hahahaha I've been looking and wtching for videos about noises while braking and have found nothing...until i got this one.!!!! you rock! my man!!!! i finally understand the real meaning of noising in my braking!!!!!! thanks like a F....... lot!!!!!!
Seriously awesome video, sound imitations, and information. Thorough enough to help anyone understand while concise enough to not get boring. But, am I the only one(didnt read all comments) who noticed at the end he says "either 1, etc etc; or B, etc..."?
Lovely sound effects handsome! Thanks to your video I only needed brake pads replaced, therefore saving money as well. Again, couldn't be more grateful to you!
Very helpful and entertaining. There's another sound though, kind of squeeeeeeeeeek but it's louder that you can actually feel on your dashboard and steering wheel.
My brakes are making the second noise you described but they are brand new ceramic and I put them in myself. I have since then about a week later double checked my brakes to make sure everything was fine and I haven't figured it out yet
ChaoticPhantasy - I had a caliper not returning back to position after pressing the brakes and the pad kind of continually rubbed against the rotor just barely. Could it be that?
When i inspected the caliper(without taking it off) it looks solid not loose or hanging, the brake pad is also in good condition. The car currently has 5.1k on it. The noise is like a metal squeal, and its intermittent.
in Addition i inspected the Rotors surface it was smooth and very clean condition, they did not appear to be warped, i also observed the meat on the brake pads and as well as the condition of the Calipers and anything that looks defective or Loose...
What if my car makes that later noise (not squeaking), but only at low speeds, 5mph or less? I can brake from 60mph and it sounds fine until I get to a very slow speed? I know i should see a mechanic, but why would this only happen at low speeds?
this repair shop runs a honest bussiness and honesty is the bet policy....great thing also is that it is not just a transmission facility....If Your Car Has A Problem...This Facility "CAN" fix It !!!!!
It's a manual trans Vauxhall Corsa. A little European supermini. It isn't making the noise as often now, but it still makes the noise on hills, even a slight incline. Odd.
Thanks for the reply. I ordered new brake discs and pads. After installation i'll see if the problem still exists. If i have worn or broken motor/transmission mounts, shouldn't i feel shaking / bumping all the time? A better way to describe the sound is like a couple of metallic springs being pushed together. It happens only when the brakes are warmed up and while braking gently, right before the care comes to a stop. If i brake hard it doesn't happen.
Hi Dallas! Thank you very much for your informative video. I recently spent $400 dollars on brake job (replacing brake drums & free up calibers). It is ironic that haven't heard the squeaky sound prior to the maintenance. I went back to the mechanic shop several times and the store manager test-drove it twice and told me that it should be fine. They charged me another $100 for the free up calibers brake labor, however the noise in the right front brake still hasn't gone away. Is that normal?
1:00 I heard this sound few days ago for the first time just once..and today very short before I stoped for traffic lights! But before that there were no other sounds and warnings so I couldn't ignore it because it wasn't there before?But..that's the sound for sure..you nailed it..Is it possible that this sound and problem occure without any warning?
Really appreciated! My ford fiesta 2011 does that annyoing noise at morning, then suddenly noise goes away.. will go to mechanic cuz that noise is VERY annyoing. Thx a lot!!
What about the 1st noise but only when going in reverse, pads are 80% fresh still, all new hardware when they were installed. Only makes the noise coming from passenger side while going in reverse at normal speeds , if I creep in reverse no noise. 2012 Subaru Outback 2.5
What about drum breaks in the back that are not making the squeal or the grinding sound but it’s almost like eeeerrrrrr errrrr sound. Since I can’t see the brake shoes in the drum I wounder what it could be only coming from the back and only when breaks applied.
