A heads up for creators, there's lots of hidden costs in this - Creating one piece ended up costing me around $90 due to Ethereum transaction fees and the platform failing five times (I had to pay Ethereum fees for each of these too) $20 for Dollar to Ethereum $70 to create the artwork. Not worth it, I just been researching into this. It's another one of those if you are rich you get richer and if you are an unknown artist you will struggle to even get a single bid on your art. IF you are a celebrity or musician or even maybe a famous streamer/RUclipsr your things will be bought asap but as a normal average artist, you will spend 80 ~100 dollars on a piece in fees just for it to never sell. 1% of the artists will get 80% of the money, the next 19% of artists get 10% of the money, and the rest 80% of artists will get the bread crumbs of 10% of the money split between them.
Actually, you can sell public statues or bridges or any other shit that others did and you had nothing to do with it unless you are a thief who makes money out of people's stupidity. Also, you are right, it's just a money laundry method which richer get richer and has nothing to do with unknown artists.
@Reee Flex - Wrong on every count. The whole point of this is that, for the first time, there is an irrefutable record of ownership. Also, you can't sell someone else's art as you own as you cannot prove ownership through provenance. This isn't liked solely to digital assets either, Nike are using it to prove their top end trainers are genuine.

I started to look into NFTs to build more my knowledge. Your video was simple and very enjoyable to watch so thank you for publishing this content. I personally think this revolutionary way of buying /selling art or actually anything that can be classified as a virtual asset will need to be watched very closely. The sector is still widely unregulated and those activities can conceal massive risks of money laundering and financial crime at many levels.

Not worth it, I just been researching into this. It's another one of those if you are rich you get richer and if you are an unknown artist you will struggle to even get a single bid on your art.
IF you are a celebrity or musician or even maybe a famous streamer/RUclipsr your things will be bought asap but as a normal average artist, you will spend 80 ~100 dollars on a piece in fees just for it to never sell.
1% of the artists will get 80% of the money, the next 19% of artists get 10% of the money, and the rest 80% of artists will get the bread crumbs of 10% of the money split between them.
That's called....life. And you're right!!!

Actually, you can sell public statues or bridges or any other shit that others did and you had nothing to do with it unless you are a thief who makes money out of people's stupidity.

@Reee Flex - Wrong on every count. The whole point of this is that, for the first time, there is an irrefutable record of ownership. Also, you can't sell someone else's art as you own as you cannot prove ownership through provenance. This isn't liked solely to digital assets either, Nike are using it to prove their top end trainers are genuine.

These platforms are marketplaces, not educational tools. NFT's have been around for years, it's not the crypto-world's fault that you are finally coming around to learn now that you saw $$$ associated with it
