Working Principle of a Synchronous Motor with Basic Concept explained!!

This video explains you the working of the synchronous motor. In synchronous motor, the north and south poles of rotor and stator are magnetically locked and because of this reason, the rotor runs at the speed of the rotating magnetic field.

But I have a question :If we remove Prime Mover(PM),The stator's and Rotor's Magnetic pole will same because of 2nd half cycle of AC current. like south pole and south pole will face together.what can we do in this time.Do we attracted PM again??

A prime mover is always mechanically coupled to the shaft of the motor. So, how can a prime mover be open, when the motor is running at continiuous speed...?

Nice explanation mam , the stator windings of motor is star or delta connection . Normally delta can produce more starting torque .
Can the synchronous motor be reversed . That is if the phase connection in the terminal are changed still the the motor will run . As this changes direction of rotation magnetic field ?