When I push the brake peddle mostly when start ups it makes the first sound u did but comes from the booster or something close to that area and goes away eventually
Theres also another sound brakes can make. That squeeeaakkk one can also mean you have glazed pads. My 99 Hilux was doing this and when we checked the pads they were almost brand new except the pad face on both sides were as shiny and slippery as glass. Once we changed them the hissing speak noise was gone.
I have a 2007 silveraldo and at low speeds no brake applied , there is a loud squeak when brakes applied it stops , I suspect a bent brake back plate contacting drum , no wheel bearing noise fluids up . thx for any input
Ok so i'm not sure if any of these apply, pretty much when I drive the car at low speeds/and come to a stop it makes this grinding noise. any idea what it could be?
Hey! I bought new rotors, new brake pads, new bearings (inner & outer), & the seal. I lubricated all all the moving parts & contacts parts other than the brake pads touching the rotor. The driver side is fine but the passenger is making grinding noise that you demonstrated. I took the whole thing apart & re-examined the bearings & the bearing are fine. FYI, I packed the bearings with hi-temp grease. I put everything back together & checked to see if anything is loose & nothing is loose. Took it for a drive (1999 Dodge Ram van) & it is still making those grinding noise! Any advice other than taking it in or selling it? Went to autozone & bought the duralast gold brakes & the duralast bearings.
When I'm turning left with acceleration my car makes a metal noise similar to one a train makes when slowing down.... Can someone help me? And no it's not the cv joint I know what that sounds like
i have 2011 chavele cruse when i reverse my car makes big noise i changed all brakes and the disce after 3 days still making the noise . what causes this? your expertise is appriciated
mahamed ali isse it sounds like it could be your quantum pads. If you lift them up and get into the hydrator piston you can see the interior of the defibrillator and just replace it and some x67 oil and you're all good.
What does it mean when you hear a grinding noise when braking after getting a car wash ? I usually get a car wash once twice a week and after a month and a half it stopped making the noise after getting a car wash. What does it mean ? My mechanic told me that the rotors are wet and it's normal for that to make noise and it's best to drive around for at least 10 minutes so the water doesn't stay on the rotors.
my new pads are metallic so they make a bit of noise when i hit the pedal but the service guy says they need a few days to get debri on them. if he they are still making noise next week i have to take it back in
Hello, i have a similar problem like Micky Kay described with my 2001 Audi A3. Right before i stop, braking gently, it makes a bit of a bumping sound and i can feel the brake pedal pulsing a bit.
I have a loud clicking noise whenever i apply the breaks at about 10-15mph. Its just a single click. Idk if its the breaks because it could also be a tierod end or a cv shaft but it only doe it when i come to a complete stop from 10-15 mph
thanks for the examples, what if you hear machine gun like noises as if your tyres have burst please, its not regular but intermittent, when I try to tell my mechanics they seem to not know, also sods law it doesn't happen when I have a mechanic in the car? tell me i'm not going crazy!
@AAMCO Venice when I apply brake and when speed drops to less than 10 miles per hour while applying brakes, I hear synchronized click sound from rear. Rear brakes are drum type. What causes this? Your expertise is appreciated
What if you hit the brakes and hear a crashing sound then everything goes black and you get sent to the spider monkey demon hybrids with pigs and cows?
I'm getting a grinding like noise from the front axel when braking slowly until a complete stop. I already replace the front axel brake pads and rotors but I am still getting the same noise. I have brake drums for the rear axel but did not bother replacing those because I do not hear the sound from the rear axel.
