”The Square” - Ruben Östlund & Per Magnus Johansson (English subtitles)

The General Psychiatry Clinic at the Sahlgrenska University Hospital invited its staff and the public to a conversation about Ruben Östlund's film "The Square". The participants in the conversation were Ruben Östlund, film director and winner of the 2017 Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival, the psychoanalyst and historian of ideas Per Magnus Johansson, and Tobias Nordin, psychiatrist and head of the General Psychiatry Clinic at the Sahlgrenska University Hospital. In the conversation, Ruben Östlund freely shares his thoughts on the film, and reveals his next film project. Ruben Östlund and Per Magnus Johansson engage in a meandering dialogue on the human condition and the different paths lives can take. Starting from their respective fields of knowledge and professional experiences, the conversation spans from philosophical questions about humanity to the challenges facing psychiatry in the present age and in the future. The conversation took place on November 14, 2017, at the cinema Filmstaden Bergakungen in Gothenburg, with an audience of over 350 people.

Psykiatri Affektiva vid Sahlgrenska Universitetssjukhuset bjöd in medarbetare och övriga intresserade till ett samtal utifrån Ruben Östlunds film ”The Square”. I samtalet medverkade filmregissören och 2017 års vinnare av Guldpalmen Ruben Östlund, psykoanalytikern och idéhistorikern Per Magnus Johansson och Tobias Nordin som är psykiater och verksamhetschef vid Sahlgrenska Universitetssjukhuset. I samtalet är Ruben Östlund öppenhjärtig med sina tankar om filmen och vi får även veta vad hans nästa filmprojekt är. Mellan Ruben Östlund och Per Magnus Johansson utspelar sig ett reflekterande samtal om människors olika villkor och livsöden. Utifrån deras respektive kunskapsfält och yrkesmässiga erfarenheter bryts olika frågeställningar som gäller såväl det allmänmänskliga som den psykiatriska vårdens framtida utmaningar. Samtalet hölls den 14 november 2017 på filmstaden Bergakungen i Göteborg inför mer än 350 människor.
