I'm back with another INXS reaction from their 1987 album Kick, and this time we listen to the energetic and charismatic "Devil Inside," a song that seems to be making a point about humanity at large, and which features crazy vocals from Michael Hutchence. Timing is everything in comedy. 😄 Another quality tune from an album that is just full of them.
Love that guitar riff. And the percussion and keyboards. And Michael's breathy, growling to wailing vocal. Then we get the guitar solo! And I like the lyrics, too. All of us have the devil inside, so much so that when you look at the world, "It's hard to believe we need a place called hell." Nuff said!

So glad you didn't have the video going, although is a great video, directed by Joel Schumacher, the song sounds so much better without the distraction. There is a lot of subtle musicality going on that gets missed if your eyes wander!
It's so true. A few months back, I reacted to a couple tracks in music-video form even though I hadn't heard them before, and I was definitely distracted from the sonics by the visuals. So that just confirmed that anything I react to a video for, I need to have already done an audio-reaction for it first. Because it really is more immersive when you're only getting the audio sensory input.
Just a quick reminder that the next time you come back to INXS, there will be two tracks called “Need You Tonight” and “Mediate” that usually go well together, so it would be great if you could combine them into one reaction video🙂

@@mattsnider2667though two completely different songs, back in the day most radio stations played them together and they do join seamlessly as the tempo is identical. Smart marketing to double the airplay 😂 oh and fans will love you for it!
I look at INXS as the sexy, less serious U2. 😁 I Need You Tonight is maybe the sexier of them all. Phew! 🔥
