Here after the 2019 AMAs and actually crying with pride and joy after seeing how far she's gone. Her journey is so beautiful, and we, her fans, are more than lucky to be able to witness it and be living the same time as her to witness how far she'll still go.
@@tahaghassemi2381 those were just weird sounds we call music now as they were a little similar to what Taylor Switt aka the inventor of music did, but proper music only started after our lord and savior released Tim McGraw in 2006
She is the one artist who, in 50+ years, we’ll all be talking about in the same conversation as The Beatles, The Stones, Springsteen, etc… I hope she knows how much we all love her and how proud all us Swifties are of our girl💖
That's a bold statement. Time will tell. I'm not so sure about that, but I'm sure she'll be around longer than her peers that are currently hot. I think she's smart about her music catalog because even though she's doing pop now, she can easily go back to country and acoustic songs. I can't imagine her doing "Shake It Off" in her 60s, but she could definitely do this song or "Cardigan" at that age because those kinds of songs sound timeless.
I love Taylor Swift because she is honest, kind and doesn't matter what you do or don't think about her because if you ask she will be giving her autograph to you
@@aleccopileit's not bold really, she has revived vinyl industry and revived sales of physical copies in the age of streaming. Her songs are staples than trendy, pop or country. Her writing is top-notch, with a literary quality to it. Professors are taking Swift vs Shakespeare test and fumbling. Not to say she's anyway near Shakespeare, but she's got writing chops. It's not bold at all to assume she could win great awards just for writing like Bob Dylan. She has already been compared to Beatles by the rolling stone magazine. So it's really not a bold statement. I bet someone must have made the same comment about Beatles back when fans said Beatles were gonna be remembered like some other older greats. So..

@@Chelssums i would not be against the idea of adult TS maybe having some romantic relationships with women but i highly doubt she was going that direction when she was 15 in highschool in a very conservative state. Also, this song is just listing things about her relationship/ herself that the person would remember after they broke up. That she wore the blue jeans often (hence, them being faded) and the little black dress she wore on special occasions maybe (a date for example?), and that her favorite singer was Tim McGraw
@Daniel Robinson Um, Sorry. There are many people around the world who doesn't know a lot of important people. And those people find those never-heard people through songs like this, and other mentions and matters. Please don't call anyone a junkie! Be kind!
I was 14 and I still remember the first time I saw this on CMT. Now I'm 30 and seeing her live for the first time by way of the Eras Tour was the most incredible experience ever. I am never fully recovering from that night.
excuse me but how is that possible? That song was released 14 years ago and 14+14=28 not 30 so you couldnt possibly be 14 when ot came out or youre lying about your current age.
I used to be one of Taylor Swift's biggest fans. I know there are a lot of people these days who see Taylor as a pop superstar, but to me, she'll always be the innocent teenager with a guitar, writing songs about what she knew.
Debut is at the bottom of my ranking, mostly because I feel that her songwriting and storytelling has improved so much through the years. But whenever come back to these songs and really listen closely to the lyrics, I realize that she’s been an amazing songwriter all along. “The moon like a spotlight on the lake” -beautiful!
I’m actually not much of a country fan, but Debut is the exception. It’s ranked 5 for me, mostly because there are some other albums that are just amazing, but still.
people can't expect her to the stay the same her entire life. this was almost 10 years ago... if you're saying you haven't changed in that amount of time you are LYING. she is just as amazing now as she was back then. loved her from this all the way to shake it off. SLAY TAYLOR.
Yeah your right. It's just that in these years my taste in music didn't change and hers apparently did.... :(. I will always love her country songs more then her pop songs. Still curious about the new record though.
This song started it all. She has really evolved since this CD came out and she keeps reinventing herself. A sign of a great artist. In 9 years she conquered the world
I’m an old Taylor swift fan. I’m 41 now but in my early/mid 20’s i went to a country music appreciation concert in Turlock California . A couple of big timers got out then the “nobody’s” came out . The people you’ve never heard of. It was Taylor, she was so young a teenager signing her old songs from her first album. Loved Taylor at that time. Now almost 2 decades later, my youngest son is 7 and listens to all of her new music and begs me to go to a concert. I like her older music better but love how my son loves her now just as I did back in the day.
I'm 42 and remember listening to this song all the time in my mid 20s when not many people had heard of her. I wish this song was on the Eras tour set list
Nostalgia is stronger for me. Watching Taylor perform Tim McGraw with Tim McGraw and Faith Hill in Nashville that night, the feels were strong. Like that’s my childhood. It makes me feel so old and ahhhhhh I love her
This was the song that started it all! I can't wait for the re-record. I hope Taylor Swift (Taylor's Version) is released last, not only to hear how her voice has developed over the years but it will be such a full circle moment for her and her fans!
would'nt it be SO cool if it was her last album (not that I want her to quit anytime soon or ever) but if she does and this would be her last I'd be crying!💙💙💙💙💙 (mostly because it's her last and that i'v been waiting for this version 4 FREAKING years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! can't wait 4 speak now TV💜💜💜💜💜💜
I wrote a country song about how people made Taylor change and then criticized her for it. And how the fans know that the old Taylor isn't dead: Hey babe, you were innocent and young, Never spoke a bad word to anybody, Hey babe, you were always the one, Who people laughed at and used . Always on the right side, Looking on the bright side, Baby you're a charm. But looking back in hindsight, You have changed your mindset, It was about time. Cause they took you, shook you, Baby they used you, And you took it like a lamb. Cause they tricked you, they tripped you, Baby they bit you, And finally you bit back. So how can they blame you for changing, when that's all they ever did, But I think inside somewhere baby, The old Taylor is hid. Hey babe, I know you were right to move, Cause they were merciless and vile, Hey babe, I think I know who, Has been hurting you for a while. Darling, I know it hurts when they dress up and trick you into their place. And I know how it hurts when the only know how to criticize your face. But my advice is to do what you do, To the haters say you've changed but your real fans know that you're true. Yeah, the Taylor we loved is still you.

