@@emyunster VRV technology can be used as ductless or ducted or a combination of both. It can even be used with a gas furnace for a dual fuel option. A VRV system utilizes one line set going into the home and branching off into other zones if needed. The Daikin FIT works as a traditional unitary system and is not capable of multiple zones and is only working as an electric air handler or a gas furnace in a dual fuel set up. I hope this helps!
The air-hander replaced an LP gas furnace utilizing the existing ductwork in the home. This also allows the use of backup electric heat, humidification, and the other benefits of a traditional forced air system. The VRV Life is also compatible with a gas furnace making it dual-fuel capable as well.
How did you branch off to the ductless air handler upstairs. Did you use a branch box, or just attach a splitter pipe. Lastly is it possible to set this unit or one similar with all ductless air handlers. Sorry for the 20 questions, I’m just trying to understand.
@@fritzyndawolf Yes it is a type of splitter pipe called a REFNET. It allows the refrigerant line to split off into another one. Daikin does have branch boxes as well. You can do this system in any combination. All ductless, mixed, and even works with dual fuel gas furnaces and ductless on the same outdoor unit.
@@grantmcvay4190 now will I also have to install a wall thermostat/controller if I’m going with all ductless wall handlers. Or can I just leave that out and just set it up like a basic mini split system.
So VRV technology is actually only when you install ductless unit head? What if house only ducted? Daikin Fit is not vrv will it be the same?

What is the reason for the air handler when using VRV !!
