    “Volatiles are everywhere there are like 10 on every rooftop” meanwhile actual gameplay shows that you still have to go out of your way to go into a chase, and only one was in sight on ground floor.
    “It’s impossible to run away from Volatiles!” Meanwhile aybysyk easily evades with all these limitations placed on him.
    I’m 100% sure someone or some people will make an excuse or attempt to “debunk” this by saying that their game plays differently (there are Volatiles everywhere in my game!!!) or claiming that this is “irrelevant because you have 100 hours!”
    You went above and beyond to show how easy and replicable it is to both stealth around and evade Volatiles at night. If someone can’t do it then even with all their skills and items, then it really is just a skill issue.

      🙏 My thoughts exactly, put in words.
      I'd in fact argue with those people that if this video is anything to go by, Volatile AI needs a buff. BIG TIME. Their density is not the problem.
      Funny enough, I have no motivation issues doing a full night run in DL1 because the chase there actually feels dangerous and exciting. Here I was getting bored even after dawdling around and getting lost in the copy-paste of Old Villedor, and despite imposing all those limitations. And decided to end it "earlier" for the simple reason that chases feel lackluster because of the laughable AI.

    Every time I see somebody complain about nights being "too hard" (usually Reddit xd) it's kinda funny. The night's are for sure an improvement from the piss easy night's before but are still laughable, I do understand that some of these players are new but still, these guys (also usually on easy and obviously higher level than show in the video) complain sometimes that it is brutally difficult and "impossible to progress". Each post gets funnier than the last. Real good demonstration I'll make sure to link this video to the next post like that (though they'll probably say something like "my game is different, I don't know what's happening"). Thanks Aybysyk.

    Once you realize they don't actually keep up with you but instead rely on spawning new enemies next you it cheapens the night

    • @AussieGG
      @AussieGG Год назад +8

      @eldenringer4630it does that as well but to a lesser extent since there are no rooftop spawnpoints

    • @aybysyk
      @aybysyk  Год назад +9

      @eldenringer4630 Try running in a straight line in DL1 after aggroing a volatile and see how he'll keep up with you. They even have a jumping swipe attack that they do while in a chase and take off a huge chunk of your health.
      Like I said in the video, DL1 volatile AI is weirdly much better from a horror/scare immersion factor, at least from a fresh inexperienced player's perspective.

    • @aybysyk
      @aybysyk  Год назад +4

      @eldenringer4630 I am aware. I just did a run (this video) where I did that a few times.
      My point was they don't. Run in a straight line and as soon as you round a corner you'll have fresh spawns all around you (as the original comment says) and the ones left behind around the corner will despawn unless you circle back. That's some patchwork AI right there and in as far as I've observed DL1 doesn't do that.
      I'm planning on covering all this in an AI exposé soon.

    • @aybysyk
      @aybysyk  Год назад +2

      @eldenringer4630 I didn't say it has to be the same. Why do these conversations always end at this "not everything has to be the same" when given an objective argument? Lol
      We are talking about AI, not something subjective. There is an objective way to look at it in this case.
      If you said that about the artstyle or the story, that it should be different for both games, you would have a leg to stand on since that's an opinion. I wouldn't agree with it but that would be your opinion and it's subjective so there's no objective right or wrong.
      In this case, we are talking about gameplay mechanics that add to the core essence of the franchise. It very much has to be on *_at least the same level of competence_* as DL1's AI, if not *_BETTER_*

    • @aybysyk
      @aybysyk  Год назад +6

      @eldenringer4630 Yea so? What other franchises do has no bearing on what DL should do, just because they did it a certain way doesn't mean DL has to do it too. What kinda logic is that? Lol. And I'm not talking about those other franchises. I'm talking about Dying Light.
      You're failing to understand the point. A sequel has to be iterative when compared to its predecessor(s) to an extent. If there are games that change things drastically, there's an equal if not larger amount of games that *BUILT* on the previous ones. Doesn't have to be a copy-paste.
      RDR2 feels very much like an RDR game. Dishonored 2 is an amazing successor to Dishonored 1 while introducing a completely new (optional) character with her own set of skills and completely new maps. BioShock has been doing it time and time again with each new iteration. The GTA games have been pretty iterative.
      Just because some games changed things up doesn't mean it's valid for DL2 to do that and water down DL1's AI and gameplay mechanics. At a certain point, it's doing something different just for the sake of doing something different. If DL1 did some things badly, those are what should be changed or improved in DL2 along with introducing new fun mechanics in DL2 but *without* watering down earlier stuff.. At a bare minimum, a sequel is expected to have the same level of gameplay curve that the previous entries had, IF not better.

