Shims making noise has happened more to me with OEM Toyota/Lexus pads than aftermarket. Initially when I bought my car it had this noise, I changed out the pads for aftermarket ones and had no problem for the life of the pad. Next pads I was at Toyota picking up another OEM part I needed and decided to get new pads there as well. After 15000km they started doing that same thing again. You can temporarily quiet things down by just reapplying brake grease to the back of the shims (this is done on install anyway but it wears off). The funny thing is this is a very small issue that can make an alarmingly loud rhythmic rub/creak sound at low speed and light brake pressure. It's not a safety issue, fortunately. This particular problem will not cause brake failure so while it's annoying it's not a panic and tow your car to the shop situation assuming you have diagnosed it correctly.
Yeah that sound was bugging me. I knew it wasn’t a safety hazard but that sound really annoyed me. Plus it’s kinda embarrassing too as I’m sure people outside can partially hear my break issues as well. On a Lexus it should be pristine and superb. Now if this was a beater car? Then whatever ! Noise it is! Lol
Lexus 2006 GS450H owner with the same issue an intermittent squeak , so annoying at low speed and light braking, also been into two garages that have said brakes, discs, hubs all ok,albeit the front pads are a cheap pair , the last place did pop some grease on and it went away to come back a week later when driving. It's going to my local indie for the shims as I am convinced this is what it is
Brake issues could be such a headache to resolve. Sometimes getting the right diagnosis requires multiple shops Lol I hope that your issue is solved quickly, and you never have to deal with your issue again.
@@KingDrewPhilip - Thanks I shall update on here. Overall the car is excellent to drive and apart from a replacement ABS sensor and a repair on the headlight levelling system it is all good
I have similar issue, but it only take place when the car is on run for a couple of minutes. What about yours? Is it happen right after start or later.
Mine happened a little after driving for a couple minutes. Thankfully my issue was fixed and it was only a lose break shim. Easy to fix but the sound was annoying.
I am always in awe of the shape of your car. It’s definitely a beautiful car. In the time you made this video you probably should’ve gone to a car wash.
awesome video thanks for sharing good that they fixed your brakes issue. This app that you use to blur out the license plate do they have it for android phone cause my phone is a android
You can try to see if they have it available on android. The name of the app is just Blur Video. If it is only available for Apple iOS, then I am sure you could find something very similar for android. Something for free as well, because a lot of these apps want you to pay after a trial version. This app that I use is completely free.

I currently have the exact same brake noise that you demonstrated with my Lexus ct200h 2012. (just find the exact same brake noise from your channel after searching on RUclips for 1-2 months!!) I just changed the brake pads and rotor a few months ago. I've heard the noise maybe 1 month after the changes. I wonder if I need to change them all again or if there is another solution to this problem because I don't have a warranty for this problem. Thanks.
My issue were the brake shims. They changed everything as I was under warranty on my brakes so they just gave of it to me for free. I would definitely see if it’s that, because it’s a very easy fix. It’s a small piece of metal that’s loose and you may not require a complete change of pads and rotors and whatnot. In only did as my mechanic who works on brakes didn’t want to just replace the shims and redid it all.
Odd. It hopefully is a minor issue like mine was. Safety is very important so I would see a mechanic (that won’t rip you off) for diagnosis and Repair.
For me it was a faulty brake shim. Easy fix but annoying. I would suggest seeing a mechanic to look at the break at question. Start with the calipers and work your way though the brake components to diagnose the issue.
Yes the break shim was changed. In fact I was still under warranty from the mechanic shop I took it to so they changed everything for free. The gentleman who owns the place I became friend’s with over the years and he changed the entire brakes. Rotors, pads, and all that.
@@sultanalmarzooqi3357 I guess this issue was pretty common then. It was pretty nerve racking when this issue started for me. I felt my brakes would just one day give up haha
My brand new NX Lexus 350 2024 I just received yesterday and it’s giving me this same exact noise 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 I hope Lexus in Japan punishes their distributors in other countries and have direct connection with their customers in other countries to save us from bad people who misuse their brand

I’m very pleased you solve this brake issue, because if you didn’t you might’ve ended up in a severe accident.
That’s very true actually
Beautiful Lexus you have there. I’m glad she has an owner that cares about the maintenance and other small issues it may have. Well done!!
Indeed ! She deserves the best care possible
I’m glad you got your brakes fixed, and I must say you have a beautiful car

Man thank you, been to 3 different inspections and still have the problem, let me do this thanks again.
Sometimes diagnosing break sounds could be a real pain. It can take multiple inspections and what not. Quite a headache. I’m glad I helped 😃.

Dude, you should get performance brakes for your car. The reason why is because your car is like 3500 pounds
Good suggestion bruh
I have same sound when i brakeing lightly, maybe i buy expensive bads maybe it last longer
Yeah, change them out and see if that will help. And it’s definitely good to upgrade because you get better quality from that.