Could you help me out with my issue I'm having with my car? Whenever my car comes to a halt from braking, it makes a metallic grunt/boom noise when the car's nose raises again after it stops. No noise when braking, just once it's come to a halt. This happens even when braking gently, and braking at extremely low speeds (eg: when braking during parking or something else where you'd be going no more than 2mph or so) Do you know what this could be?
i was hearing a banging sound in the back right side every time i applied the breaks at low speed about 10 to 15 km , i thought it was my breaks , here i had loose lug nuts
Hi, I just noted today that when I brake, I hear some kind of a air intake sound, like bhu-bhu-bhu-bhu-bhu.... towards the rear as the tires rotate. What about that sound?
Well I’m having another issue. I’m having hissing noise when I break and not a squeak. I googled it and found it is possibly my break booster and has a leak somewhere.
I have a 2015 Kia Optima that I've only had for 2 months. My brakes are making more of the grinding noise u immitated when going forward as well as in reverse. Sounds like it's coming from the front and rear of the car. very difficult to pinpoint exact location while inside the car. Thoughts please... Dont understand why I'm having these kinds of problems when the behicle only had 11 miles on it when I purchased it in September 2015.
on my car i hear some sort of grinding sound : like "siek.. siek.. siek.. siek" and when i brake theres no sound , as soon the car is moving again i hear the sound again "siek.. siek.. siek.. siek" . what could the cause be?
i have a 2011 dodge grand caravan i just put new pads & rotors on front & back 2 weeks later the front is Grinding again when i press on brakes not sure why its doing it again you have any ideal what it is?
I have an 03 saab 9-3 linear.. it just started making the screeching noise but it also makes a loud weird low pitch sound when i stop and slowing press the brake pedal... if i press it all the way down it does not make the sound but as i press it slow or let the pedal go slowly it makes that weird loud low pitch sound.. i know its not the brake pads because i just checked them not too long ago when i painted my calipers...what do you think the problem is?
I have a 1998 civic and the front right wheel has started to make a screeching noise when i turn and also when i brake. It now has stopped making the noise when i turn, so it only screeches when I brake and a couple seconds after I'm done braking. Any ideas on what this is? And estimated cost of repair?
Bro my noise sounds a little different than those sounds it's like if I'm at a light and the car is in drive and I'm pressing and holding the brake over time it's like a slight strange noise my car makes but as soon as I put it I park the noise goes away
Never heard the noise before and I've changed breaks before so I'm not sure I'm not a mechanic just a DIY I can't describe the noise very well I was just speculating like do I need break fluid or something like is what I was wondering maybe or are my breaks just dirty like you say
and if the car is making a sound from the front rotors while pushing the brake pedal down ... what will be the problem ? it's like a sound from both front rotors sequently when you're releasing the brake pedal ,,, but in my case I'm pushing the pedal firmly ... so who can help me to recognize the problem ?
I was NOT expecting him to imitate the brake sounds himself 😂 delightful sir, thank you
Kudos to the mechanic for staying on note and maintaining a straight face. As funny as it was to hear the noises, he was spot on.
I expected him to start cracking up after that first long squeeeeeek😂😂
Dude deserves a promotion or raise for his sound effects 😂😂😂
squuuuuuuuueeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Lani Playz 1234 HAHAHAHA
First thing i noticed myself🤣
*earrape*
Miguel Sicangco don’t forget the kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
Hahahahaha. 😂😂😂
I love this guy!!! Was really stressing about my brakes and he put a big smile on my face! Thank you for letting the silly show through!
lol his brake impersonations
What did You expect? He is a professional.
Skwiiiiiiiii
As silly as the sound effects are, theres really no better way to thoroughly explain the noises.
True
Except, yanno, recording the brakes actually making the sound. #justsaynotobadsoundFX
Lmfao
Yup
@@gypsysnowwolf2313 yes is a word
Well done for the sound effects. This is what I’ve been looking for

