I would like to know if Lego ever releases the production numbers for GWP. I have only been collecting for a little over a year and this set and the Forestman’s Hideout are my favorite at this point. I got my first one with purchase and I picked up two more on EBay. I want to open and play with one. I hope that there are other ways to get the space babies. They need to make the other colors so they can be added to the set. Need a team for the “playpen” and all the vehicles. They need mini equipment as well.
@@henribg1 I bought a bunch of blue space baby heads from Pick a Brick. They were not selling the torso. I bought a few torso’s from Brick Owl. I will look to see if they are selling any of these versions on Pick a Brick. I don’t think they sell them in the Lego Store and the closest Brick and Minifig to me is Cherry Hill, which is several hours away. I guess I could put in an online order and then go to the Lego Store and purchase another $200.00 of Lego to get another set but there are not that many sets I want. The Irony for me is that these little space and castle sets are the ones I want. Would love to know the production numbers for these GWP. My guess is that they are not that limited.
These space sets always remind me about an old lego ripoff set I had sometime in 2005-2010. It was a copy of the set 6339, Shuttle launch pad, which came out in 1995! The set itself is very nice in size and functions.
I like the idea of GWP but I don't think the sets should be exclusive. Maybe put them on sale a month or two after they are available as GWP. I would have liked to get that Amelia Earhart set, but missed out on it
This is one of the coolest GWP’s I’ve seen, but I usually just buy sets I want on release, so I’m not gonna spend $200 just to get it. it’ll cheaper to wait and get it from Bricklink later.
I was gifted the Lego Titanic for my birthday by my parents. I didn’t ask for legos and hadn’t played with them for years. They got this in addition to the set. They bought it on the 18th. The titanic was awesome. Truly changed my perception of Lego. Too bad it can’t come with me and has to stay at my parent’s house.
I have a good 6 or 7 friends that this would be a perfect gift for. They love space lego, and have very young children. A space baby sized theme set would be an absolute 10/10 for them. Why can't we just buy stuff like this? I hate hiding these things behind GWPs.
Il hold of my purchase of the Dune Ornithopter a bit to not go into impulsive buy... But dam me, this gift set triggered the buy. I added the INterstellar Spaceship and a set of road for my son to round it to 205€... Lego really know us.
I hate the idea of buying things to get the threshold, especially cool sets like this, I also want this set more to match the galaxy explorer that that released last year that I own If I do get it it’s gonna be off of bricklink
i like that lego gives you extra stuff if you pay enough. But it would be much nicer if it was like... a secret ig? i mean like so people wouldnt buy all the stuff just for the gwp
6803 as the inspiration for the flyer? The flyer doesn’t exactly correspond to any original Classic Space ship, but there are closer vehicles than that. I reckon 6871 is the closest.
You said it will be available from 19th to 25th of february but it's not available anymore for me. Do you think they've moved it? Right now there's only a tiny 3 piece duplo gwp with duplo purchases.
All criticisms of GWPs would die if they just sold most of them seperately some time later. Like a couple months or half a year. It would mean the sets are ACTUALLY GIFTS instead of 200 dollar sets of 300 pieces. Given the fact that both plenty of people will spend for the threshold anyway AND the people who won't will buy it later makes it just blatantly anti consumer to do the current system.
Lego knows what they are doing. If the GWP method wasn't profitable, they would do something different. You do want Lego to be a profitable company, right???
Profitable doesn't always mean consumer friendly. We perfectly understand the purpose of the GWP system, but it could be done in a way that still encourages early adopters to spend $$ to get the set as a gift, but others could simply buy it I the shop 3-6 months later as a regular set.
@@RacingBrick And if Lego did that, their sales would go down significantly. Because of course people wouldn't spend $200 to get the GWP if they can just buy it later. If I don't want to spend the $200, I will be able to buy it on Ebay or Bricklink for $40 or so. So there is no problem. People just like to complain.
@@RacingBrickyou say you understand gwp system but you clearly do not. why would I spend $200 now knowing that i can buy it later without any bundling? it defeats the purpose of GWP
@@ifjfgvjfidifijf maybe you could focus on the system instead of sharing your opinion of others. You can either get the GWP from LEGO with a purchase today, or you can buy it later from eBay or Bricklink, it's literally the same system, but LEGO could run the whole deal themselves.
This is a really fun throwback to Classic Space. Definitely like this a lot better than last years Blacktron release which I passed as well as most of the GWPs. Might schedule this one for later in the month as it would be a great time to either get the BTTF DeLorean of Optimus Prime Icons sets. Definitely excited for the Speed Champions wave in March though that R2D2 is pretty high on the list too.
not too many parts look unique so I might be able to build with my current parts - or cheap bricklink ones. Even if I bought the GWP I’d be tempted to not open it
I love it, but gwp at 200€, urgh.... i could get it by byying the dune model and another set, but they announced it rather late, and to be frank i think i will just wait for it to be available as purchase separately.... ( then see it s also sold at 200 and go crie XD )
I bought the Harry Potter castle and grounds to get me over the threshold and Im selling it on marketplace now. There was no way I was going to miss this GWP
40712 is an awesome set as a GWP. I enjoy your channel especially when you talk about Technic sets. Have a great day!
Funny to see better suspension in this small GWP than in big City space rover
I hope for more sets like this, I am not going to buy any new sets to get it. I love that small astronauts have "normal" face.
Got this with my first purchase of a modular. The natural museum. So psyched that it just happened during my Japan visit.
How about a space themed advent calendar for a nice change this year?
Would love that!
That would be so good
I LOVE the Space Baby!
I like that the space baby has the classic face.
@@gregleuze6657 I don't really care about the face, because the Space Baby is cute either way.

I'm holding off in buying The Ornithopter ti get a promo set.
same I will also ge the kingfisher to get up to the promo threshold what are you going to get as well to reach the threshold?
If i were to crack and buy sets, it would be the dune one and the big robot from monkey kids

From LEGO pov, putting them on sale at later date defeats the purpose, which is to incentivize people to buy other sets
2024 speed champions building review when?? I can't wait for it!!
Love that Lego reimagines the classic space Lego set my uncle had some space Lego set has he was a kid and I now got it

Bummed that it closes before the new technic sets drop. I really don't have anything that I'm dying to get until those come out. :-(

Very nice. Looking to buy one at the 2nd Market.
great review!
I wasn’t sure if I wanted to get this GWP but I’m liking it more and more with each review.
like your work RB keep it going
One of my family friends has the original sets 😮

Would you be willing to do a video on your top ten GWP’s?
What keeps the wheel assembly from falling out of the rocket launcher? Whenever I pick it up the wheel assemblies fall of!
So awesome
Dang i thought this was new its the gwp for August, 2024 until the 8th as well
When are you making the review for the big Mercedes f1 set?

The set looks preety cool i wish i could buy it but i dont have no money🤣
I want this too, but I want one of the 24' sonic sets first. bo no money

well, the scarcity is what makes it collectible.
I think the price is worth, couse it will repay fast.
not every speed champion set was revealed right?

“so people wouldn’t buy all the stuff just for the gwp” - bro, that’s the WHOLE point of gwp
it was a full surprise for me in the shop :)
These are the same builds as displayed the Natural History Museum space section.
2:01 - Babby Benny!
I just want the babies! Refused to buy before Snow White came out and the GWP for that was meh!

I love this GWP but it's a shame about the stickers. Prints are ALWAYS better.
This is the main reason the set is a fail, methinks: stickers. The Classic Space sets always had their orbit-loop logos PRINTED.
I am skipping these spaces sets, but great review!
