    I made a macro that alt + f4 with function + settings, and alt + tab on AC left setting button. Plus Riva on left bumper and 40 or 60 FPS lock on right bumper. Saves a lot of time.
    I also run in 900p or 720 upscale and get 60 FPS with higher fidelity settings on most games. At such a small screen size it looks good either way, and the effects, texture, shadow, etc settings make up for it. Image is crisp either way.
    Also added 7 modes in manual watt from 7 to 23w to be able to quickly switch based on game.
    Plus all the typical windows fixes like core isolation of, page files, turn off windows effects, disable everything not getting related, setting to game priority in myasus etc.

    Question, I'm new to handhelds and I'm swaying more for this one. Can you put it into sleep mode like a PC? So just turn on and drive straight into the game instead of loading the game up everytime you turn on

    • @1bz2002
      @1bz2002 5 месяцев назад +1

      Yes you can put it into sleep mode by pressing the power button. However sleep mode on laptops and even more so on handhelds like the rog, devices can get cooked if it turns on in an enclosed space (like a bag, carry case etc, fans covered etc). Happened to me once already and I just had it on a sofa with fans covered next to something. It got super super hot. So always better to shutdown if lying around or in a case/bag etc.

    • @batpixel
      @batpixel  5 месяцев назад +1

      Yes you can tap the power button to put it in sleep mode. You can also set RetroArch to save your game state on exit, so when you load the game up again if the device was powered off, you’d load back into exactly where you were in the game if you open it

      @batpixel Can you tell me where 'My Asus' is? I found Windows Updates that were all up to date, but couldn't find Asus in settings or Armory Crate, nor in search bar... And just my luck, I had to get this on ebay to afford it (it was new unopened, but about $100 cheaper than buying from Asus). I already got screwed on buying a "like new" Pixel 6 Pro a few months ago & I can't at all afford to take this hit or replace anything for at least 2 more years... 😮‍💨💸

      @batpixel To clarify, I do plan on trying out Cyberpunk 2077 & if possible the new expansion, plus Stray & a few older less demanding games, but my main use for the Ally is to replace my ancient HP Pavilion laptop for my editing work, transferring/saving files & media consumption. So that being said, is the CPU setting really important? Can I still get by without these settings? And do you know if I can get a smaller power bank/pack to plug this into for extra off-the-wall (outlet) battery life?
      And I'd love to see a video on how to get the most battery life, if that's a consideration... Thanks for the tips! 🫡

    • @batpixel
      @batpixel  5 месяцев назад +1

      Emudeck uses Emulation Station to set up a lot of the emulators for you, unless you’d rather do it yourself. RetroArch is an amazing program that uses ‘cores’ for different systems, but not all emulators are available as RetroArch cores. There are lots of videos on RUclips about EmuDeck if you’d like to streamline the process for many consoles. It’s all pretty easy once you get used to it really. Just as an FYI, when it comes to games, it’s legal to emulate your purchased games, but downloading them for free/distributing them is illegal

    • @batpixel
      @batpixel  5 месяцев назад

      Some things you can try is inside of Battlefield, make all your settings on the lowest settings possible. Even make the resolution 720p in the game temporarily. Then try testing the multiple performance options I went over in this video such as CPU boost on, AMD software options, graphics upscaling, GPU settings, etc. to get the performance you’re looking for. You can also try plugging your Ally in to get a higher wattage in turbo mode with the power cable or a dock. Once you get the fps you’re looking for, increase what you’d like to improve, such as resolution, while maintaining an fps you’re comfortable with
      I also posted a video about debloating your Ally, so it’s not running other applications in the background that are not needed

      Take into consideration that AMD has been in the handheld computer market for a while and the MSI Claw will be Intel's first run at it. @cs-ge5kx I know it's crazy, but for that performance your honestly a lot better of with a steam deck oled. The allys advantage is the performance, so the z1 regular just doesn't seem worth it. I got my z1 extreme ally on a sale and I'm happy with it.

    Do you know if they fixed the problem with sd card reader ?
    I'm thinking of getting one but the SD problem bothers me

    • @batpixel
      @batpixel  5 месяцев назад

      They’ve improved the temperature and fan speeds and different things like that to improve it yes, but it’s not impossible to happen. They do have a good warranty and are aware of them problem, so they’ll completely fix yours if it ever happened. You could also use your storage in docked mode so the SD card is plugged into something else as an option. It does have internal space you could use instead for higher demanding/temperature games and remove the SD card when playing those. I think it’ll always be an element to these, but lots of improvements made

      I watched a video where a guy used a piece of thermal pad on the case of the SD card reader to negate the problem of overheating the SD card. It is a DIY fix but apparently it works.

      @@seanblanchard3333Yes it will work by keeping heat away from there. However there are risks involved one must be careful when opening the device and not damaging the internal components.

    I have an issue with online games the camera. Will spazz out but confused. As it only happens with online games

    • @batpixel
      @batpixel  Месяц назад +1

      Try changing the GPU to 6GB, make sure CPU boost is on, turn on turbo mode, put the screen resolution to 720p, try 30 frames per second, and in your online game settings put all the graphic settings to low settings. See if it helps. If not, it might be your connection, so try playing with wired internet in a dock. For the settings.. you could try using the same settings for Cyperpunk on the ASUS ROG Ally, just search what people use for that game

      I usually use 'auto' but some games might work better on a specific setting, like a lot of people try using 6 for more performance intense games. But like you said your games are performing fine in single player, so I wouldn't worry about that too much in this situation

      @@batpixel Thank you just wanting to keep my eye out since I really want to buy one of these in the coming months. Hopefully this month. I’m going to get this and the Lenovo legion go and find out which one I like best. And then if I decide I want to keep one of them, I’m probably still going to return it anyway, and then go find a better deal online lol. I might settle with the steam deck but I’m going to try not to because I’m going to stream with whatever device I go with, so I wanted to have the best looking and performing computer so the games look good, especially as it ages.

    Why play only Japanese games with illegal emulators?
    Is it legal to steal foreign culture in the West, and at the same time Westerners themselves prove that Western retro games are not worth playing?

    • @batpixel
      @batpixel  3 месяца назад +1

      The emulation market is huge. I don’t think people consciously decide to steal culture, they just enjoy classic games lol