I had to give you a thumbs-up just for the sound effects alone. Well done.
I'm actually experiencing the second noise you made, thx so much you made things clear with your explanations
Lovely sound effects handsome! Thanks to your video I only needed brake pads replaced, therefore saving money as well. Again, couldn't be more grateful to you!
I've just had my breaks sorted. Thanks for the video! But I'm so sorry, I found the noises hilarious haha
Very helpful and entertaining. There's another sound though, kind of squeeeeeeeeeek but it's louder that you can actually feel on your dashboard and steering wheel.

Finally..I was searching so long for this how to fix my squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee braking problem
I subscribed just from his perfection of the brake noises

that first one you mentioned brake noise is what I have I just replaced all four brakes in July 2015.
They probably gave you low quality breaks.
amazing sound effects on this.
Seriously made my day
Hi Dallas! Thank you very much for your informative video. I recently spent $400 dollars on brake job (replacing brake drums & free up calibers). It is ironic that haven't heard the squeaky sound prior to the maintenance. Typical AAMCO worker. Just like the ones from the AAMCO commercials that can mimic the noises from the cars. Good job!! Lol.
lolol you did great sounds and this video was very helpful, thank you thank you
What if I'm getting this hissing noise on my brakes? Kind of sounds like air when I let off my brakes.
mine too
Really appreciated! My ford fiesta 2011 does that annyoing noise at morning, then suddenly noise goes away.. will go to mechanic cuz that noise is VERY annyoing. Thx a lot!!
Luis V well, your first problem is that its a Ford😅😅..(no pun intended)
VERY VERY HELPFUL! Thanks a ton! :)
My front driver break sounds like im running over sticks crunching when i back up, and breaking going forward it clicks and makes the same noise?
This guy nailed it.

What do you hear the dragging noise with brand new brakes? I was sold something called 100% metal brakes?
i just had my pads and rotors done and they're still squeaking

This guys gotta be a transformer to have those sounds down so well
Thank you very much for the video
2-3 days ago my brakes suddenly started making the 2nd sound in this video, but I never heard the warning squeak he says you should hear first, why?
because your pads didn't come with wear indicators, always try to buy pads with built in wear indicators
Mine too 😣
@AAMCOVenice my car only its a light high pitch soung while driving when brakes are applied the sound stops
i have 2011 chavele cruse when i reverse my car makes big noise i changed all brakes and the disce after 3 days still making the noise . what causes this? your expertise is appriciated

Never wash your car/wheels right after you made a trip with lot of braking, meaning hot brakes!Cold water on your hot rotors is recipe for disaster..
my new pads are metallic so they make a bit of noise when i hit the pedal but the service guy says they need a few days to get debri on them. if he they are still making noise next week i have to take it back in
subaru forester 2012-just noticed VERY VERY slight clicking when applying brakes going 10 down to 0 mph. ?
lee shafer could be just a rock stuck in your tire
turned out to require new brakes on front
I just got new front brakes and when I apply or release them I hear a clunking sound - what is that? And it's loud too.

What if I don’t hear any sounds at all period but my steering wheel has started to shake as I stop?
Likely a warped rotor
Honda Civic 2010 Car makes a high pitched grinding noise when driving that stops when brakes are applied.
all oem parts, im hearing intermittent metal squeal noise when in reverse only. can you list some possible cause, so i can narrow it down?
A: Those are some simple true facts that people should be aware of
The second sound is just my car, and this mechanic is founding it hard to fix it, I fix the pad and it continues maybe the rotor
Could you help me out with my issue I'm having with my car? Whenever my car comes to a halt from braking, it makes a metallic grunt/boom noise when the car's nose raises again after it stops. I can’t take this guy seriously 😂😂😂😂 “squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee”

You should go Kia agency, or where you bought it from. The car is too new to be making that noise.
Could just be a pebble my dude
How about the screech noise when i release the brake? I checked the fluid and it’s above MIN level.
Nice video
on my car i hear some sort of grinding sound : like "siek.. siek.. siek.. siek" and when i brake theres no sound , as soon the car is moving again i hear the sound again "siek.. siek.. siek.. siek" . what could the cause be?
Spot on!
Can you make a video of engine noises....
i have bnew car bought this april 2021 and only 2k of running .. but when i brake theres a whistling noise but sometines none
what if your driving and you hear a grind in the rear but not from the two example you just demonstrate? also...nice vid haha
i have a 2011 dodge grand caravan i just put new pads & rotors on front & back 2 weeks later the front is Grinding again when i press on brakes not sure why its doing it again you have any ideal what it is?

no noise on brake but a klunk i get