Exactly. We coul feel her essence from the very first start. This makes me so emotional...
She came out of the womb understanding how hard metaphors hit
she wasn't the only writer, the industry wanted her to get famous so they helped her
"Tim McGraw"
He said the way my blue eyes shined
Put those Georgia stars to shame that night

That had a tendency of gettin' stuck
On back roads at night
And I was right there beside him all summer long
And then the time we woke up to find that summer gone
But when you think Tim McGraw
I hope you think my favorite song
The one we danced to all night long
The moon like a spotlight on the lake
When you think happiness
I hope you think that little black dress
Think of my head on your chest
And my old faded blue jeans
When you think Tim McGraw
I hope you think of me
September saw a month of tears
And thankin' God that you weren't here
To see me like that
But in a box beneath my bed
Is a letter that you never read
From three summers back
It's hard not to find it all a little bitter sweet
And lookin' back on all of that, it's nice to believe
When you think Tim McGraw
I hope you think my favorite song
The one we danced to all night long
The moon like a spotlight on the lake
When you think happiness
I hope you think that little black dress
Think of my head on your chest
And my old faded blue jeans
When you think Tim McGraw
I hope you think of me
And I'm back for the first time since then
I'm standin' on your street
And there's a letter left on your doorstep
And the first thing that you'll read is:
When you think Tim McGraw
I hope you think my favorite song
Someday you'll turn your radio on
I hope it takes you back to that place
When you think happiness
I hope you think that little black dress
Think of my head on your chest
And my old faded blue jeans
When you think Tim McGraw
I hope you think of me

And thankin' God that you weren't here
To see me like that
But in a box beneath my bed
Is a letter that you never read
From three summers back
It's hard not to find it all a little bitter sweet
And lookin' back on all of that, it's nice to believe

So..
Sorry she's beyond them all..

Can't decide what's stronger: the emotion from the song or the major nostalgia :')

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is how a musical legend started.
I wrote a country song about how people made Taylor change and then criticized her for it. And how the fans know that the old Taylor isn't dead:
Hey babe, you were innocent and young,
Never spoke a bad word to anybody,
Hey babe, you were always the one,
Who people laughed at and used .
Always on the right side,
Looking on the bright side,
Baby you're a charm.
But looking back in hindsight,
You have changed your mindset,
It was about time.
Cause they took you, shook you,
Baby they used you,
And you took it like a lamb.
Cause they tricked you, they tripped you,
Baby they bit you,
And finally you bit back.
So how can they blame you for changing, when that's all they ever did,
But I think inside somewhere baby,
The old Taylor is hid.
Hey babe, I know you were right to move,
Cause they were merciless and vile,
Hey babe, I think I know who,
Has been hurting you for a while.
Always on the right side,
Looking on the bright side,
Baby you're a charm.
But looking back in hindsight,
You have changed your mindset,
It was about time.
Cause they took you, shook you,
Baby they used you,
And you took it like a lamb.
Cause they tricked you, they tripped you,
Baby they bit you,
And finally you bit back.
So how can they blame you for changing, when that's all they ever did,
But I think inside somewhere baby,
The old Taylor is hid.
Darling, I know it hurts when they dress up and trick you into their place.
And I know how it hurts when the only know how to criticize your face.
But my advice is to do what you do,
To the haters say you've changed but your real fans know that you're true.
Yeah, the Taylor we loved is still you.
Cause they took you, shook you,
Baby they used you,
And you took it like a lamb.
Cause they tricked you, they tripped you,
Baby they bit you,
And finally you bit back.
So how can they blame you for changing, when that's all they ever did,
But I think inside somewhere baby,
The old Taylor is hid.
Hope she can see it and sing it for you ❤️💙
