some sort of inner seed that will developing in future onward. Best wishes. (the opening moment of that video was very funny-taoist)
Congratulations! A good path to walk. :) Thanks for the links above. Watching your films help me to continue with training and make me want to go back another time to Wudang. Take care and keep your smile! Question: When I click on the digitalsellz-link I get only to the maintenance page of digitalsellz. Am I the only one experiencing this?
Congratulations for that achievement, and I have a question, have you learned Mandarin or Cantonese for that travel ? and which was more useful to you ? Thanks
RAlphaEl - If you are looking to learn a Chinese language to facilitate your travel in China, without a doubt you should learn Mandarin. You will be able to use Mandarin all over China, including Guangdong province. However, if you learn Cantonese, you can only use it in Guangdong province but not other parts of China. Mandarin is the official Chinese language, Cantonese is merely a dialect in Guangdong province.
San Feng Pai. translated as San Feng Sect was founded by Zhang San Feng. His name can be translated as Triple Mad Zhang. So Crazy Zhang. So San Feng Pai can also be translated as Triple Mad Sect.
Nice. Tao is always best. All people should take time to learn from a source that has been there from the beginning, and not the ideas of (man) ( the world). Peace.
Hi! I recently found your vlog from SerpentZA. I'm interested in scale modelling and dioramas. Which of the mountain monasteries appealed to you the most aesthetically? I would like to make it in miniature form. Thanks for the input?
I joined a class that does the tai-chi 1:26 the same basic thing... not for me. yet. I learned it slow and just felt too distracted and needed tutoring, I guess. I do use the movement daily to stretch free style though.
