If the market has taught me anything, it is that it usually recovers, but I can't seem to focus on the long run when key things like my retirement and reserve are wrecking havoc on inflation. I need a strong data trajectory and solution as soon as possible.

Am 58 retiring next year but the thought of retirement gives me weakness. My apologies to everyone who have retired and filing social security during this time after putting in all those years of work just to lose everything to a problem you never imagined to happen. It’s so difficult for people who are retired and have no savings or loved ones to fall back on.

True, It has never been easier to understand how to build your money after retirement than it is right now with the inflation, when you may study and experience a completely variegated market passively by employing a successful portfolio-advisor. The impacts of the U.S. dollar's gain or fall on investments, in my opinion, are complex.

I was a project manager and my personal portfolio of approximately $850k of my retirement pension took a big hit in April due to the crash. My original retirement plan was to retire at 40, work part-time, and save money. However, high prices for everything have severely affected my plan. I'm concerned if people who went through the 2008 financial crisis had an easier time than I am having now. The stock market is worrying me as my income has decreased, and I fear I won't have enough savings for retirement since I can't contribute as much as before.

    • @edward.abraham
      @edward.abraham Год назад +5

It's recommended to save at least 20% of your income in a 401k. You can use online calculators to estimate how much you should save based on your age and income. Saving at least 20% of your income in a 401(k) can help ensure that you have enough money to retire comfortably. By saving this much, you can take advantage of investing in the stock market and potentially grow your retirement savings over time.

50 now, and everything is paid for. Fortunately, I had a college economics teacher who taught me a lesson when I was 18 years old. That lesson was: you can't buy something else for every purchase you make. Having multiple sources of income is prudent, as is living within your means. I have a 13-year-old vehicle because it is all I need, I like it, and I can do whatever I want with it. My net worth is $4 million, and I can pay my bills without stress, but I don't live like I have that. I have no complaints.

Because of dividends, I first began investing in stocks. It's important, in my opinion, to be able to live off of dividends without selling if you invest and make other income in addition to payouts. It suggests that you may pass that down to your kids and give them a leg up in life. Over the years, I've invested over $600k in dividend stocks; I continue to buy more today and will keep doing so until the price drops even further.

My belief is that making a wise investment is a fantastic way to save money for the future as well as a way to generate passive income. Those who make poor mistakes early in life regret them later in life. But, if done alone, investing may be challenging and risky. For this reason, I suggest consulting experts for advice (FA). The difficulty lies in effectively employing it, not just watching videos and reading investing books..

Building wealth and remaining financially stable indefinitely is a lot easier with the appropriate information. Participating in financial programs and products is the only true approach to make a high income and remain affluent indefinitely.

be to increase one’s income, maybe have dual income and then get a home and also do fire.

I believe there’s some missing information, what if we were to buy a car or any big sum of money is to be spent for any big reason, that will be more than just our monthly expense and would not cover it, and if we’re retired one will only have to spend less or equal to their monthly expense, now ik we can calculate it as fat fire for such scenarios and even can start a side hustle or business gig, but that’s the point, on an eagles eye view, this is kinda unachievable for a normal middle class person with a normal payroll, please think about it

Here is a formula I use:
      50%(Fixed Costs)
      10%(Guilt-Free Spending)
      30%(Investing)
      10%(Savings)
Let's say I earn Rs 50K per month after taxes from my source(s) of income:
50% of Rs50K = Rs25K will be for fixed costs like rent, food, internet, etc.
10% of Rs50K = Rs5K will be for whatever I want, e.g., buy a new pair of shoes.
30% of Rs50K = Rs15K will be for investment. This should be automatic. It will go into ETF/Index funds.
10% of Rs50K = Rs5K will be into my savings account
      Keep it simple :)
