Bsn was originally really gritty and brittle before it changed to a soft formula about 3 or 4 years ago. Bsn, chalkness monster and easy grip were all really comparable for gritty chalk lovers, almost an unsifted reform texture. Then one day everyone received soft versions now they're all hard haha. I think too many people complained aswell about soft chalks beinh delivered pre crushed which is totally understandable and theyd lose money replacing orders so harder chalk formulas were found and sourced. A channel spoke about it years ago after contacting a brand ❤

I don’t think spider chalk was ever a “bsn” type, it’s always been gritty and somewhat crunchy
