Even though I am a Sinnoh fan, I have to give my respect to Hoenn. First region to give the E4 their own music. And it's *perfect.* Intimidating. Intense. Heart-racing. You just know... these battles are not going to be a cake walk. And they sure weren't. Freakin' Sheer Cold.
Man, I remember the first time fighting Sidney in the original Ruby way back then. The stadium-like battlefield, that epic intro with the player's face and the opponents face swooshing by eachother... It was pretty awesome the first time I experienced it.
I really don't understand why people don't like this; I was severely underleveled the first time going through the E4 (like Lv. 44) and this music got me so pumped that I felt like I had no choice but continue. I love what they did with this theme; it got me so excited to battle that I could feel my heart pumping, even when I was on the edge of defeat.
Oh my, the same thing happened to me. I entered Sidney's room just to take a look and I ended up battling the Elite Four and the Champion all the way because of this music.
Late comment but people don't like this because it's not like the original. I really like this theme. They could have made it a lot worse but they didn't. Massive kudos to Game Freak and Nintendo.
This exact thing happened on my rebattle. I actually somehow managed to get to Drake and then I got destroyed. But my first attempt was so good as I actually beat them all even when I forgot to switch out my HM slave.
And this is why Gen 3 has the definitive Pokémon music to me. It’s threatening and intense, and the second you hear that trainer battle music, you know that Ruby and Sapphire, while they won’t kick you while you’re down and throw sand in your eyes, don’t pull their punches and certainly aren’t fair fighters. But, it’s here to give you an experience as a person and as a Pokémon fan that you will never forget. That’s just what Generation 3 is to me, unforgettable, and this track perfectly encapsulates that feeling and confirms to myself that generation 3 was the peak of Pokémon’s design philosophy.
To be honest, I actually like this theme...The moment I heard it, I had a rush of nostalgia because it was one of the few themes I remembered when I played the original Sapphire.
Thats how i felt about the rival theme. all the other themes we easily repeatable when you complete the originals... but the rival theme... Once the internal battery died there was no longer anyway to hear it. So thank you Gamefreak for the music selection on wireless battles

Actually puts up a decent fight Phoebe: Was actually quite easy except for chandelure which had a type advantage over my two strongest team members. Glacia: Whole team swept by a steel type. Drake: Put up a decent fight but was rekt by my sceptile and crobat.
I think the music has greatly improved compared to the old ruby and sapphire games. It has the same attitude as the old games with the drums and brass, but game freak has stepped up their game! :)
Couldn't agree more. When i heard this for the first time i was just blown away by it. As for the people complaining, well who cares about them because i'm not going to let those guys spoil my enjoyment and i hope they don't spoil yours either.
I don't get why people even bother complaining about the theme. Music doesn't make the game. Also, Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire are _remakes_ and a remake should typically stick to the same story but better graphics and maybe new features (Sneak encounter, Poke Amie, Super Training) They tried to bring back a fan favorite and make it better, which they did. The Elite Four is freaking amazing in this game and they kept the soundtrack relatively the same but with rather small changes. If they changed it completely, they knew people wouldn't stop bitching.

i love this theme so much because the tense buildup at the beginning is released into a fun and playful yet still intense sound. this makes a lot of sense considering the game..the danger is over and you have already saved the world. you can either continue with the league or complete the pokedex but there’s no stress or worry about it because peace has already been restored ? idk but i like this theme a lot and it rlly fits with the story
To me it was, and will always still be, a pure rush of adrenaline. ORAS were the second games I've got after Soulsilver, and let me tell ya : these will stay with me for life

At first i missed the clapping but now after i've heard that little tune in 00:35 to 00:40 that has an echo i'm hooked again, this one and the Rival one are the best.
This was the first game that I completed a Nuzlocke on and this song reminded me that it was always possible to win. No matter how many Pokémon died (RIP Pacha the Plusle), we could still move on and victory was a possibility. My team and I had a chance, and we took it. Scribbles, Macy, Pacha, Lilly, Ivy, Scott. We made it.

Now this was a remake. I loved how they actually gave the Elite Four and Steven different teams and Mega Stones (for the E4) in postgame. It added more variety and made them a lot more interesting. While I wish they could’ve done the same with Gyms, the fact that they did it here makes the league 10 times better.
Alpha Sapphire was my first game ever since my 2015 ds, and brother when i got to Steven my heart STOPPED. I had to retry more than 2 times and end his metagross with a earthquake from my swampert.
My experience with the Elite 4 Sidney: Die by my team. Phoebe: Attack Larxene (my female Mightyena). Glacia: WHY WONT YOU JUST STOP THE HAIL AND DIE (Saved by Mega Manectric and Flamethrower) Drake: 3 dragons died via Ice Beam by Milotic, the rest by Mega Gardevoir Overall, Glacia was the hardest. She was the hardest for my back in Ruby, and she still was in Alpha Sapphire.

i love this theme so much because the tense buildup at the beginning is released into a fun and playful yet still intense sound. this makes a lot of sense considering the game..the danger is over and you have already saved the world. you can either continue with the league or complete the pokedex but there’s no stress or worry about it because peace has already been restored ? idk but i like this theme a lot and it rlly fits with the story
To me it was, and will always still be, a pure rush of adrenaline. ORAS were the second games I've got after Soulsilver, and let me tell ya : these will stay with me for life
0:45 is a motif that is also in the Unova elite four theme, which is cool because by Gen V they were the only elite four with unique themes

The original Hoenn games were my first Pokemon games, and I wanted to save my favorite themes from the soundtrack for when I actually encountered them in ORAS, and, uh, how did they take an already perfect theme and make it better?

This was the first game that I completed a Nuzlocke on and this song reminded me that it was always possible to win. No matter how many Pokémon died (RIP Pacha the Plusle), we could still move on and victory was a possibility. My team and I had a chance, and we took it. Scribbles, Macy, Pacha, Lilly, Ivy, Scott. We made it.

I loved how they actually gave the Elite Four and Steven different teams and Mega Stones (for the E4) in postgame. It added more variety and made them a lot more interesting. While I wish they could’ve done the same with Gyms, the fact that they did it here makes the league 10 times better.

Phoebe: Attack Larxene (my female Mightyena).
Glacia: WHY WONT YOU JUST STOP THE HAIL AND DIE (Saved by Mega Manectric and Flamethrower)
Drake: 3 dragons died via Ice Beam by Milotic, the rest by Mega Gardevoir
Overall, Glacia was the hardest. She was the hardest for my back in Ruby, and she still was in Alpha Sapphire.
