A few times won't matter at all, but just for future reference, most of the 'wear' on HID bulbs comes from the higher potential of ignition as they're switched on, not really them being on. Them being on for a half hour drive causes less stress on the bulb than initially turning them on for that drive.
It's a gripe I have with several manufacturers that don't use a separate bulb for flashing the high beams, and ignite the HID and lower the bi-xenon flap. It's usually the same cars that have a DRL running dimmed at 8 volts that could just be switched to a higher duty cycle, wearing the $10 bulbs, not the $100 ones... Volkswagen.

The main thing I learned as a mechanic in the Marine Corps was always look busy. Whether that meant making sure I was far enough under a truck with my coverall sleeves buttoned together over my head while I napped or making sure I had a rag and a wrench in my back pocket or a clipboard with some paper, blank or otherwise as I roamed aimlessly around the maintenance yard. :)

As a 0331 i just held the trigger to look busy. Did use my 240 as a pillow once, but she was clean and ready to roll. Just like Sarah said, clean them before use. Wise words.

Excellent advice/tips all around on this video Sarah. I always make a parts list or to-do list when I work on my cars. My memory is terrible. Another way to keep track of bolts when working on say a water pump, is to place it on a box or piece of cardboard. Then draw an outline and mark the holes and push the bolts through the corresponding holes in the order they came out. Scrap cardboard or something similar works great for making templates too. I dig the bench made from spare parts. Nice to know I’m not the only one that makes things from random crap that’s laying around lol.

Sarah...the main buzz in town (there's still more to come). Re-bolt removal from new jobs, I've often used disposable paper plates; cheap (ie-don't throw them out when they're demoted from the kitchen), you can write on them, ie crossmember bolts, gearbox bolts, and they soak up stains (to a point).

NOT IN MY GARAGE!!!!!

So some tips and maybe pass on to your audience if you don't know. Is first be very careful washing engine's I seen many people cause more problems washing engines then good especially pressure washing or using very harsh chemicals on them. Usually it's moisture that cause corrosion in electrical components or ignition components. So I recommend people use just a regular garden hose and sprayer. And use just purple power. I also usually high recommended people air dry the engine with compressed air especially around electrical components and ignition systems. A good tip for coolant checking is a pressure tester. You can buy cheap ones for 100.00 or less and since I would assume you aren't going to use it every day buying a cheap brand is going to be okay. Considering my 100. 00 Chinese one lasted longer then my 300.00 snap on one. Also invest in a coolant funnel they make life easier bleeding systems if you don't have one. Their like 30-50 bucks. When you are filling cooling systems that have the reservoir/fill style like the audi. Put the cap back on to help build pressure and heat the cooling system. And I will normally hold the engine to like 3000 rpms till the electric fans come on. Then I'll recheck the cooling system level. Be careful opening the caps. And last thing Sarah look into some launch or autel scan tools. They can be had for 500-5000 dollars depending on how much u want to spend. Most people thing the 5000-16000 snap on is the only way to go and I tell them I don't car what they say they are just wrong. But launch has a cell phone tool for 500 and a lot of better diagnostic technitions then me use it all the time and highly recommend it.

A month ago your comments were blowing up with questions and recommendations for the tt cooling issues. Now that you've upgraded, troubleshot, and temporarily fixed the system to regain proper operation, more people are concerned with how flat your stomach is.
I say job well fucking done.
Just so you know, there are very few techs out there that would have gotten to the root without going through the steps, and new parts, you did. Most probably would have condemned the fans as well.

If you find that the grip on those vinyl gloves is sometimes lacking, go to walmart and look for Grease Monkey Traction Grip Nitrile Disposable Gloves, they have a texture on the grip that helps big time with holding onto things, but still has all the advantages of the disposable gloves, they are a bit thicker material as well so they stand up to mechanic type work better then the el-cheap-o's

I think the Bees were attacked by the scent of the (sweet smell) of coolant ; or some new fragrance your wearing???
Also, your comedy style reminds me of Carol Bernett (I think she is still with us) , in fact you kind of look like a young CB! Look her up, I think you'll enjoy her ; she is a comedy icon!!!
