    About injora locking system: has It been working well yet? Does It need some mod to work fine?

      I've had no problems at all so I take back my caution ;^) If you haven't seen Exocaged RC beat the crap out of the Injora clone chassis, it's impressive (He doesn't name it in the title if I recall correctly, but the clone videos he made recently are the Injora TRX4 clone). These axles are probably as durable as the genuine ones (maybe more). I feel silly for being nice to mine

    the gears are actually powder metall

    Hi bro.. Can we install brass to this axle?

    • @drivetowrench2709
      @drivetowrench2709  Год назад +1

      I haven't added any but I would expect it to be similar to adding to stock TRX4 parts, for example, diff covers are somewhat notorious for need a little massaging to fit perfectly (if you buy Chinese its hard to know what you're getting). I'd be surprised if there were huge problems because side by side they are almost impossible to tell apart.

    have you tried installing the locker spools in them from the sport axles?

    • @drivetowrench2709
      @drivetowrench2709  2 года назад

      No, sorry, no time. Hardly any running yet either. Got the lockers working really nicely, that's about it... BTW parts are available now for very reasonable prices

    Hi bro can we use this trx4 clone axle with scx10 gearbox.. Does it run like normal or opposite direction.. Thanks in advance 🙏

    • @drivetowrench2709
      @drivetowrench2709  Год назад

      Yes, I have used them with an SCX10 trans but I've never checked the direction specifically, I have always been able to reverse the motor wires if needed (I'm not that worried about "proper" motor direction in a crawler). If my mental gymnastics are correct, the Traxxas trans output turns in the opposite direction as SCX10 and the portal gears switch it back to "normal". I believe that if the ring gear on your old SCX10 front axle was also on the left the rotation would be the same. I hope that makes sense. (You can map out your gears with a quick sketch, every gear mesh to a different shaft reverses rotation)

    Not meaning to bother you. But I got these same axles. All I done was disassemble them to add grease. But I noticed a paper thin shim in my bolt tray and have no idea where this came from. I am thinking the front portal housing , but I only have one of them that is in my tray. Do you know where this shim would go? It is the size of one of the input bearings the front Input portal gear rides on. Hope I explained it good enough

      It's been a while but I think there was a shim between pinion and the bearing (inside the pumpkin). That's the usual spot to use a shim to set the gear mesh (The diff itself can be shimmed but mine were not) . I don't think there are any in the portals.

    Does this axels worth the money or does they fail now?

    • @drivetowrench2709
      @drivetowrench2709  2 года назад

      I've had no problems but I haven't been very hard on them. Dusty and damp conditions, no submersion. I mostly run the front unlocked and the rear locked. I would buy them again, especially because genuine TRX4 parts are getting a lot more expensive in Canada. The 2spd TRX4 clone transmission in the Injora chassis that comes with these axles has plastic gears which I've heard are not great, but a lot of people also seem to think shifting on the fly is a good idea and IMO it is not

    If I was to get these for a custom project, locked both diffs with a spool and got rid of the open diffs, and put under/over gears in them, would that be feasible or are these too different

    • @drivetowrench2709
      @drivetowrench2709  2 года назад +1

      The slight binding that I talked about would concern me with the under ring gear because that small increase in diameter might be a problem. I would expect that running the over in the front and stock in the back would work fine. Personally, I would rate these more a run as-is solution. If I was spending that kind of money on gears I would go with Traxxas axles off Jenny's RC because you know everything will fit and the Traxxas have no question marks on durability of the front CVs and the axle shafts. Plus, you can probably sell the diff parts and the cables. But I'm also way too cheap to shell out whole axle money on a ring and pinion, so take my opinion for what you will...

      For sure. Weather is total shite... probably another month away at least
      They do lock and unlock well just farting around so those concerns seem unfounded (video soon)