    I would personally reduce volatile but make their Ai equal to alien isolation alien. Make one of them hard instead making 100 easy.

    • @aybysyk
      @aybysyk  11 месяцев назад +3

      That was one of my suggestions too, but I doubt Techland can do that level of AI for that many zombies. It's been done in Days Gone but I doubt they can do it in DL2.

    I agree I just came back to dying light 2 and am mad about changes to night and the fact I can’t move my ps4 save to ps5 really makes it feel like it’s forcing me to replay the game that they just made impossible to do any mission at night honestly wtf make them actually chase me I hate how they spawn right in front of you not to mention I like the physical parkour but I feel like it makes me fall of thing way easier than it should

    • @jimmywalden1615
      @jimmywalden1615 Год назад +1

      O I would like to point out I have over 250 hours the game isn’t hard it’s just not fun it was fun running around and shit before now I feel like the only thing I’m doing is really grindy cause you have to run almost everywhere at night cause your always in a chase out side the pumkin farm I had 3 volatiles spawn here constantly so even just entertaining the building I would have chase start this game has been buggy since launch and these new features only add to the problems this game was fun now it boring it was never hard and even then you could just turn down the difficulty they need to give us the options to use these (new features) they’ve changed a lot for some people I might be better but for a lot of us they made it worse cause they changed everything in the game again like back when it first released and the nerfed a lot of stuff mainly the grappling hook they keep massing with they game but they’re talking out the fun for a lot of us

    • @aybysyk
      @aybysyk  Год назад

      Physical parkour gives you better control tbh. The volatile density is great, night should feel thrilling. But..
      - volatiles should not take 4 hits to kill with a high tier weapon. That's artificial tankiness
      - their AI during a chase needs to be better because it's quite easy to lose chases with barely any moves like I showed

    • @aybysyk
      @aybysyk  Год назад +2

      I am. You don't have to move like that, this was just a demonstration for the folks on PC.
      I have ran in a straight line at multiple points in this run which is something controller players can do to not whip the camera around. Just don't run straight for long and break their lines of sight frequently.

    • @aybysyk
      @aybysyk  Год назад

      It wasn't hard earlier either. In the old system, you had extremely bad volatile AI and very restrictive parkour.
      Now you have better enemy AI (which is still not as good as it should be especially when compared to DL1) and better parkour.
      You don't even need to get parkour skills like my Level 1 run here.

    It feels like there's always 10s of volatiles breathing down my neck but maybe it's just cause I'm terrified of them. Wait I don't think you have music on maybe that's what causes so much suspense.

    • @aybysyk
      @aybysyk  Год назад +4

      Yea the music is repetitive and gets annoying for me so I keep it off. Also makes it more intense with all the sounds at night.
      You can look back during a chase without breaking your pace to see if there's volatiles actually following you. Many of the sound effects are just added sfx here and there to artificially add atmosphere and intensity.

  • @jimmywalden1615

    The game was never hard it only been made boring it’s no longer fun to play this game day time it boring and it idiotic to go in dark zones mainly GRE zones and trying to get to them at night only starts a meaningless chase where the enemy will spawn in front of you instead of actually chasing you can someone explain how any of this if somehow fun compared to the game a few months ago back then you could avoid chases yes we need more volátiles but the changes they made make this game way to fucking grindy to be fun anymore the game make me want to delete it redownload the day one disk version even if it is extremely buggy and I will miss out on all dlc

  • @awdsgrgde6979
    @awdsgrgde6979 Год назад +1

    The instant bush escape is kinda bs. Overall though, I gotta say the nights are really cool after the update. I don't even hold the grudge against Techland for the fact that enemies struggle with chasing and instead they rely on spawning from vaults and doors. The environment in DL2 is made of many different objects that are astonishingly interactive and react in different ways to player behavior. Assassin's Creed Unity had the same issue, so Ubisoft ended up not even trying to make enemies chase the player above ground level. It would be dope if Techland were to offset this problem by attaching butterfly wings to Volatiles and making them fly after the chase is initiated.
